Hi all, I'm trying to grow but without much success. I guess I don't have green thumbs. Is there a nursery person in or around Beaudesert Qld who can help me with some advise?

    GLOVE GOO
This is the strongest concentrate you can make easily with no chemistry equipment or chemicals. You will need to harvest a plant to get it though.

    METHOD

    1) While harvesting your plants you should always wear rubber or latex gloves. The powder-free, food grade latex types are the best. During the manicuring stage of the harvest you will be handling fresh buds and a lot of the resin and brown hairs will stick to your gloves, particularly the thumb and pointer finger. Change gloves regularly during the harvest because it gets very hard to manicure buds with resin caked all over your fingers, but don't throw away the dirty gloves. Turn them inside out as you pull them off and save them as you go. By the time you've finished harvesting even half a plant all the resin on the used gloves will have oxidised and turned a light or dark brown colour, depending on how long it's been left and how many brown hairs are in it.

    2) Turn the gloves the right way out so the resin is on the outside (the way they were when you were wearing them). I do this by gently blowing them up like a balloon until all the fingers pop back out. Do this over a clean piece of aluminium foil in case any of the resin falls off.

    3) Let the glove deflate then stretch each finger out one at a time. The resin should fall straight off and any that doesn't will come off easily with a light scrape of your finger. A second person makes this part much easier since you'll be using both hands to stretch the glove fingers.

    4) Chop the collected resin into small pieces with scissors and store in an airtight container. A glass container is best but plastic or an old tobacco tin is fine as well.

    HOW TO SMOKE GLOVE GOO

Take a small amount of your glove goo (about half a match heads worth for your first time) and place it on top of a packed cone in your bong (a hash pipe is not a good way to smoke glove goo). Hold the lighter flame on the Goo for 3 to 5 seconds until it begins to soften or catches alight. Now start sucking down the cone as you would normally do, except suck a bit slower and keep the lighter flame on it until the cone is at least half gone. The goo will burn and melt down as the weed in the cone burns, and the whole thing should burn down without blocking up your cone piece, unless you suck it down too fast.
Smoking goo this way will give you an instant and intense rush. We called it goo because everyone who tried it said that it felt like somebody had poured warm goo over their brain! It really is that strong

    Introduction:
These are my essay notes on Cannabis and its potential for legalisation in terms of recreational use. I will be using this essay to deliver critical information to the year 12 students of my High school in Bellingen. We know that medical cannabis is already sweeping the country and making steady progress from clinical studies but what about cannabis for recreational use? In these notes, I will outline the current progress in terms of legalisation for recreational and complete medical use, benefits in terms of health & economics etc..

    Hi guys,
Can anyone tell me how long these girls have left before they're ready as I don't want to pull them too early or too late.
    Thanks in advance

My damn dog has gotten to my plants and has pulled them from the ground and left them lying out exposed all day in the sun. I found them in the afternoon and they were very dried out and wilted.

I have re-potted them but I'm not sure if I'm wasting my time because of the state they look. Its the next day now and the leaves have gone crispy and it looks like shit. The roots have copped a flogging as well so I'm gutted.

My question is, is there anything I can do to try to nurse it back to health or is it a lost cause due to drying out and root damage? Will it help if I move it in shade to try to prevent from further stressing it out? I'm at a loss at the moment

Is it absolutely necessary to jump power? What are some peoples opinions on this? Ive been told the cycle sticks out like dog balls on a smart meter?
  2. So a quick update to what has been happening. I have been doing some things in life and had been avoiding using much of the web, so please excuse my absence.

The plant from the previous post had been grown out as much as possible. It was hit with a product called "Bitchin'" to try and get any form of female growth at all. None of which took place :(. So I decided to give a few extra weeks of flowering and allowed the seeds growing to mature into a solid seed.

I was able to get a butt tonne of seeds from the plant and have already got them to seedling stage of growth. All of which will continue to be an outdoor, non treated, simply water and allow to grow process until ready to harvest I'll upload a few pics related to the seeding process shortly, once I have them sorted.

    Hi,

    ive started growing,

shits exciting!! apart from not having the experience to know exactly whats going on in my grow tent.

im having a bit of trouble with the plants health, probly went wrong with four different strains ( i have 4 plants in tent ) one of the plants seem to be going ok.

lock outs etc im not to sure whats going on. temp, humitity, ph, nutes all following what ive been told.

a couple times along the way ive burnt leaves a little after being away for a few days, spider mites ( on 1 plant ) that ive just sprayed with organic on all plants. does this slow down growth?

the three plants are all clones from other people so maybe the were not to good in the first place. one is from seed

into third week of veg and the four are all different sizes, bushier than each other.

growth seems to be very slow, maybe in just impatient i dont know

any help info would be much appreciated

    Hi guys

I currently have 4 Hybrid (Genetic unknown), Sativa dominant girls growing in pots on my balcony. They get solid 8 hours of sun a day and were very strong during their seedling phase. However lately I've been having inconstant growth, node splitting, copper spots appearing on my leaves and, most recently, black leaf tips and new growth is very light green.

They are short, bushy sturdy plants but growth seems to of slowed lately.

I'm lightly fertilizing with Organic Charlie Carp, 5ml per 1L every two weeks or so. Ive had success with this method in the past and 2 of the plants aren't having any issues at all.

    Ph ranges from 6.2-6.8,

Please check out the attached photos, Id love some feedback.

  5. Hey guys,

I am so sick of paying top dollar for under achieving buds. So over hearing yeah this is sick weed, only to get home and get a mild buzz.

So i have decided to venture into the world of growing and try my hand at producing some tasty head that will get the job done.

First up strain choice - I purchased nine seeds one of each strain.

    - Green Crack (Humbolt)

    - Moby Dick

    - BC Early Blueberry

    - La Reina De Africa

    - Tikal

    - White Widow x Big Bud

    - Money Maker

    - Tangerine Dream

    - Dr Grinspoon (not what i ordered but was given as a random as a replacement for Pure Power Plant which i paid for that wasn't in stock by sending time)

Please can i have some comments on choice as i was going for a mix of quality and quantity

These will be placed in 90 litre bins (most of the bottom cut out so the roots can spread) with some local soil (red granite) along with some soil i made up 50/50 mix i think

The soil i made consists of a 3 way organic of peat/mushroom compost/black soil, mixed with organic garden soil, manure from my local landscaping supplier, all in equal parts about 400 kg in total

i then added 30 kg of dynamic lifter, 25 kg of blood and bone, a full chaff bag of ash from an old bonfire and a heap of river sand. And Lots of water crystals.

My spot will receive plenty of full sun but not all as it is in a valley (on the north east facing slope)

I am aware not all these strains will finish at the same time but that is not an issue (except for maybe the grinspoon).

I prepared some jiffy pots after being told these were the go, soaked in warm water, popped the seeds and put on a heat mat. 100% germ, yay

I put them under a CFL and 2 6500K fluros for 3 days, 24 hrs of light. Then read 18/6 is better, so changed that and gradually introduced to sunlight a few hours a day until they were getting a full days

sunlight plus the supplemental to make up the 18 hrs.

I have them in small pots now with a 50/50 blend of Osmocote Premium potting mix / Osmocote Seedling mix. Some perlite would have been nice but i have a budget. (most everything i have bought so far

i have scraped together 20 or 30 bucks a week till i had enough to go ahead) plus the season has started so my mate said.

I will be able to water every fortnite, and am thinking of sinking some plastic bottles filled with crystals in the pots with some hose on top so i can top them up.

Nutrients and fertilizers have me stumped so if anyone could make some recommendations keeping in mind a tight budget, it would be greatly appreciated

At the moment i am just starting on Seasol/Powerfeed 1/4 strength

Here are some pics of my babies at nearly 3 weeks. I think i am doing okay, not great my mate said, but healthy. (i didn't mark which was which as they were put in, in a hurry)

Any and all comments are welcomed.

All in all I am pretty damn happy with myself for my first ever attempt (have never grown any type of plant at all before) but it is still early days. (oh and i am planning on FIM LST and HST as they all sound

fucking awesome. (who wants a christmas tree when you can have a fucking massive bush)

Any tips, hints, advice or guidelines to growing big, heavy and potent trees are what im after. Ant thankyou for your time guys. :)

Today id like to introduce you to the new lady.

She is about 4-5 weeks old and a clone. I have been holding her back (no water, small pot, etc) as the box was on the wrong light cycle to get her involved.

We are good to go now though. To repot her I first watered the new pot 48 hours before hand and left it to sit. I watered her 12 hours before repotting a heavy soaking. I then helped her move house and left her to it. No water once in the new home, everything is plenty wet already. blogentry-56620-0-33993300-1440939511_thumb.jpg

She is a clone, and I have some height limitations so I have tipper her so she has 4 main laterals. I have started to train her straight away. I need her wide and bushy, not tall. blogentry-56620-0-61007100-1440939544_thumb.jpg

Finally after a couple of days she has settled in and starting to show the benefits of a new home.blogentry-56620-0-47977900-1440939654_thumb.jpg

Hi every one, I've been lurking on the forums here for about 4 months now and have learnt so much valuable information, especially by reading grow logs. After umming and arring I've decided to start my own grow log to share my progress/learning curb and to get tips and ideas from others as I go along.

I'm on a smallish budget and have been collecting the supplies I needed to get started over the past few months. to begin this grow I have:

    1x1x2m cheapie tent off ebay

130w cfl bulb, reflector and yoyo's (also cheap off ebay)

    Nutrifield coco a & b

    Nutrifield coco coir bricks

    Buckets

    Pearlite

a cheap ph pen from ebay

a cheap ec pen from ebay

some seeds from Bonza including a Vision Seeds Northern Lights Feminized Seed which I am using for my first grow.

From this first grow I'm really hoping to learn a lot, I plan to try scrogging to increase yield from one plant and am really excited to get started. I decided to set my pot/bucket up in a Hempy bucket type style, I have drilled lots of small holes around the bucket about 1-2cm up from the bottom, I then filled with pearlite to just over the holes and topped the rest up with coco coir with a little pearlite mixed in, for now this bucket is sitting in another bucket which serves to catch any run off.

I put the seed in paper towel to sprout last Wednesday and by Thursday night it was ready to plant, I planted it but had to go away for two nights over the weekend so gave it a good watering and left it in the dark for two days, I think leaving it in the dark may have caused the little one to stretch a little bit in search for light :(. Oh well I have the lights on now and will hook up a timer set for an 18hr light cycle later this evening.

Anyways that's all for now, looking forward to hearing what you all think and posting updates as I go along.

    Cheers :)

(sorry about the pics on their side, they show up correctly on my computer but went wonky when I uploaded them and I'm not sure how to rotate them to correct position for the post)

    12/4/14

2.5 weeks since first starting my seedling, (feels like a lot longer) still quite long/tall but I think the stretch has stopped after turning on the light and setting up the timer. I'm supporting her with a bamboo stick and have put a fan in the tent to hopefully help the stem strengthen up, I also lowered the light today so its probably about 40-50cm above the plant now.

I watered her on the 5th with about 300ml of nutrient water and again on the 10th with about 200ml (I had made up 500ml) I Think I'll make up another 500ml later today or tomorrow and giver her the whole lot.

I feel like she might be coming along a bit slowly can any one give me some input on this? (see attached pics)

  6. Greetings fellow cultivators.....

This is my second thread on this site, the first was a brief enquiry about growing in Aus, and to be quite frank, the response from @midget pissed me off.

I would avoid the CO2 if this is your first grow and really hate to burst your bubble but the Helios 6 and 2 arent the ducks nuts... they are chinese multichips...

Hope you didnt buy them in the UK because they can be found much cheaper elswhere.....they claim to use anywhere from epistar to CREE to bridgelux LEDs... well there you will have one problem..they quality from all of those are different and I highly doubt they are using many crees...

Not trying to burst your bubble but multipchips and mono's are proven to grow less efficiently than white leds... in fact the few "good" manufactureres are using predominantly whites and adding reds for flower...

just so you know..... dont get your hopes up on big yield that you see on forums or youtube... all is not as it seems

Hardly the warmest welcome...... I'm no newbie to growing, and I thought I should show you what my crappy Helios LEDs can do...... :D

    I'm growing in a 1.4m x 1.4m tent with 6" air exhaust and 4" intake, initially running 24/7...

    The plants:-

2 x Critical Jack Auto - This strain by Dinafem has genetics from all sorts... Critical Mass, Jack Herer, Shiva Shunk, Northern Lights #5, O Haze and Lowryder. It is a high CDB strain, and takes 70 days from seedling to harvest. It reaches up to 2 or 3 feet high under appropriate conditions, with lots of light, warm temperature, and an aired substrate. But it doesn´t grow much if the conditions are not perfect, yet quality is always good. The quality of the final product is what makes the difference from less enhanced strains. I should look forward to hard tight buds, strong odours, completely covered with resin, and intense sweet flavour, with hints of lemon and frankincense.

1 x Chronic Ryder Auto - This is another strain from the Joint Doctor... a cross of Lowryder #2 and Chronic, taking 65 days to harvest. It can pack on a lot of weight due to its dense, prolific budding, producing very large, resinous nuggets with 12-14% THC.

I planted the seeds direct in 100% Coco each in a 22L airpot, covered them with clingfilm, and 3 days later they germinated and popped their little heads through. I gave them a 0.6EC feed and the next day 0.7.

They stayed on 0.7EC till day 6, and on day 7, I upped the EC to 0.8, which they stayed on until day 9. On day 10, I increased the EC to 0.9.

I fed them the House and Garden Coco 2 part nutrients, and they had 1x Helios 6 and 2x Helios 2's, 28" above the plants on a 18/6 schedule.

As well as the H&G Coco nutes. they got the following H&G additives....

    Drip Clean 0.1ml/L

    Roots Excelurator 0.2ml/L

    Amino Treatment 0.1ml/L

    Nitrogen 27% Boost 0.1ml/L

....plus they get a little CalMag (I use 0.1ml/L as an additional buffer in my 0.2EC tap water), and I use Silicon as a pH up. The plants also receive silicon from the Amino Extract, and I understand the Coco is enhanced with CalMag as well as being buffered.

I hand watered them 0.5L pH 5.8, 3-4 times a day to get a semi-hydroponic effect, and they seemed to lap it up...

    gallery_53977_1445_364610.jpg day 10

By day 21, they were hungry and thirsty, taking feeds 3 times a day by hand, at EC1.2 and pH 5.8. Run off was EC 0.7.

    Additives this week:

    Drip Clean 0.1 ml/L

    Roots Excellurator 0.3 ml/L

    Amino Extract 0.3 ml/L

    Nitrogen 0.3 ml/L

    Multizyme 0.75 ml/L

I finally got round to setting up the Harvest Master control unit, which I used for previous DWC grows in a sealed environment running CO2...... well this is a tent, and although CO2 might help with high temps.... there is too much extraction, and I would be forever pumping CO2 in. I'm just using it as a simple environment controller.

The Harvest Master has worked wonders keeping the temps and RH within reasonable limits, now I get a max of 28 and a min of 22, and RH is between 50 and 70%. The lights are now on 20/4.... another bonus of the Harvest Master and it's excellent climate control.

    gallery_53977_1445_216239.jpg day 21

On day 29, I installed the Blumat watering system, nice piece of kit.....

    By day 35 ECwas 1.6, pH 5.8

    Drip Clean 0.1ml/L

    Roots Excellurator 0.3ml/L

    Amino Treatment 0.4ml/L

    Multizyme 1ml/L

    Nitrogen 0.35ml/L

gallery_53977_1445_342478.jpg day 35 (clockwise from rear... Critical Jack 1, Chronic Ryder, Critical Jack 2)

By day 45, Critical Jack 2 was proving to be massive for an auto (1.55m from the floor), the light was up at max height and I had about 6 inches clearance. She was flowering nicely, I had to remove some of the lower feeble stems, and I also bent some of the main stems at the sides over towards the free space at the back to stop the buds being crushed as the tent sucks in, and also to give me some space to pull her away from the Chronic Ryder.... it was getting a bit congested in the middle of the tent. She was getting light from her own Helios Pro 2 and a bit of spread from the Helios 6.

Chronic Ryder was moving in the right direction, well into flowering, she was getting frosty and the flowers were building nicely. she was about a week ahead of Critical Jack 2, and was getting the full force of the Helios 6 at 10 inches.

Critical Jack 1 was smaller and about 10 days behind her sister.

    gallery_53977_1445_130294.jpg day 45

At day 66 the Girls had put on weight and were flowering beautifully.... those Critical Jacks were huge, Critical Jack 1 hit the light so I had to bend her main cola over a little. She has at least another month, so will have more room to spread out once I've harvested the Chronic Ryder, which was almost done, she's supposed to finish on day 65, but one day later than advertised, she was still pushing out new flowers. I reckon she had another week before I start a 10 day flush

I harvested Chronic Ryder at day 78, she gave me 4.5 ounces of very heavy stick bud

    gallery_53977_1445_441499.jpg Critical Jack 2 at day 72

I harvested Critical Jack 2 on day 80, and she delivered an amazing 8.8 ounces of nice zingy lemony bud, that initially picked you up,then came crashing down with a heavy stone.... nice stuff.

    gallery_53977_1445_83035.jpg Criticaal Jack 1 at day 88

I chopped Critical Jack1 on daay 93.... much laater than the advertised 75 days, but she had the tent to herself for the laast 2 weeks, so had a chance to use all the lights and fatten up, giving me 6.1 ounces...

So, @Midget my poxy Helios lights managed to deliver 19.4 ounces of prime, grade A bud from a 1.4m2 tent and 3 Autos.

Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

Currently I'm growing some Dutch Passion Blue Automazar, and Think Different, I'll let you know how I get on....

Thanks for taking a look, and I hoe I get a better welcome this time :)

  7. It could be to do with the root damage iv caused, but iv noticed no height growth when using all LED, yet when the plants where under CFL i could see the growth overnight... So iv had to be creative...again and find a way to hang the light socket firmly, as the straps offered with the tent just swing about and the light doesnt point downwards.... So using the straps iv used a photography post diagnally and cable tied the light socket. The socket is a photography lamp, which is just a normal light socket, with a 6 light Adapter, i have one 55w light in the centre, and the surrounding globes are 125W each, i picked them up of ebay for aprox $13 each. On the sides i just have two arlec spotlights from bunnings ($13) and swapped the globes for 65 W each, i have another two for the other corners but dont think ill need them untill the plants are bigger.

the two large containers are upside down to get the plants closer to the light, and upside down, along with the extra large tray i found in the garage, it prevents any leakage... looks weired i know, but who give a sh*t lol.

As suggested by forum members clay pebbles only isnt a good medium for 1st time grower. lots of error can be made with nutrients without having a buffer for the roots, also i learnt first hand today those clay balls sure can hold heat. I put canna coco on the top layer and added alot of water to get the canna coco to travel down the pot, by days end of the plants been in the sun, the canna coco medium was nice and cool, but the pebbles under it were still very warm, so i gently tipped the pots on the side, emptied them, lined them with fabric screen material, added stones at the bottom, then a 50/50 canna coco/pebbles mix. While the roots were exposed i sprayed some of the cloning solution (not the gel, just the clone feed which is supposed to help establish root systems) then dipped the roots in the canna coco before re-planting.

g13xwidow , devil and dreamtime and my mystery bag seed sativa which is very nice.

feeding 1/2 strength cana coco, flairform grostorm, rhizofuel, 1 drop of superthrive per litre almost every feed and always adjust ph pre feed down to at least 6.

these boys n girls are loving it and responding well to the mars 400.

heat stability is awesome, fluctates between 22-28 or so. ambient humidity is nuts today.not usually over 50 but 90!

    big storm coming.

hope to share some good vibes over coming weeks :-)

p.s I wish id bought the 600, but glad I erred on side of caution as the heat factor seems perfect for my size tent.

    any questions happy to answer.

    All is good.

I think it is at this point that the two oldest plants are starting to actually enter veg.

As far as my thinking there were bugs, I think peices of coco just get picked up and carried around onto the leaves or something. I have'nt seen anything like it since then.

Everything is looking really good. I can even see roots beginning to come through at the bottom of the pots, so I will buy some big pots tomorrow and re-pot them once and for all. I have been watering just enough to give them a decent feed without saturating the coco.

    Peace.
