Progress So Far
Hi Stoners, Im making this glog to show everyone my progress on my first grow, Texada timewarp, so far:
I sprouted 3 seeds and placed them into small square seedling pots, 4 days later only one had shown so i took that one and put it in a discrete location not too far into the bush. I nurtered it thru the seedling stage and at one point encountered a small black scaly thing on its stem. No need to worry a few squirts of perynthium on the underside of the leaves, at the base of the stem and on the little bugger, the pests were gone. Once she grew to her 3rd node, i transplanted her into a 4 gallon pot which was dug into the ground. So far i have begun the Topping process to maximise the yield and fed her some seasol.
Will post monthly updates on its progress
Hello, im back with some more progress on my little baby. Ive topped it a bit early and now shes only grown one new sprout, which is mutant for some reason, ive watered it and i think its just because of lack of sun or some shit. Heres some pics
Shoot which wont grow through

Week 4 + 5
Week 4
Day 23-28: The strawberry dream was eaten. I woke up to an empty pot again and this was my only SD seed so I guess I won't find out if it survived it's pink spots or how it tastes. I planted another lemon haze auto to compensate and I'll be guarding it with my life. The lemon haze seems to be doing fine albeit growing a bit slow initially. Growth is really picking up, see pics for next week -->
Week 5
Day 29-35: Feeding the lemon haze with 1/4 strength seasol + powerfeed combined with 1/3 strength miracle gro-max feed for tomatoes. [3/4 spoon MG + 35ml seasol to 9L of water] Feeding once or twice a week, watering every 2-3 days. There are small white hairs on the lemon haze already, does this mean it's entered pre-flower? As far as I know it means it's definitely a female too. The newly planted Lemon Haze has sprouted and has it's first little leaves.
Going to buy another fence/barrier today to put around the plants. I'm still reeling from losing 2/3 plants but what can you do? I'll know for every future grow that pests are something to be very wary of outdoors.
These pics are from Day 32.
Day 35:

Closer
So getting closer to how i want it...
Got 40psi 240v water pump that is getting a nice mist in both tubs. Lotta pressure so had to upgrade hose and use clamps on all joins but it was still bouncing and noisy as so I added another line with a tap and am bleeding some water back into the rezzy. Hanging it from bungee has also helped.
Got cool tube working and nice turbo g fan that has temp controls and is reasonably quiet. Also have a 200mm exhaust and 150mm intake which so far have kept temps around 28 and with the intake directed at the rezzy it's keeping the water at 24
Just sweating on the short range timers i got coming so i can run the pump 30sec on and 240secs off, at the moment with only 15min on/off timer i'm getting slight leaks from the tub lids.
Plants have been secondary whilst been settinup not to mention crazy busy but doing ok.

Need help
Hey this is my first ever time growing, I've tried to do so much research on how to grow but everyone says something different, I wanna try both indoor and outdoor since I already have a tent with a fan but only 2 UV lights and I've been told UV is not good for plants so I've been trying to figure out what are the best lights to use, I've started some outside but most of them grow a little then fall over and die I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong the soil always seems to be really dry even when I water them quiet often but I'm scared of drowning them. Someone please help me! -

Happy Frog!
Sup felllow OZ Stoners,
First off, thumbs up for a fantastic Glog site. Well, been an outdoor grower for some time now, but decided to do it indoors, for stealthy reasons obviously. Anyway, recently ordered some seeds from Bonza and just gotta tell you that they have the stealthiest delivery in the world, plus they've got some awesome seeds, you should check 'em out. Currently in my grow room.
Acapulco Gold
Holy Grail Kush
Purple Wreck
Cotton Candy
Double Dutch
Exodus Kush
Mango
White Widow
Samara Ultraviolet (Auto)
All popped and recently transplanted them from jiffy plugs to 3 gallon container. Will be updating the little girls later, but so stoke to a start of a great New Year.
Cheers!

Flowering indica
G'day good people, this is my first entry and upload ect: I took a clone of a mates Gunja plant who was unsure of the strain but it looked like a hearty plant, I had it on veg under 400mh for about 3weeks, I would have liked have left it for another 3 on veg but supply was dwindling. This Indica is growing in 70 %coco peat and 30%perlite, I am using 25ltr of median with a recycling system holding 50 later reservoir . this specimen has been on flower for 3 weeks and due to bugs I had to interrupt by pest control, it always puts plants back when you spray for control, I am using Dutch master original, at this stage Potash, Pythoff which is a root/soil conditioner, I feed 5 times a day for 15 minutes only when lights are on, all fans and pumps are off when light goes off, extractor fan removes the stale air in less than five minutes, there is a fan pushing air from bottom of tent another blowing across the top of plant and into canopy, I have the 600w hps on at night so the temperature change is not to vast. Temperature is between 18 - 30 c, humidity between 40 and 60, water is RAIN water sitting around 20 c ( cooler water holds more oxygen )which does lead to a smoother and cleaner smoke if cured correctly, it also tends to hold a stronger smell -

First time Grower from the Pacific North West.
These are all pics from the beginning of construction to current time. This is my first grow and I wasn't totally prepared for it. 13 plants were given to me 2 weeks before I had my room set up. I took them on anyways. I didn't know it right away but 3 had mites and within the first week I saw webbing on these poor little girls still in cups. They also had stress from transporting them and looked in poor health. I was able to beat the mites off with some neem oil mixed with dish soap. They were small enough to just dip into a solution and then rinse after a few hours, no lights on them. I also fixed the other issues like nute deficiencies and PH balance.
I only had 2-125 watt CFLs to start with, which was fine for these tiny plants. Within the first 2 weeks I did more construction on the room to better insulate it and got a light upgrade. From 2-CFL's to a 400 watt MH bulb with a reflective hood. There was lots going on and I studied daily on my next steps. I spent at least 2 hours a day with the girls. I made a few mistakes here and there like giving them nutes to soon, having the light to close and letting my dog into the room. I'm sure that the mistakes I've made have set them back at least a week, maybe 2. I've still kept them looking healthy and the new growth was great. I can already tell who is strong and who is weak by how they react to over nuting or under watering.
I have 2 Girl Scout plants that are tuff and rarely burn from over nuting, 2 Grape Ape that show every little mistake, 1 Fire Headband OG and 3 that I've called What Da Phuk, Daddy's Girl and Zombie. Zombie should have died long ago. She came to me with the others but refused to grow and was consolidated and then planted outside just before the rains came. She was 3 plants that I put into 1 pot then planted outside. 1 completely died and the other 2 formed the Zombie. She is also in the flowering stage and appears to be farther along than the others. Although she is only 10 inches tall with almost no bush. Just a few big bud zones.
I upgraded again around week 4 of Veg to a way better ballast and 800 watts of MH bulb. During this entire process I was studying different combinations of nutes. I'm pretty sure I've found a good mix and will share it with whoever wants to know. I have not spent a fortune on stuff like top name brands and unnecessary crap. I've spent a whopping $600 so far on nutes, ballast, bulbs, building materials, insulation, fans and light hoods. Not all at once, within the last 10 weeks or 5 pay days. The nutes I have should last 2 years as long as I stay under 10 plants per harvest. That should be the last time I spend anywhere near that much out of my own pocket. After my first harvest I should be able to start saving over 300 a month because I won't be buying herb anymore. It will basically start paying for itself, including the electricity.
I have been paying attention every day and worrying about every little change that didn't seem right. I'm certain that my second harvest will double the first, so I hope. I should have started trimming under the net earlier and watering more often, at least 2 weeks before hand.
I've had 1 Pro Grower come see my set up and he couldn't believe it was my first grow. I explained the fine tuning I've done and plan on doing on my next harvest. I'm on the right path. I've filled lots of squares in the net and have another week or 2 to fill more before letting it all grow. At least I think I do. There are pestles popping out of every bud zone, it started about a week ago. I keep moving and spreading the branches and bud zones, filling more each day.
The flowering nutes were introduced about a week ago and I have seen at least 2-4 inches of growth all over. Feed, feed and then water. It was every 4th day and now it's every other day. I feed 8 plants 4 gallons of RO water 2 to 3 times a week now.
It's not all just kicking back and watching it grow, not at all. It's work and you must study and be precise with your mixing, Don't feed very cold or hot water to your plants. Get a PH meter and check your liquid levels prior to and after each feeding. I try to keep the liquid PH level at or around 5.8 and my run off tests at 6.6-6.8 which is great. I bought my PH pen online for $12 bucks, you don't need anything better. I calibrate it with the 7.0 and 4.2 liquid about once a month. It rarely gets off by more than .1 or .2.
When I built and started the scrog net I did it all solo which was a hard task. I needed help but I get up early on weekends and get right to it. By the time any of my buddies get around to showing up I'm basically done. My wife had no interest in helping until last week, now she helps with almost every feeding. It's a lot of work and if your a lazy person then you could be wasting your time trying to grow for yourself.
By trial and error I have learned so much these last few months. I have the best part yet to do and can't wait for it all to blow up. I will be a Lord of Herb.
I always have questions about what I'm doing and ideas I have to improve what I have going on. I don't have any grower friends yet or people with more knowledge than me that I can get quick answers from on a daily basis, just ghetto growers that want to use my ideas. Sure they each have more than 5 grows under their belts but none have actually studied.
This last weekend I cleared most of the shoots under the scrog that wouldn't reach the light in the next week and made some clones. I figure I'll do 2 harvests in a row then take a break for 3 months during the summer. I already know that I'm changing the way I built my scrog net. I need access to all sides from under and above. I also needed to space them a little farther apart from one another. I'm doing 8 plants with a 4'6" X 4'6" net this time, next time will only be 6 plants. My veg growth was amazing and the root systems on each plant when I transplanted from 2 gallon to 5 gallon were great. Each plant was full of pearl white roots, and lots of them. No brown roots or foul smell. Just very healthy and ready for their new pots.
My ventilation system is where I've been having issues. During early veg I had a squirrel fan hooked up to the light hood sucking the hot air out with a 6" booster fan blowing cool air in from the other side of the room. I was only using 400 watts of MH bulb at the time and the temp stayed around 75. When I switched to 800 watts the room, of course, got hotter. I moved the squirrel fan to the other side of my 8 X 8 room and added a splitter to it so I could suck cool air in from outside of the room and have it split into 1-4 foot section of 6" duct line hooked straight to the air cooled hood and a 6 foot piece of 4" duct line blowing at ground level. I had the 6" booster fan about 5 feet away from the hood sucking the air out and through another 6 feet of duct.
I switch air cooled hoods just before flowering time. I had a 13" X 24" and changed to 26" X 26" when I switched to 1000 watts of HPS bulb. I moved the hood up to 24" away from the canopy. The room again got hotter. I added a 6" booster fan to the 4 foot section of duct coming from the squirrel fan to the hood. I'm not sure if it's needed where I have it or not.
Here's a recap of my fan set up. I have the big squirrel fan sucking cool air in and being split into a 6 foot section of 4" duct blowing at ground level and a 2 foot section of 6" duct hooked to a 6" booster fan that is then hooked to a 18" section of 6" duct and connected to the hood in a perfectly straight line, no bends in the duct. I'm not sure if the booster fan is in the right spot or not but the temp is maintaining at or below 82 degrees. I have a 8-10 foot section of duct coming from the other end of the hood but only 2 feet of it is in the room. It's hooked to a coal filter. Inside the room I have 3 big box fans at different angles, 1-4 foot OSC fan blowing mainly over the top of the sea of green, 1-2 foot OSC fan on the opposite side of the room sitting on the corner of the nets frame blowing over top and an 8" OSC fan under the net. The temp fluctuates from 77 to 82 which I think is fine. The humidity goes from the upper 60's to the mid 50's.

5 weeks
Not what I expected after over a month, definately too early to start straight outdoors mostly due to all the rain and 5 out of 7 overcast days a week, ph and overwatering issues haven't helped either. Decided to plug in the 400 watt hps to move things along and it has, all the brown new growth dissapeared after one day under the light???
Taken this morning, feed day today so might add a bit of Epsom salts an see how they fare

Assistance
Ok my first grow and I am looking for help to see if anything wrong or help I need from here.
I grew all 3 from seed (great smoko), all popped together and have been together since, I have them in coco and under 130watt cfl 6500k while they small thinking of turning to a HPS setup when they are bit older.
They do spend sometime outside when sun is good.
All 3 are at different stages 1 definitely better than other 2.
I checked ph of run off it came out at 6 and I am doing 1 on 1 off watering with nutes.
I am basically throwing open to any opinions on the 3 and if I am having issues as 1 is struggling little compared to others.
Cheers in advance.

Hi ya all.....
I am into sharing with you my method of all year growing using a combination of 600w grow light for vegetive growth (6 weeks x 20hrs) and then using mother nature and the sun 5-6 weeks) to produce juicy tasty fat buds.
I germinate my seeds in small pots of good quality potty mix with gravel at the bottom of each pot for drainage. I make small hole in the soil with my finger as deep as my finger nail and drop a single seed in each. I make sure my soil level is at ph 6.5 and the soil is moist but not over wet. I then place them in a sunny location and I check the soil daily and add small amounts of water if the potty mix feels dry.
My seeds rise from the ground after a couple of days and then start to grow into little seedlings. At 7 days they will have the second set of leaves with serrated edges well-formed and the new centre sprout appearing. By now the seedling plant should be around 40mm high.
At around 10 days when my seedlings have formed the 3rd set of leaves I select 16 of the best and healthiest looking plants and gently transplant into 10Lt plastic pots. The pots have gravel in the 1/4 bottom and then topped with a mix of 50% organic compost mix and 50% potty mix. I water the plants in well and leave in the sunny spot for 4 days.
I then take the 2 week old seedlings in to the indoor grow room.
My room is 2.5m x 2.5m X 2.5m the walls are lined with reflective aluminium sheeting. I have it well ventilated with equal powered intake fans and an exhaust ceiling fan. I also run an oscillating household fan to help circulate the air.
The stand is a 2m x 2m x 300mm heavy duty moulded plastic tray supported on milk crates. I have drilled 6 small drainage holes that sit above a runoff collection bucket.
My light source is a 600w HPS. I run this light for 20hrs on and 4 hrs off over a 24 hr. period.
For the 2 days I hang my light a fair way from the seedlings, no closer than 1 metre. The little plant is shocked and adjusting to the new environment and the light being too close will burn and kill the plant.
For the next 7 days I use a water mister only and spray the plants once per day with water only. Do not use any fertilising food at this stage as it will kill your plants.
After 7 days my little plants look happy and have adjusted to the 20 hr. light cycle. The new leaf sprouts are shooting and the plant is obviously now in grow mode. I drop my light gradually over the next four days until the globe is 200ml from the top of the small plant. The globe will need to rise as your plants grow.
The 1st addition of vegetive grow food is done at 25% of the recommended dose. If the manufactures recommended dose is 20mls per 10lts, then reduce it to 5mls per 10Lts.
For the 2nd week of the indoor grow room I feed each plant 250mls of the watered down feed solution once per day. I still lightly spray the leaf with water only. On the 7th day I feed only water. This assists in clearing any sodium build up in the soil.
For the 3rd week the food dose is raised to 50% of the recommended dose. This level should not be exceeded as it will cause nutrient lock in. Again I feed once per day each plant now receives 330mls and on the 7th day I use water only.
The 4th week is much the same with a volume increase to 500mls per day. The plants are now little shrubs with heaps of lush growth appearing daily. They now stand at a height of 500mm from soil to top
I revert the food back to water 'only' for 2 days and then I do not feed for another 2 days.
So the plants are now 6 weeks old. 2 weeks as outdoor seedlings and 4 weeks of intense artificial light and vegetative food. This is when the lights are reduced to 11 hrs on and 13 hrs off. During this sleep period the plants must not be exposed to any light.
The plants are now on a new food source. The new food is produced for flowering plants.
Again I start this feeding process at 50% of rec. dose.
After the 2 day fasting period and the light reduction the feeding process begins. I feed the plants twice per day 500mls to each plant. I do this when the lights come on and just before the lights go off.
After 7 to 10 days the plants are showing their sex. Any male plants need to be removed as soon as identified.
After another week the female buds are starting to form as the feeding process continues.
This is when I remove the plants out into the outdoors.
Make sure you find a sunny safe place for your heads to mature. Continue feeding your plants for another 3 weeks. The last week before harvest I stop feeding altogether. I watch for the little white hairs on the buds to start turning brown, then I harvest.
Happy days

Second Summer Seedlings, Continued...
Been a while since updating this grow blog, should keep better track of things haha !
So what we have going here is :
- (Strain)(Date Planted from Seedling)
- Sleestak x Skunk (2/12)
- Sleestak x Skunk (5/12)
- Super Lemon Haze (28/10)
- Northern Lights (Clone)
- Northern Lights (Clone)
- Unknown (Either Sleestak or SLH)
As I am a bit of a novice with this all, it seems the biggest girl of the lot is having some troubles, I guess its either some nutrient lockout or not enough of something, or, too much of something ? I've tried adding some "RichGro Complete Trace Elements" but I'm 99% sure that just burnt her more ! Since then have flushed her (and the other girls) a few times with just regular tap water, but I'm not too sure on what to do next, specifically, what to add, or, how to get her in better shape..
At the moment Bunnings is pretty much the go to for anything, once I have a bit of a shopping list I might try get some specific things from a nursery (Dolomite, Shroom Compost etc) but, apparently they're a bit nosy so, might give that a miss (though I think they'd be the way to go for soil etc)
https://cannabis.community.forums.ozstoners.com/gallery/album/1186-second-summer-grow/
Is a link to the album of the photos. I'm a bit confused with how to get the album to simply "show up" within a post haha
Any help would be appreciated, as the last thing I want is for things to go totally Due South (haha! anyone remember that show?! ) It might be as simple as adding something to fix up the nitrogen levels? or maybe even just totally re-pot them (though, would that stress them out bad ?)
I'm slowly getting my shit together to figure out a solid soil mix (Perlite, etc) and ideally aiming to be able to just give the girls tap water without having to screw around with ph-ing the water (just annoying and so fiddly)
Water Run off from the biggest girl, around 6.5ph or so

Chronic: Need for Weed (teaser clip)
I've released a small clip, this may or may not be in the final film, it's a bit of a pro-stoner sort of sequence but the whole film in the end will hopefully appeal to everyone, not just smokers that's the idea anyway.

Let me know what you think.
EDIT: PS - watch in HD if you can, it looks much nicer

Deciding on wether or not to grow. Hmmmmm
Im currently deciding wether or not i should start growing a few plants.
The main thing i need to decide on is what type of strain i want to try and grow.
If anyone has any tips on what i should try, let me know.
Also a good and reliable site to buy seeds from.
Cheers.
