  4. So getting closer to how i want it... Got 40psi 240v water pump that is getting a nice mist in both tubs. Lotta pressure so had to upgrade hose and use clamps on all joins but it was still bouncing and noisy as so I added another line with a tap and am bleeding some water back into the rezzy. Hanging it from bungee has also helped. Got cool tube working and nice turbo g fan that has temp controls and is reasonably quiet. Also have a 200mm exhaust and 150mm intake which so far have kept temps around 28 and with the intake directed at the rezzy it's keeping the water at 24 Just sweating on the short range timers i got coming so i can run the pump 30sec on and 240secs off, at the moment with only 15min on/off timer i'm getting slight leaks from the tub lids. Plants have been secondary whilst been settinup not to mention crazy busy but doing ok.

  5. Greetings fellow cultivators..... This is my second thread on this site, the first was a brief enquiry about growing in Aus, and to be quite frank, the response from @midget pissed me off. Hardly the warmest welcome...... I'm no newbie to growing, and I thought I should show you what my crappy Helios LEDs can do...... I'm growing in a 1.4m x 1.4m tent with 6" air exhaust and 4" intake, initially running 24/7... The plants:- 2 x Critical Jack Auto - This strain by Dinafem has genetics from all sorts... Critical Mass, Jack Herer, Shiva Shunk, Northern Lights #5, O Haze and Lowryder. It is a high CDB strain, and takes 70 days from seedling to harvest. It reaches up to 2 or 3 feet high under appropriate conditions, with lots of light, warm temperature, and an aired substrate. But it doesn´t grow much if the conditions are not perfect, yet quality is always good. The quality of the final product is what makes the difference from less enhanced strains. I should look forward to hard tight buds, strong odours, completely covered with resin, and intense sweet flavour, with hints of lemon and frankincense. 1 x Chronic Ryder Auto - This is another strain from the Joint Doctor... a cross of Lowryder #2 and Chronic, taking 65 days to harvest. It can pack on a lot of weight due to its dense, prolific budding, producing very large, resinous nuggets with 12-14% THC. I planted the seeds direct in 100% Coco each in a 22L airpot, covered them with clingfilm, and 3 days later they germinated and popped their little heads through. I gave them a 0.6EC feed and the next day 0.7. They stayed on 0.7EC till day 6, and on day 7, I upped the EC to 0.8, which they stayed on until day 9. On day 10, I increased the EC to 0.9. I fed them the House and Garden Coco 2 part nutrients, and they had 1x Helios 6 and 2x Helios 2's, 28" above the plants on a 18/6 schedule. As well as the H&G Coco nutes. they got the following H&G additives.... Drip Clean 0.1ml/L Roots Excelurator 0.2ml/L Amino Treatment 0.1ml/L Nitrogen 27% Boost 0.1ml/L ....plus they get a little CalMag (I use 0.1ml/L as an additional buffer in my 0.2EC tap water), and I use Silicon as a pH up. The plants also receive silicon from the Amino Extract, and I understand the Coco is enhanced with CalMag as well as being buffered. I hand watered them 0.5L pH 5.8, 3-4 times a day to get a semi-hydroponic effect, and they seemed to lap it up... day 10 By day 21, they were hungry and thirsty, taking feeds 3 times a day by hand, at EC1.2 and pH 5.8. Run off was EC 0.7. Additives this week: Drip Clean 0.1 ml/L Roots Excellurator 0.3 ml/L Amino Extract 0.3 ml/L Nitrogen 0.3 ml/L Multizyme 0.75 ml/L I finally got round to setting up the Harvest Master control unit, which I used for previous DWC grows in a sealed environment running CO2...... well this is a tent, and although CO2 might help with high temps.... there is too much extraction, and I would be forever pumping CO2 in. I'm just using it as a simple environment controller. The Harvest Master has worked wonders keeping the temps and RH within reasonable limits, now I get a max of 28 and a min of 22, and RH is between 50 and 70%. The lights are now on 20/4.... another bonus of the Harvest Master and it's excellent climate control. day 21 On day 29, I installed the Blumat watering system, nice piece of kit..... By day 35 ECwas 1.6, pH 5.8 Drip Clean 0.1ml/L Roots Excellurator 0.3ml/L Amino Treatment 0.4ml/L Multizyme 1ml/L Nitrogen 0.35ml/L day 35 (clockwise from rear... Critical Jack 1, Chronic Ryder, Critical Jack 2) By day 45, Critical Jack 2 was proving to be massive for an auto (1.55m from the floor), the light was up at max height and I had about 6 inches clearance. She was flowering nicely, I had to remove some of the lower feeble stems, and I also bent some of the main stems at the sides over towards the free space at the back to stop the buds being crushed as the tent sucks in, and also to give me some space to pull her away from the Chronic Ryder.... it was getting a bit congested in the middle of the tent. She was getting light from her own Helios Pro 2 and a bit of spread from the Helios 6. Chronic Ryder was moving in the right direction, well into flowering, she was getting frosty and the flowers were building nicely. she was about a week ahead of Critical Jack 2, and was getting the full force of the Helios 6 at 10 inches. Critical Jack 1 was smaller and about 10 days behind her sister. day 45 At day 66 the Girls had put on weight and were flowering beautifully.... those Critical Jacks were huge, Critical Jack 1 hit the light so I had to bend her main cola over a little. She has at least another month, so will have more room to spread out once I've harvested the Chronic Ryder, which was almost done, she's supposed to finish on day 65, but one day later than advertised, she was still pushing out new flowers. I reckon she had another week before I start a 10 day flush day 66 Chronic Ryder at day 66 I harvested Chronic Ryder at day 78, she gave me 4.5 ounces of very heavy stick bud Critical Jack 2 at day 72 I harvested Critical Jack 2 on day 80, and she delivered an amazing 8.8 ounces of nice zingy lemony bud, that initially picked you up,then came crashing down with a heavy stone.... nice stuff. Criticaal Jack 1 at day 88 I chopped Critical Jack1 on daay 93.... much laater than the advertised 75 days, but she had the tent to herself for the laast 2 weeks, so had a chance to use all the lights and fatten up, giving me 6.1 ounces... So, @Midget my poxy Helios lights managed to deliver 19.4 ounces of prime, grade A bud from a 1.4m2 tent and 3 Autos. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it. Currently I'm growing some Dutch Passion Blue Automazar, and Think Different, I'll let you know how I get on.... Thanks for taking a look, and I hoe I get a better welcome this time

  6. My 3 bagseed plants are doing very nicely with my cheap combination of LED downlight and E27 globes surprisingly enough - despite comments suggesting they were crap - we'll see how they go when I flip. Feeding now at 3/4 of the recommended strength from the canna coco website - 2.5ml/L of A and B, calmagic 1ml/L and acetic acid 0.75ml/L to bring the pH down to about 5.8 They've been transplanted into 4L fabric pots and I think that might be the size I flower them in. I appear to have 2 indica phenotypes (guessing from the low, bushy stature and the leaf shape being shorter and fatter) and a sativa phenotype with longer, thinner more elegant leaves and a slower growth pattern. The two indica phenotypes have been topped once and are now undergoing LST to give me a flat canopy for flowering later. I have two perky clones from those two in plastic cups @ day 5 visible in the photos. The sativa phenotype has only had some LST - it's a very slow grower compared to the indica phenotypes and I'll cut some clones as soon as the 4 I have are settled. Tent arrived today - they outgrew the bucket when they needed transplanting to 4L pots and I'd made a spacebucket out of some cheap Bunnings black plastic storeage boxes but again, the little darlings are getting too big - hence the tent. Here are some more snaps.

  7. Introduction: These are my essay notes on Cannabis and its potential for legalisation in terms of recreational use. I will be using this essay to deliver critical information to the year 12 students of my High school in Bellingen. We know that medical cannabis is already sweeping the country and making steady progress from clinical studies but what about cannabis for recreational use? In these notes, I will outline the current progress in terms of legalisation for recreational and complete medical use, benefits in terms of health & economics etc.. 8. Hello Stoners, We really need to change our image in the community! There are so many people enjoying what we enjoy, and I know I am honest. I don't cheat, I don't steal, I don't extort, I don't rip anybody off, I live an honest life, I pay my taxes, but I love the weed! We really have to convince everyone that we simply enjoy what we enjoy! I am not interested in 'Taking someone to the Cleaners'; 'Ripping someone off' or cheating anyone. I am sure I am similar to so many of you; I just want to enjoy my stuff, and escape the horribleness of the world. Everyone else can do what they wish, I don't care! I am just happy to escape! We need to make the general community believe that marijuana doesn't create violence and dishonesty, but that it simply allows some a relief of the tortuous laws and human need to control! Shawn G

  12. Hi OzStoners When my legs and back got a bit much to surf so much (or lay rocks any more for that matter) I kinda was lost and didn't really know how to do the whole stay-at-home-dad thingo and remain somewhat active-my burdens and the kids can make it awkward to just hit it anytime its on sooo.... I started learning about cultivating cannabis last year through these boards and it has rekindled a deep interest in basically growin stuff and keeping somewhat fit at the same time. It also introduces the kids (well, mostly the lil one) to patience and understanding-as well as getting em out of the house anyway I'm thinking I'll just dump some garden shots and general discussion. It is not just a vinno thing it is a family thing. *here are some pics of little pretty flowers from around the yard that my little one gathered To start, I'll share a link to one of my favourite online shops-we get many things here. http://greenharvest.com.au/index.htm Peace and good growing friends. v

  13. Joined Ozstoners to experience other peoples views, Has been an interesting week, have learnt more about weed and how it has progressed( along with the people) Soooo many varieites Soooo many growing methods. I ordered my seed from Bonza , a week ago. Still waiting , at least I am getting closer to getting them soon. I haven't grown since 1999, so it will be interesting to see if the power plant still loves me Indoors and natural light is the way I am leaning at the moment. Up here in the tropics, beautiful one day perfect the next. Sun is shining the weather is sweet If anyone lives up this way, I would be happy to meet. Local knowledge is good knowledge. Can't wait to get some plants up and producing, the pain is a constant battle, But I will NOT be going back to man-made drugs, ever Fuck their drugs, law and society, it only serves a purpose to make $$$$$ nothing else.

  14. Hey Stoners, and welcome to the blogs. I'm sure most of you know what a blog is and may even have a few you visit regularly and perhaps even blog away yourself long into the night and day, but for those of you that have been wondering what exactly is a blog I decided to start this blog with a blog on blogging. So what is a blog? Well firstly why the word blog? Blog is taken from the words "web log" and is simply the term for an online log or journal where you can choose to further express yourself and creativity, as having a blog is much like your own personal web space all about you. It can take a little getting used to however most of it's pretty user friendly and straight forward so if you've never blogged before you should be on your way in no time. The fact it's all integrated with forums makes it easier of course too. If you want to change the layout of your blog page like I have all you have to do is drag and drop, you can also add more default and custom "Content Blocks" and 420Crew members can also create private blogs for themselves and if they wish inviting whoever they wish to read them. For a good start with using these blogs and to make life easier check out the "Community Blog Help" file first. Anyway peoples hope you all like the new blog option as much as we do because now we can all get blogged off our faces! If you're already a seasoned blogger and got some tips and ideas to share for the rest of the community then blog them here to help everyone get started blogging.

  15. G'day! Thanks for jumping on my glog! I hope I get the idea of what this is all about right, it feels good to pen my thoughts in a place I feel I may be accepted by like minded folks! Here goes... Just going to kick things off with a bit of background about what I've been up to grow-wise over the past few years and where I'm headed now. Like many folks do, 4 years ago or so I got jack of the repeated hustle of trying to find decent Ganj to support both my physical and mental health and acquired a small 800mm square by 1600mm high tent with some cheap accessories, a poxy LED grow light and minimal knowledge. Not much has changed really, as far as hardware goes. I still rock the same tent although now run a 400w HPS, bigger extraction and some pretty inventive cooling. Things kicked it up a notch when my beautiful girl brought me a great book, The Cannabis Grow Bible. It was then I started experimenting with cloning and I've been running off the same clones for a few years now and seem to have found a bit of a settled in groove. First attempt was a very poorly purple haze which turns out was acquired from wish that we dubbed the Nyorple. (I found out a good month after planting that the seed was from wish.com) and an auto strain given to me by another mate. after a looooong 6 month cycle and a shitty end result, I bit the bullet and invested in some good genetics in the form of Vanilla Kush from barneys that came with a bonus Blue OG and Green Crack seed thanks to The Attitude seed bank. What a ride it has been since then! The next 3 grows all came from clones from the first mother and so far my biggest yield has been a couple g's under 8 bags from my little tent, that was a proud moment! Currently I have a Vanilla Kush and Blue OG in flower in the tent, the same in clones waiting for the next round. Blue OG, Vanilla Kush and white lightning clone mothers as well as White Lightning and Vanilla kush outdoors. Since then, Myself and a good mate of mine Dr.Slick have created some amazing tasty buds, up there with some of the best we have seen around for the past couple of years. I don't like to blow my own trumpet too much but it finally dawned on us this year that its time to wake up to the fact that we seem to have a knack for growing some tasty weed! The compliments are a little overwhelming at times! Personally I think the main ingredient in growing good Ganja is love, which we have plenty of! Beyond that it comes down to open mindedness, feel and patients. There is nothing like sharing tasty fruits with the ones you love! I think that drive has a lot to do with the quality that has come from out tents over the last couple of years. The last year or so has lead me to a new invention which I hope will take the home grown cannabis world by storm, although things are slow at the moment, I have faith that one day my family will be a part of the budding cannabis industry in Australia. The other passion I hope to follow is writing. I'm super-grateful to have found a place like OzStoners where I can start to write about my passions and our collective love for these beautiful plants. I look forward to sharing more of what we get up to in coming months and years! Hope everyone likes what we have to share with the community and I look forward to many a convo, deep or not with anyone that wants to cave a chat! Thanks for reading! JIm

  16. GARDEN STLYE: Indoor GROWING MEDIUM/SOIL STRUCTURE: Coir with perlite vermiculate mix POT/CONTAINER SIZE: 2 Gal geopots NUTRIENT/FEED MIX: Professors nutrients (PN) a+b @ 25ml per 10l, PN flower booster, Canna Rhizotonic (intermittant), Mycobiome arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi. FEEDING CYCLE: Daily watering with nutrient mix at around 700ml per plant (VK a little less), flush every 2 weeks. FLOOR SPACE: 800mmx800mm AREA HEIGHT:1600mm LIGHTING: HPS WATTAGE:400w AVG TEMPERATURE/HUMIDITY: weather dependant, usually around 30-40% when light is on @ 28-30 degrees. NUMBER OF PLANTS: 2, Blue OG and Vanilla Kush DAYS IN FLOWER:35 -40 HARVEST YIELD: Unknown, last lot with 2xVK yielded around 200g left is Blue og, right VK 3 of the lovely Blue OG heads taking shape Its been difficult to achieve my usual spread with the 2 different strains. normally the bushy VK spreads wall-to-wall by about week 3 of flowering but the blue OG being a more sativa style plant, keeping them all low and level has been a challenge. The Geoties have proved a handy invention especially this time round! The towel just covers my nutrient container to keep the light out. Both plants are on an old basket out of an old bar freezer sitting upside-down to circulate air under the pots. Intake is directed underneath the pots. Beautiful, typical indica behaviour from the VK. I love the lush, thick leaves. Vanilla Kush is a gorgeous plant and the purple buds look truly alien when finished! I use both SCROG net and Geoties to achieve the bend in the stem and to spread the heads. Keeps the pressure off the SCROG netting, allowing it to stay straight and spread the lighter branches more effectively This grow has been an interesting one! It's been by first attempt at growing anything other than the VK and the Blue OG is a significantly different plant, leaning more towards Sativa-dominant in its appearance. Both plants have been topped only once and the Bluey has been accidently "supercropped" once as a result of going a bit too hard with the LST. I had never really considered supercropping in the past but stumbling on it by accident has been eye-opening. It seemed to thrive! Among all this, particularly at the beginning of their life I've been occupied with other things so they've had less attention than usual. I don't anticipate anything like the previous couple in yield but I consume far less these days so its not an issue. Although the last 3 weeks have been known to really fill out the girth of the heads in the past so who knows! Also, I'm thinking the Blue OG longs for more nitrogen, in the next few days I'll pick up some HyGen Nitro K and it should sort it out. Has anyone else had fun and games with OG strains lacking nitrogen before? I've got a good mate that has had the same issue with straight up OG Kush in the past, but was it an isolated issue? Open to ideas and we'll see how it plays out!

  20. GLOVE GOO This is the strongest concentrate you can make easily with no chemistry equipment or chemicals. You will need to harvest a plant to get it though. METHOD 1) While harvesting your plants you should always wear rubber or latex gloves. The powder-free, food grade latex types are the best. During the manicuring stage of the harvest you will be handling fresh buds and a lot of the resin and brown hairs will stick to your gloves, particularly the thumb and pointer finger. Change gloves regularly during the harvest because it gets very hard to manicure buds with resin caked all over your fingers, but don't throw away the dirty gloves. Turn them inside out as you pull them off and save them as you go. By the time you've finished harvesting even half a plant all the resin on the used gloves will have oxidised and turned a light or dark brown colour, depending on how long it's been left and how many brown hairs are in it. 2) Turn the gloves the right way out so the resin is on the outside (the way they were when you were wearing them). I do this by gently blowing them up like a balloon until all the fingers pop back out. Do this over a clean piece of aluminium foil in case any of the resin falls off. 3) Let the glove deflate then stretch each finger out one at a time. The resin should fall straight off and any that doesn't will come off easily with a light scrape of your finger. A second person makes this part much easier since you'll be using both hands to stretch the glove fingers. 4) Chop the collected resin into small pieces with scissors and store in an airtight container. A glass container is best but plastic or an old tobacco tin is fine as well. HOW TO SMOKE GLOVE GOO Take a small amount of your glove goo (about half a match heads worth for your first time) and place it on top of a packed cone in your bong (a hash pipe is not a good way to smoke glove goo). Hold the lighter flame on the Goo for 3 to 5 seconds until it begins to soften or catches alight. Now start sucking down the cone as you would normally do, except suck a bit slower and keep the lighter flame on it until the cone is at least half gone. The goo will burn and melt down as the weed in the cone burns, and the whole thing should burn down without blocking up your cone piece, unless you suck it down too fast. Smoking goo this way will give you an instant and intense rush. We called it goo because everyone who tried it said that it felt like somebody had poured warm goo over their brain! It really is that strong

Just a little to let every one know that Demon Seeds is the best by far going around at the moment,Just came out of retirement and needed some seeds.I tried Planet Skunk 4 months ago and Im still waiting they had a very rude and confrontational manner when contacted after about a month.I decided to go with Demon Seeds after some very positive feedback from a friend,Imade a small order and was stoked when only 7 days later it arrived at its destination.Have just put in another order will let you know if they are still keeping up their outstandin level of service. 22. mr nice beans via mr nice auctions. g13xwidow , devil and dreamtime and my mystery bag seed sativa which is very nice. feeding 1/2 strength cana coco, flairform grostorm, rhizofuel, 1 drop of superthrive per litre almost every feed and always adjust ph pre feed down to at least 6. these boys n girls are loving it and responding well to the mars 400. heat stability is awesome, fluctates between 22-28 or so. ambient humidity is nuts today.not usually over 50 but 90! big storm coming. hope to share some good vibes over coming weeks :-) p.s I wish id bought the 600, but glad I erred on side of caution as the heat factor seems perfect for my size tent. any questions happy to answer. B.D anyways, this is approx 5 weeks from popping

  23. So a quick update to what has been happening. I have been doing some things in life and had been avoiding using much of the web, so please excuse my absence. The plant from the previous post had been grown out as much as possible. It was hit with a product called "Bitchin'" to try and get any form of female growth at all. None of which took place . So I decided to give a few extra weeks of flowering and allowed the seeds growing to mature into a solid seed. I was able to get a butt tonne of seeds from the plant and have already got them to seedling stage of growth. All of which will continue to be an outdoor, non treated, simply water and allow to grow process until ready to harvest I'll upload a few pics related to the seeding process shortly, once I have them sorted.

  24. Today id like to introduce you to the new lady. She is about 4-5 weeks old and a clone. I have been holding her back (no water, small pot, etc) as the box was on the wrong light cycle to get her involved. We are good to go now though. To repot her I first watered the new pot 48 hours before hand and left it to sit. I watered her 12 hours before repotting a heavy soaking. I then helped her move house and left her to it. No water once in the new home, everything is plenty wet already. She is a clone, and I have some height limitations so I have tipper her so she has 4 main laterals. I have started to train her straight away. I need her wide and bushy, not tall. Finally after a couple of days she has settled in and starting to show the benefits of a new home. ciao

  25. So here I go, attempting to get a routine on the ball and gather as much information I can in the process. I have a close mate who is growing and had a plant he was just going to "get rid of" so I suggested I'd take it and see what I can learn regarding growing as then I can start my own process. I've never attempted to grow before due to needing to learn so much information from scratch and generally as quickly as possible if it's a first experience. So receiving a plant at the point where it's flowering, allows me to learn the basics behind maintaining a plant once it's gone beyond the first few stages like germination etc. I have issues with learning and I generally don't even attempt to learn new things, but if I feel I can make use of the information I'm taking in, I can maintain a regular learning process and actually retain most of the information. Growing is something I've always wanted to try but just always had blown myself away with too much information trying to read up on how to grow a plan from start to crop to repeat. So here is some quick information regarding the plant I now am taking care of from what I have been told (vaguely and will update this with more information): * It's an AK47 * Not sure if clone or grown from seed. * It was grown alongside 2 females in a 1mX1m tent * It was grown as a male but currently being converted (not sure of terminology) to a female using *** (Will get name of product) which I'm spraying the plant 1x a day with.in the evenings. * It's outdoors during the day, being moved to chase sun and Indoors at night. * It's pollinating from opening flowers * It's producing lots of sacks/balls/pollinating idk what to call them. Of which I am attempting to remove one by one. * The soil is a coconut skin blend (Again will find out more information) I'll include photo's of the tops and the sacks that I can see. (Album "Bruce" which is apparently attached)

  26. Hey this is my first ever time growing, I've tried to do so much research on how to grow but everyone says something different, I wanna try both indoor and outdoor since I already have a tent with a fan but only 2 UV lights and I've been told UV is not good for plants so I've been trying to figure out what are the best lights to use, I've started some outside but most of them grow a little then fall over and die I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong the soil always seems to be really dry even when I water them quiet often but I'm scared of drowning them. Someone please help me!

  27. We've been lucky enough to be given access to a 100% legal i502 grow in the USA currently under operation and am very pleased to be sharing it's progress with you over the coming weeks right through to harvest time and processing. The i502 license covers the cultivation of cannabis, packaging raw cannabis heads and processing cannabis into oil and edibles. These photos are taken from live feeds set up throughout the licensed premises which are required for the license approval. The below shots were taken the day after the first clones went into the flower rooms. The lamp shades and lighting ballasts are SolisTek branded and the growing method is a DWC top feed hybrid system using coco.

  28. Since this is a Blog/Glog/Diary i thought i would start where everyone starts, and thats with obtaining the knowledge and information needed to start growing. I'll start my Growing in my next Glob entry (feel free to skip to the next entry As this one will just be ramberling some weird and wonderfull shit iv learnt in the last few weeks which was probably common sense to everyone else) So pretty much to the point, i want to grow weed, not only for myself to assist with relaxtion at the end of the day, but also to make canabis oil for its many health benefits, and with hope it could provide some relief or even ressession of my mums very rare cancer which we are yet to find a cure its carcinoid cancer and gives of spores which float in the bload and attatch to other parts of the body and grow another cancer, kind of like how plants reproduce. This cancer is uneffeted by chemo or radation therapy. Mum had an operation which was suppose to be a 5 night stay in hospital with an excision of 1 meter of lower intestine and bowl. The surgeon was incompetant and had made an error, and admitted to nurses he sat in his car on the side of the road contemplating whether he should go back to work/hospital and fix the error he made or go home....He went home. so it was pretty much 12 weeks in hospital after that as her intestines fused to her diaphram and where unable to function, and parts of internal staples came appart which causes septocemia, long story short she had a collapsed lung, septocemia, non-fuctioning bowl, and a blockage in the left artery. She was rushed to perth intensive care and was operated on...three more times in her 12 week stay - my mum is my life, im her clone, we look alike, we think alike, and were best friends and i would do anything for my mum, whether the cannabis oil can be the miracle we prey for, or whether it can take her pain away and give her some relaxation time, its so very worth the risks and if im able to make a little money on the side to help with my 2yr olds therapy sessions, while im at it then thats just dandy. What did plants need to survive and thrive? Plants need water, air, nutrients, and sunlight to grow. The energy from sunlight is used to chemically change water and carbon dioxide (air) into sugar. This process is called photosynthesis. what tyoe of lights will i use? First i looked into light, and the colour spectrum required to grow plants. so i wanted around 380nm - 750nm / wavelength of light for a great read up on lights check out http://www.weedfarmer.com/cannabis/lights.php Im taking a bit of a risk with LED lights, but i feel its my only option as where we reside gets really hot (38degrees average in summer) so HID lights were out of the question. Theres so many negative reveiws out there on LED grow lights but iv found most of the negative comments come from those who have been growing hydroponically for ages, and have grown familiar with particular methods, but as LED lights require a different balance of moisture and nutrients it means their technique would also need to change. For example if you were to work out maths as you usually would, then someone comes along and tries to show you another way of solving the same maths problem but with a different method you will always stick with what you know, as its easier. Also alot of threads are from 2011 and back in which LEDs werent as advanced as they are now. For example i purchased two LED lights from Ebay, One was a more recent design, the other was the previous design which did infact have crappy reviews but i figured for $55 with free shipping ill get it anyway, so here i have the old model, and the very next model As we can see the build and design has come a long way from a visual perspective, so perhaps the same could be said about the LED technology itself as all negative comments where mentioned at a time where people where purchasing the older cheap LED lights, but since new technology has hit the shelves, people are showing alot of great results using LED - especially the TOPLEDSELLER and MARSHYDRO on ebay. Here are some good reviews of LED growers which gives me hope it will work just as well. http://www.rollitup.org/t/marshydro-led-grow.839368/page-25 http://forum.grasscity.com/lighting/1233611-cheap-direct-china-led-grow-lights-work.html http://www.420magazine.com/forums/grow-lighting/206191-mars-ii-400w-led-topled-6.html http://www.420magazine.com/forums/420-sponsors/190983-top-led-grow-light-discount-461.html for the older 300W Full Spectrum design: ● 645nm~660nm, ● 620nm~630nm, ● 452nm~462nm, ● 430nm-440nm, ● 3000~4000K, ● 6500~7500K ● IR 730nm, looks dim/dull Product Specifications: ● Enhanced spectral output covering full PAR (400-730nm) promotes photosynthesis for Growth & Bloomming ● High Power Efficiency 3Watt Single Chip BridgeLux LEDs, Low Energy Consumption ● Active Cooling with Quasi-Mute Fan, Cool and Quieter ● Revolutionary Heat Aluminium PCB, Run 70% cooler than high intensity discharge (HID) lights The latest model has 5w chips, with "reflector panels" so it puts out more light. LED Layout: ● 650~660nm, ● 620~630nm, ● 460~470nm, ● 440~450nm, ● Warm White, ● Neutral White Key Features:: ● Enhanced spectral output covering full PAR (400-660nm) promotes photosynthesis for Growth & Bloomming ● High Power Efficiency 3Watt and 5Watt Single Chip BridgeLux LEDs, Low Energy Consumption ● Active Cooling with Quasi-Mute Fan, Cool and Quieter ● Revolutionary Heat Aluminium PCB, Run 70% cooler than high intensity discharge (HID) lights As you can see with the LEDS being 660nm i am going to need a more intense light added to get the complete spectrum im after, but im sure ill be able to sort something out with a seperate globe. Also people seem to search for the Watts of lights - but i learnt the Watts measure the amount of energy required to light the globe, where as lumens measure the amount of light produced. The more lumens in a light bulb, the brighter the light. Generally speaking, the higher the wattage of the bulb, the more lumens it produces. The more light that is produced, the better your plants will grow. An excellent way to measure the amount of light you are getting per square foot is through the use of lumens. Wattage and lumens tend to go hand in hand, but can vary system to system. Even though lumens tend to correlate with wattage, it is the design of the light that can have drastic impacts on the actual amount of lumens emitted. It basically comes down to this, the more lumens cast over your grow area, the stronger your cannabis plants are going to grow. Each plant will require an absolute minimum of 2,500 lumens. i found this easy calculator converter ... i hope its acurate .... http://www.rapidtables.com/calc/light/lumen-to-watt-calculator.htm In the above calculator (not taking into account grow area or reflective space) the very minimum i require is 2500lm to 60W . So at the very minimum i require 60w of LED light to each plant, And in the full spectrum of waves (nm) 350-750nm the 300W LED light is said to give out 18000 lm *Cool colours for growth *warm colours for flowering/ So What was i going to use for growing medium? After reading countless diary entries, blogs, and articles, it looks as though coco coir is the more controlled option for a growth medium, as only the grower has control over the exact nutrients their plant will be receiving, and the more control one has in providing the best environment for a plant to thrive, i imagine the better the results. More to the point that my main concern is odour, insects, especially Gnats, i fricken hate those damn things!! so being such a newbie i thought pfftt, so many threads on people asking about growing medium, how hard can it be to simply choose one? well i didnt know each has advantages and dissavantages, which is why there are lots of receipes around for medium bases with great reccomendations, but i figure aslong as i know how each one will benefit my ladies, aswell as how it may cause her problems, well i will simply mix the knowledge into a pot itself. perlite = a form of obsidian consisting of glassy globules, used as insulation or in plant growth media. Vermiculite = Vermiculite is a hydrous, silicate mineral that is classified as a phyllosilicate and that expands greatly when heated coco coir= Coir is a natural fiber extracted from the husk of coconut . Its found between the hard, internal shell and the outer coat of a coconut Clay Pebbles = pretty self explanatry Rockwool = Rockwool is a man-made mineral fiber. Vermiculite + Vermiculite- due to the silica, Vermiculite can absorb water and hold it for longer periods of time, and prevent medium drying out - Apparently a medium mix of more than 80%+ of vermiculite will cause the medium to become sludgy, as the silica exorbs the fluid Perlite + Lightweight, readily-available, great for rooting cuttings, inert, chemically stable. - Has no buffering qualities, leaches nutrient easily and tends to float when flooded Expanded clay + Expanded clay is firm and holds Structure - If feeding or pump where to fail, the plants could completley die within hours as Expanded Clay holds no addition liquid. Coco Coir + Naturally contains the beneficial fungus Trichoderma, slowly releases potassium. - Draws down calcium, easily over-watered. Rockwool + The primary reason for using Rockwool is to provide a buffering reservoir of nutrient solution in the root zone while maintaining an adequate volume of air (oxygen) in contact with the roots - i am yet to read any negatives about rockwool besides skin irritantion - but if you find a square of rockwool large enough for a full size cannabis plant to flower in, give me a headsup . I have Chosen canna coco coir - i will update the ingredients here later vermiculite, explanded clay, and perlite, so a little bit of everything until i get the feel of what im doing, and how i want my medium to be. Anywho - Im gonna have a choof, eat skittles and Watch South Park, and will try finish my pointless ramblings and bad spelling tommorow hahaha. If ya read all that, then i kind of feel sorry that i wasted 30 mins of your time hahaha

  30. I partied last night. This will be short. Took the lid of the humidity boxoff and the plants dried out as well as the rockwool cubes plus the tent is now covered in moisture that was usually retained by the box. So, I was wrong. It is necessary. After five or so days another one of the original seedlings cracked. The others have not made any progress that I can see. I can see one tiny little offshoot of a root coming off the main root on one of the seedlings.

  31. Hi Stoners, Im making this glog to show everyone my progress on my first grow, Texada timewarp, so far: I sprouted 3 seeds and placed them into small square seedling pots, 4 days later only one had shown so i took that one and put it in a discrete location not too far into the bush. I nurtered it thru the seedling stage and at one point encountered a small black scaly thing on its stem. No need to worry a few squirts of perynthium on the underside of the leaves, at the base of the stem and on the little bugger, the pests were gone. Once she grew to her 3rd node, i transplanted her into a 4 gallon pot which was dug into the ground. So far i have begun the Topping process to maximise the yield and fed her some seasol. Will post monthly updates on its progress Hello, im back with some more progress on my little baby. Ive topped it a bit early and now shes only grown one new sprout, which is mutant for some reason, ive watered it and i think its just because of lack of sun or some shit. Heres some pics Shoot which wont grow through Mutant leaf

  32. Almost 3 weeks veg and I think I need to flip. The stalk is think and the leaves are green. I don't intend on LSTing I intend the tree to maximise its own canopy Ill give it the best conditions to do this, if I chose to tip Ill veg for one more week . However, If I veg for another week I fear the crown will reach the cool tube during flower. 4 weeks is the best time to flip as the plant is mature enough ... options! Im leaning toward tipping at this stage. and giving her one more week veg. Edit 1/05. I opted for one more week Veg, Ill Tidy up the canopy tonight exposing some of the lower bud sites.

  34. This only recently happened but I feel compelled to review this god-awful turd of a movie in the hopes that only one person takes my advice and avoids it. Thank you Cyber Movie: This Is The End runtime:107mins released date: 2013 ::Spoiler alert:: It shouldn't come as a great surprise to most of the online community, that a movie like this is designed for the explicate purpose of appealing to the widest audience without satisfying any of the accepted movie norms. Including but not limited to; Plot, wow... where was the plot in this movie? How could someone with even a modicum of humour have any bases to crack a smile to what is simply over-played toilet humour? The rapture as the central theme to explain “the end” was used maybe 4 or 5 times in reference to the disaster unfolding outside James Franco's new fortress, which is how the movie begins. What happen to developing a plot by using intelligent scripting and great acting?Or even using some well shot locational images? This slap-in-the-face for the audience couldn't be more offensive if following the scene where Michael Cera is impaled with a collapsing street light, and is then lifted up by the undulating earth, he pulls out his junk ( instead of what appears to be the new motorola xperia ) and cums buckets of money down onto his adoring fan-base. What a failed portrayal of what is influencing Hollywood and movie makers in this generation. The movie This Is The End is littered with these types of examples. And after 107minutes of this, you as the audience should be running out the door looking for the closest friend with some juicy fruit to hopefully remove the taste of cock and pig shit from your mouth. I will not dwell on them too much, but I have to draw attention to one more for the simple reason that I found it so bitterly contradictory I almost walked out of the cinema. The movie uses themes such as friendship and self-worth, but yet the first night our rag-tag group of survivors share together, they begin sleeping in separate rooms, but after 2-3mins they are snuggled up together, complete with a very poorly constructed couch fort. Oh, did I mention the gratuitous and tacky dialogue about cocks in arse?Butt(sic) I digress.... Don't for one second think that this movie will touch an experience you might have shared with friends while you were super high. It has no comparative qualities that I witnessed in its 107minutes of diarrhoea. Steer well clear of this movie. And certainly don't waste any good drugs before watching this, if you must.

  35. Ok my first grow and I am looking for help to see if anything wrong or help I need from here. I grew all 3 from seed (great smoko), all popped together and have been together since, I have them in coco and under 130watt cfl 6500k while they small thinking of turning to a HPS setup when they are bit older. They do spend sometime outside when sun is good. All 3 are at different stages 1 definitely better than other 2. I checked ph of run off it came out at 6 and I am doing 1 on 1 off watering with nutes. I am basically throwing open to any opinions on the 3 and if I am having issues as 1 is struggling little compared to others. Cheers in advance.

  36. Hi ya all..... I am into sharing with you my method of all year growing using a combination of 600w grow light for vegetive growth (6 weeks x 20hrs) and then using mother nature and the sun 5-6 weeks) to produce juicy tasty fat buds. I germinate my seeds in small pots of good quality potty mix with gravel at the bottom of each pot for drainage. I make small hole in the soil with my finger as deep as my finger nail and drop a single seed in each. I make sure my soil level is at ph 6.5 and the soil is moist but not over wet. I then place them in a sunny location and I check the soil daily and add small amounts of water if the potty mix feels dry. My seeds rise from the ground after a couple of days and then start to grow into little seedlings. At 7 days they will have the second set of leaves with serrated edges well-formed and the new centre sprout appearing. By now the seedling plant should be around 40mm high. At around 10 days when my seedlings have formed the 3rd set of leaves I select 16 of the best and healthiest looking plants and gently transplant into 10Lt plastic pots. The pots have gravel in the 1/4 bottom and then topped with a mix of 50% organic compost mix and 50% potty mix. I water the plants in well and leave in the sunny spot for 4 days. I then take the 2 week old seedlings in to the indoor grow room. My room is 2.5m x 2.5m X 2.5m the walls are lined with reflective aluminium sheeting. I have it well ventilated with equal powered intake fans and an exhaust ceiling fan. I also run an oscillating household fan to help circulate the air. The stand is a 2m x 2m x 300mm heavy duty moulded plastic tray supported on milk crates. I have drilled 6 small drainage holes that sit above a runoff collection bucket. My light source is a 600w HPS. I run this light for 20hrs on and 4 hrs off over a 24 hr. period. For the 2 days I hang my light a fair way from the seedlings, no closer than 1 metre. The little plant is shocked and adjusting to the new environment and the light being too close will burn and kill the plant. For the next 7 days I use a water mister only and spray the plants once per day with water only. Do not use any fertilising food at this stage as it will kill your plants. After 7 days my little plants look happy and have adjusted to the 20 hr. light cycle. The new leaf sprouts are shooting and the plant is obviously now in grow mode. I drop my light gradually over the next four days until the globe is 200ml from the top of the small plant. The globe will need to rise as your plants grow. The 1st addition of vegetive grow food is done at 25% of the recommended dose. If the manufactures recommended dose is 20mls per 10lts, then reduce it to 5mls per 10Lts. For the 2nd week of the indoor grow room I feed each plant 250mls of the watered down feed solution once per day. I still lightly spray the leaf with water only. On the 7th day I feed only water. This assists in clearing any sodium build up in the soil. For the 3rd week the food dose is raised to 50% of the recommended dose. This level should not be exceeded as it will cause nutrient lock in. Again I feed once per day each plant now receives 330mls and on the 7th day I use water only. The 4th week is much the same with a volume increase to 500mls per day. The plants are now little shrubs with heaps of lush growth appearing daily. They now stand at a height of 500mm from soil to top I revert the food back to water 'only' for 2 days and then I do not feed for another 2 days. So the plants are now 6 weeks old. 2 weeks as outdoor seedlings and 4 weeks of intense artificial light and vegetative food. This is when the lights are reduced to 11 hrs on and 13 hrs off. During this sleep period the plants must not be exposed to any light. The plants are now on a new food source. The new food is produced for flowering plants. Again I start this feeding process at 50% of rec. dose. After the 2 day fasting period and the light reduction the feeding process begins. I feed the plants twice per day 500mls to each plant. I do this when the lights come on and just before the lights go off. After 7 to 10 days the plants are showing their sex. Any male plants need to be removed as soon as identified. After another week the female buds are starting to form as the feeding process continues. This is when I remove the plants out into the outdoors. Make sure you find a sunny safe place for your heads to mature. Continue feeding your plants for another 3 weeks. The last week before harvest I stop feeding altogether. I watch for the little white hairs on the buds to start turning brown, then I harvest. Happy days

  38. Well the seeds are on the way, yeehaw. Posted from Overseas on the 15th----arrived in Australia 16th; I was excited there for a while, but the weekend is here and still seedless; Good old Aussie post, it leaves a snail trail most times. In a way I thankful they haven't arrived yet, as I intend doing an outdoor/indoor natural light grow,I need to wait for the lunar phase to play its part. I am old school, I like it that way. Battling pain on a regular basis, I am so looking forward to get things up and growing. Being who I am, makes it difficult for me to associate with the right people to get what I need to help ease this constant pain. I am not asking (moderator) anybody for anything. I would like to, but everyone online is anonymous, trust is met when people are face to face. Being back here in my old enviroment (cape york was my backyard) is like being in a totally new enviroment. I know a few, but mostly the faces are all different. The reason for my being back here is that the tropical weather eases the pain I endure. Sure there is a couple of cold weeks mid year, or there about, but is nothing like the cold that persists south of the tropic of capricorn. I was on a cocktail of man made drugsfor 4 years, oxycontin, cerebex, oruvail, pristiq, endep. Some eased the pain but killed the brain. The side effects of certain drugs were so bad they put me onto other drugs to balance them. Then the drugs they gave me to balance the side effects of other drugs, gave me another new case of side effects. WOW, lucky me. So there I was bombed out of my head, a haze of constant depression and pain and delusion. In this haze, I had recollections of all the wonderful and fantastic times I had experienced with "natural" herbs and fungii. I knew it was time to get back to the natural way of healing. One by one I ditched all the man made poison, I started to begin thinking clearly again. Fantastic. 2012 I moved North to Cairns, a whole new rehabilitation of body and mind. The ocean, rivers and mountains. Swimming is good, the flotation eases all the pressure off my arthritic joints and bones. Then there is also the fresh air to breate, walking became less like a chore and more enjoyment. 2013 I moved here to Cooya Beach. Even better. Fewer people closer to the mountains and rivers, and I live by the sea. So the begining of a new chapter in life....... Now...... where are those seeds ???

  40. Mullaways Medical Cannabis Pty. Ltd. via Jake Charlesworth Mullaways Medical Cannabis Pty Ltd has begun petitioning the Australian State and Federal Governments to: "Legalise a system for medical Cannabis which allows for medical research/development, and the production/distribution of Cannabis/Cannabinoid based products in NSW (which would allow companies such as Mullaways Medical Cannabis Pty Ltd to proceed.)" So the chronically ill and dying Australians, sufferers of Cancer, HIV/AIDS, Epilepsy, etc whom choose to use Cannabis as a medical option to help manage/alleviate severe pain, nausea, appetite, etc (as is their base human right - The Common Law and Doctrine of Informed Consent) can finally have their medication and stop being criminalised for simply using a medicine that provides them pain relief and a higher quality of life.) ...See More Mullaways Medical Cannabis Pty Ltd - Legalise Medical Cannabis, NSWwww.gopetition.com TO THE HONOURABLE THE PRESIDENT AND MEMBERS OF THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF NEW SOUTH WALES This petition of: Certain citizens of New South Wales....

  41. Been a while since updating this grow blog, should keep better track of things haha ! So what we have going here is : - (Strain)(Date Planted from Seedling) - Sleestak x Skunk (2/12) - Sleestak x Skunk (5/12) - Super Lemon Haze (28/10) - Northern Lights (Clone) - Northern Lights (Clone) - Unknown (Either Sleestak or SLH) As I am a bit of a novice with this all, it seems the biggest girl of the lot is having some troubles, I guess its either some nutrient lockout or not enough of something, or, too much of something ? I've tried adding some "RichGro Complete Trace Elements" but I'm 99% sure that just burnt her more ! Since then have flushed her (and the other girls) a few times with just regular tap water, but I'm not too sure on what to do next, specifically, what to add, or, how to get her in better shape.. At the moment Bunnings is pretty much the go to for anything, once I have a bit of a shopping list I might try get some specific things from a nursery (Dolomite, Shroom Compost etc) but, apparently they're a bit nosy so, might give that a miss (though I think they'd be the way to go for soil etc) https://cannabis.community.forums.ozstoners.com/gallery/album/1186-second-summer-grow/ Is a link to the album of the photos. I'm a bit confused with how to get the album to simply "show up" within a post haha Any help would be appreciated, as the last thing I want is for things to go totally Due South (haha! anyone remember that show?! ) It might be as simple as adding something to fix up the nitrogen levels? or maybe even just totally re-pot them (though, would that stress them out bad ?) I'm slowly getting my shit together to figure out a solid soil mix (Perlite, etc) and ideally aiming to be able to just give the girls tap water without having to screw around with ph-ing the water (just annoying and so fiddly) Water Run off from the biggest girl, around 6.5ph or so

  42. Feeding the girls with ph neutral tap water (ph up or down on tapwater, 4ltr bottle at a time) Also some Canna pk13-14 and Molasses with the same ph neutral water in another 4ltr bottle, switching betwen the two. After this bottle is done (a week) switching to just using the molasses and plain water mix and just ph neutral water. Hopefully looking good. It's amazing to see the differences between plants and growth over time etc, also just the individual quirks of each plant. Apologies for the photo onslaught, it is really hard to try and sort them out right now

  43. The other week I pulled a little bonsai plant from the flower chamber and hung the two main colas of pretty much identical size one on a rack and one laid horizontally on the rack ..... Looking at them there was a noticeable difference The bud that was hung vertically dried to be a compact nugg while the one that was laid flat was pretty much the same shape as when it was chopped only with flatish sides and smaller ............ I was wondering if one way was better for Drying time Curing time and Quality Smoke Quality Storage The one that was laid flat dried slower than the other ...........The one that was hung took longer to cure ................... If there was any difference in the smoke quality it wasnt noticeable to me ..................... and the problem with growing bonsais is that there isnt any long term storage going on So I was thinking that maybe even laying them flat on the rack would be better .....dunno .........I do like the look of the solid buds Its amazing the things you think of while your stond Cheers Brimstond

  44. I thought that I would start a bog to keep track of growing info that does not make it into my regular posts. Years ago when I first started to grow cannabis, I used a mix of coco and pearlite. As the years have passed, I have been improving upon my growing methods one was the change from coco pearlite mix to 100% coco. My latest realisation is that used coco is a much better growing medium than using new coco. I currently use bunnings brand coco, the super fine coco mixed with the larger chipped coco. The most important thing to remember with cheap coco, is to flush the crap out of the coco, then flush it again. Just a few months ago I read Louise's post about using dolomite lime in coco, I've taken to using that too. One of my more controversial growing methods is not to test my PH, I gave up doing that about a year ago. Using rain water, the Ph of my nutrient water run-off is generally 5.4-5.7. I have recently confirmed that the run-off PH remains at 5.5. I always water until I get run-off, always. I think this aids in keeping salt build-up to a minimum and keeps the PH at a decent level.

  47. What is fibromyalgia? Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition that causes pain, stiffness, and tenderness of the muscles, tendons, and joints. Fibromyalgia is also characterized by restless sleep, awakening feeling tired, chronic fatigue, anxiety, depression, and disturbances in bowel function. Fibromyalgia is sometimes referred to as fibromyalgia syndrome and abbreviated FMS. Fibromyalgia was formerly known as fibrositis. While fibromyalgia is one of the most common diseases affecting the muscles, its cause is currently unknown. The painful tissues involved are not accompanied by tissue inflammation. Therefore, despite potentially disabling body pain, patients with fibromyalgia do not develop body damage or deformity. Fibromyalgia also does not cause damage to internal body organs. In this sense, fibromyalgia is different from many other rheumatic conditions (such as rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus, and polymyositis). In those diseases, tissue inflammation is the major cause of pain, stiffness, and tenderness of the joints, tendons and muscles, and it can lead to joint deformity and damage to the internal organs or muscles. What causes fibromyalgia? The cause of fibromyalgia is not known. Those affected experience pain in response to stimuli that are normally not perceived as painful. Researchers have found elevated levels of a nerve chemical signal, called substance P, and nerve growth factor in the spinal fluid of fibromyalgia patients. Levels of the brain chemical serotonin are also relatively low in patients with fibromyalgia. Studies of pain in fibromyalgia have suggested that the central nervous system (brain) may be somehow supersensitive. Scientists note that there seems to be a diffuse disturbance of pain perception in patients with fibromyalgia. Also, patients with fibromyalgia have an impaired non-rapid eye movement, or non-REM, sleep phase (which likely, at least in part, explains the common feature of waking up fatigued and unrefreshed in these patients). The onset of fibromyalgia has been associated with psychological distress, trauma, and infection. Who does fibromyalgia affect? Fibromyalgia affects predominantly women (over 80% of those affected are women) between the ages of 35 and 55. Less commonly, fibromyalgia can also affect men, children, and the elderly. It can occur independently or can be associated with another disease, such as systemic lupus or rheumatoid arthritis. The prevalence of fibromyalgia varies in different countries.
