I am currently assembling the grow chamber - But I have struck a problem... The carbon filter is 38 x 38 x 105cms - BIG fucker...and it won't fit in the chamber with the china hat in place. I am considering putting it in the roof above the chamber inside some air-conditioning venting sealed at both ends with the 250mm ducting running from the chamber to the filter and from the filter to the exhaust fan (250mm centrifugal). What I don't know is should the filter be positioned inside the chamber for best effectiveness or will it not matter as long as the path to it is airtight? Also do the filters only suck through the core or do they absorb from the ext…

Hi all, I have just been given a free 400w MH I am currently flowering under 8 23W CFL's Will the MH be the way to go for flowering now? Also do they make HPS conversion bulbs for MH ballists I have only heard of them the other way around? Stay cool

Hey guys, After a bit of consideration I've decided to try my hand at some growing if its feasable with what is available. I'm not entirely new to botany (was a member of the Victorian Carnivorous Plants Society in my youth) but I have no idea where to start in terms of lighting and whatnot. I have a cupboard which measures H 183cm W 60cm D 50cm. This is very small, I know, so we're looking at what, maybe 1 plant here? Hello everyone, My room is nearing its finishing stages and I am about to install the inlet fan but I'm not sure what size I will need as my setup changed a little... The room is 1x1x2.4 by the way with a 600W HPS. I started with the exhaust being a 150mm centrifugal and 300 filter but managed to swap it for a 250mm centrifugal and a 1000 carbon filter. I was going to use a 150mm inlet fan (passive inlets are not a option) but the store guy has said that it won't cope - that I will need a 250mm Red Spectrum inline fan for $190. Is he trying to wring more money out of me or what? Jimbo

i am thinking of buying a new 600w or a 400w grow light. is there anyway i can get a HPS and a MH in the same light. also how much would it cost for a 600w or 400w electricty usage aprox

hey guys.. got a question about fans !! recenently got my grow room up and going ( well sort of stilll got a few bits and peices 2 get) and haha this might sound funny but I couldnt get a xtractor fan ... so I rigged up a old comp 2 run 4 computer fans seems to work ok! has any1 else done anything like this b4??? I'm new to indoor and on a budget so any advice would be great!!

Okay, in the near future ill be setting up my first grow room. I have 2x 1000watts HPS ballests and bulbs. I've read that the rule of thumb is 50watts per square foot so my set up should match that. It just seems everyone uses 400watt HPS bulbs. Is this because 2x 400watts are better then 1x 1000watt due to a more even coverage and less hydro? Would a 1000watt yield the same as 2x 400watt bulbs or would it just speed up growth? ...any help is much appreciated Cheers!

hey guys time has come where i need a decent odour removal doohickey the ozone dont really cut it imo done some research and have settled with a 150mm centrifugal and 150mmx400mm filter total 445$ me room is 1.2x1.2x2.2 m so there is no problem with it moving the air but curious i am to wether or not ill need a speed controller?? and if there is anything i will also need for instalation??? inside and outside sock?? ya help is appreciated guys bil

hey guys got meself a new stingray aircooled shade has any1 used these shades before?? i was hoping to get some feedback on the shade i dont really like how the lamp is boxed away... all help is appreciated bill cost $80 so if its no good the fan will help vent

hi i wanted to know if u could use commin house lights 4 maby a week and if it would still help my buld i waz using has had it and i dont get paid till next week . if i can use a house light how many will it take. box size is about 1m by 1m and 2.5m high with a hydro system set up in it..i got no fluros ether

My wardrobe is in my bedroom , as it should be , Anyway after it's been off for a little while , the Ballast makes a loud crack noise and it scares the shit out of me , sometimes it will do it again after the first one about 1/2 an hr later . Any ideas ? Could it be the capacitor discharging ? Cheers CG
