http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPcpt3Be28o If you can manage to sit through the chemistry lesson Marijuana Man sounds somewhat convincing. This was sent to me by one of my "Ask Granny" questioners. And I found it pretty interesting. Was wondering what all of you think?

hey all im new to this so would really appreciate so advice. Im planning on using a grow tent 1m x 1m x 1.8m (mainly so i can pack it up if need be), i'll be using a 400w HPS for lighting and am planning on using 120mm Sunon fans for the inlet and outlet. The fans are rated at 30L/second. Will this be enough ventilation? Also, how much of a smell will 2 plants produce? is it necessary to get an ozone generator to keep the smell down? or should i not worry about it. Cost is a little bit of an issue as im a student (hence the idea to grow my weed rather than buy it ) Im really hoping for some tips so please don't hold back. thanks elwood

I'm getting tired of the shitty range and availability of options we have in Australia. Especially in 250W range. We essentially have just 2 guys on eBay selling stuff, one promotes the wrong color spectrum bulbs for the intended task and the other aquarium guy doesn't provide any technical information about his bulbs. And our shops charge hundreds more than things are worth and 2 shops I visited they gave me a blank look when I asked about lighting specs. Annoys me when people don't know what they are even selling. I want to run a 250W MH system on my plants through vege and switch to HPS for flowering (possibly in 400W). If I'm investing in lighting I may as well do i…

You have just invested a few hundred in a centrif fan, some acoustic damped duct and a carbon filter. However, during lights off, you notice scents wafting around just outside the grow room! What gives? When the lights are off, the temps in the room may not come up high enough to trigger your thermostat running the exhaust blower. Absent the blower running to push scents through the carbon filter, scents will leak where ever there is a tiny air gap in your room construction. Keeping the room at negative pressure causes air to be drawn inward through those little gaps, keeping all air exiting the op going through the carbon filter. If you wire a fan motor speed con…

As the tittle suggests; I have just purchased some rather weighty accoustic ducting (double layer ducting with that itchy yellow bat material inside), and would like to know the best way to attach \ hang \ trail this stuff, say along the roof or along the walls of the grow... Concerned about making holes in it. Does this stuff tear \ loose bits fly off into the centrif? Sorry for pic qual and size billos

Just sprouted a few plants but decided theres 1 too many for my outdoor location so.... 1> Will it be okay to move a few day old plant from outside into a new life indoors? I assume it'll be fine just checking. 2> I will try and get a mate whos handy with wiring to make a light rack thing (i saw someone on these forums with a simple strip of wood and 3 CFL's sticking out the other side) but failing that what / where do you guys suggest getting some good lamps? 3> CFL's themselves. I would like to get some >40w CFL (40w fluoro not incadencent eqivilant) but haven't found anywhere locally who sells them. Bunnings come closest with some 26 and 30w bulbs. An…

Hi, I'm new to this group but have been growing for too many years to admit to! I've used both HID's and HPS's with much glee and success. I've seen reference to these compact fluro's here and there and also I've seen photo's of very healthy plants that were vege'd with a CFL or three. As they seem ideal in many ways for indoor I would have thought that they would have been looked upon as a real revolution in growing under lights. From what I can gather from this forum, the general opinion is that while these lights might be Ok during the vegetative stage, they somehow fall down as far as being an effective source of light during the flowering stage.... Now, I…
