noisy fans

just wondering whats a good way in making noisy fans not so noisy i have a 150ml axial fan at the moment conected to ducting and it just makes to much noise u can hear it as u walk in the house not a good way to keep your grow stealthy an advice or ideas would be great thanks guys

put a short length of ducting on each end of the fan this will quieten it down also you can use a fan speed controller this will also make the fan more quiet use these two options if u dont want a big bulky box with insulation around

hey there

 

ya can also get ya self a foam box commonly know as broccoli boxes or fish boxes put ya fan inside and connect ya ducting to the fan but fed through the box

 

so what ya need to do is cut a 150mm hole in each side of the box feed ya ducting through them and tape it to ya fan so that the ducting is connected to the fan not the box

 

the box will keep the noise down while still alowing good air flow i have one set up at the moment works well and is nioce and quiet

i thought about it how old is your fan it could be on its way out if old?

nah my fan is brand new yeh im try building a foam box to sround it il tell if its works and post some pics cheers guys
