WHAT HOOD SHOULD I BUY FOR 1000 WATT HPS.COOL TUBE.PAROBOLIC,BATWING,REGULER HOOD.ASSUMING HEAT ISNT AN ISSUE. DOES ONE HOOD REFLECT MORE LIGHT THEN ANOTHER (10 X 10 ROOM)

Hey guys and girls, I was thinking about starting to grow in my room. I was planning on buying a small grow tent and a 400w hps light with an inbuilt ballast. I was just wondering if using this light in my room with all my other electrical equiment would cause the circuit to overload? I have four power points in my room with my computer equipment and tv taking up two plugs. If I used the other two plugs in my room only for my growlight and intake fans would this be too much on the circuit of the room. Just dont want to start a fire now. My knowledge of electricty and circuits isn't to good. Cheers for any help.

Im wonderin if anyone knows whats up with my 400w hps(runnin son t). I was just cleaning up in my growspace thinkin that for a newbie im goin alright and the babys look really robust, and then the light went out! And then started flickering like a flouro tube thats shat itself. Needless to say that i was shattered as i dont have any spare tubes and i was sure that this tube had just died. I quickly turned off the jb(magnetic)ballast that seems to run very hot sometimes, and left it and the lamp to cool. Feeling pretty deflated at the prospect of my babies havin no rays till payday except a puny 48w cfl, i grabbed my other ballast with the hope that maybe the jb ballast …

Hi all just a quick question about this This fan HERE Is it a cheap and nasty ? should I look to paying up to $200.00 or so and settle for a reliable brand name like spectreum' or 'vortex' - or less the lesser quality like 'Easy air. I am quite taken with this one one Here . Its an 'Mixed Flow' Inline fan - says high pressure/capacity. ? slick little unit What do you fan freaks think ? Nitty.

Hi all, Hoping for for a couple questions answered, any input appreciated. I've got a room with three exhaust fans (12'',12" and 6") pumping out approx. 2700 cfm's, located at top/front end of room. It has five 6'' in vents, presently at hood and exhaust fan level at other end. It has ten 1000w HPS systems, all ballasts in different room. Here's the problem, it's hot as hell in there. Should bring in more air?, add more fans (didn't think it would be nesc)? or... Anything else I'm not thinking about? Thanks again for any input, have a wonderful day!!!

I have been doing a lot of intensive reading lately because I have finally got a plant in. Today I brought an OSRAM NAV T 600W HPS, highly recommended by a hydro shop guy, very reputable South Australian Hydroponic store. He reckons it is pretty much the best flowering lamp on the market. I don't doubt him but I kind of worry that it may just produce big tight buds that are not reaching there true potential in potency. After all were farming Trichomes not plant matter right? According to some of the articles I have read, cannabis produces a lot of Trichomes when under stress from UVB like what is found at high altitude, and near the equator. Supposedly blue spectrum lig…

Hey, I'm new to this site and am amazed at the depth info here: cool stuff. I do have a question for someone in the know: What sort of 100 or 150 mm in line fans can run for 12 hours non stop and pull heat, without losing suck? difference between centrifugal and ball bearing? which is better? also on another note how come my vaporizer sucks-everyone raves about them...Can't get a decent stone off it??? meant to be a good one: vaporite hyper. cheers bodaharty

Greetings Folks Just to break with tradition, i decided to check my grow cab at an unusual time, and found that my light was still on, dammit. I've tried both Kambrook and HPM timers, and both have failed me in the past. Anyway, does anyone know of any better ones that might be a bit better constructed, and if so, what type are they? Thanks in advance.

Hey I live in a 3 bedroom student house and me and my buddies are tinkering with the idea of starting a little 6-plant hydro setup. My one friend's concern is that it might smell too much. I understand that it depends on a number of factors (strain, etc.) but if anyone can answer these questions, that'd be mighty fine of you -what are the options for odour elimination? -with only 6 plants, would it be better for someone to have them in their room? or in a common area (still out of sight) -would any special type of ventilation be needed? peace n pleasure!

Hi guys im new to growing the sweet erb but ive smoked it for a long time Im currently in the process of buying this reflector and lamp holder that comes with a power cord Im also going to buy a 250 watt hps light i just want to know if i need a ballast or is it even possible to run this without a ballast? Im abit short on the cash atm i need some advice fast thanks in advance guys! If so would a 400 watt ballast be ok ?

About to buy more lights and was thinking of getting one of the new LED grow light and try it out. is there any buddy who has used them. I have a limited power in the grow room and if it works I would be able to have more light and not have to get some one to rewire the Box. All so I would save on AC in the summer. Right now it is winter and It is nice to have the space heater of a self balisted light. Any imput would be nice
