250 watt hps confusion

Hi guys im new to growing the sweet erb but ive smoked it for a long time

Im currently in the process of buying this reflector and lamp holder that comes with a power cord

Im also going to buy a 250 watt hps light i just want to know if i need a ballast or is it even possible to run this without a ballast?

Im abit short on the cash atm

i need some advice fast thanks in advance guys!

 

If so would a 400 watt ballast be ok ?

they need a ballast.. they should come with a ballast.. these days a complete kit should only cost you a couple of hundred $

 

last i seen the 600 watt HPS kit came with a digi ballast was only $400... so a 250 would be way cheaper than that

250 watt is no longer an option now Ive done some research

so if i buy the 400 watt ballast im going to need a 400 watt lamp

does this effect your electricity bill if your running it 18 hours a day? 7 days a week

can anyone please give me a rough estimation.
