Got an underperforming seedling that's looking messed up and mongolated. She's Royal Cheese feminised by Royal Queen seeds, and about 1 week old. Compared to a couple of other seedlings germinated at the same time, it's got the same number of sets of leaves, but as you can see in the pic the leaves are very small and warped. Repotted from a small plastic cup into the 100mm pot it's now in yesterday, and the roots are developing quite nicely. Just wondering if anyone else has had seedlings go like this, and if so, do they pull through ok or just go nowhere? Got the seed as a freebie, and never really felt the desire to buy cheese seeds, but now that I have one it…

Hey everyone, I am growing in soil with 130w CFL for veg. I have 3 seedlings and they are 13 days old in these pics. Normally they should be on their second set of leaves (at least) by now and much greener looking. I had a successful grow earlier this year which started in early January. I am using pretty much the same mix of premium potting mix and perlite. Same light and environment, same water source, same batch of seeds. The only thing really different is the temperature, now that it is coming into winter I am getting low 20's and probably a bit lower than that overnight. I am not in a cold climate so I would not think temps matter too much for me excep…

I usually grow 2 plants vegged for 4-5 weeks under 400watt, cut clones then put both plants under a 1000 watt HPS. I have recently decided to get rid of my veg room and grow a dozen smaller plants, veg them for about 10 days, cut the crowns out of them, and use them for clones. Is there anything wrong with this method? Will it have a detrimental affect on the clones having to keep them for 6-7 weeks before they start to veg. Appreciate all thoughts and comments. Aussie

Ive done an experiment. One cutting has been slid down the side of a containerm the other has been placed in the center of the container. the one on the side of the container is doign so much better. Any ideas why? For some reason, I could only guess, the root formation is much better in a stem placed up hard against unatural polystyrene on oneside, perlight on the other. all sitting in a bubbler. Pix soon-ish

I've been having a look around, but am struggling to find any in depth info on pre flowers. I wasn't even aware they existed until about 6 weeks ago. Due to water issues I am looking to cull out some of my outdoor grow to better look after the rest. I have 2 definite females with pre flowers, 8 with what look like male pre flowers, and 9 others with nothing or too early to tell. My problem is that whilst female pre flowers appear to be normal female flowers that simply turn up in reduced numbers earlier than should be expected, the supposed male pre flowers are not turning into a normal male flower, or even an immature male flower that ceases to finish full formatio…

Okay, I was just curious as to the answer, hermaphrodites. If you have a hermie, and you cut clones from the female branches, prior to pollination, will they grow female plants, or simply replicate the mother/father? It is my understanding that a self pollinated hermaphrodite produces hermaphrodite seed, is this a correct assumption?

Hi all, So I was looking through a few YouTube vids, and came across a vid called monster cropping. It's short vid, and really quite, so I started to have a look on the web. When I have found many people saying its works, you get more yeild ect ect. But I have not found any really hard info on why and how it work. I am more interested in it as the whole theory of taking cuttings in your 3 rd week of flowering and having them ready to go in as soon as you harvest!!! Sounds tops. If any one has some hard info, or experience with monster cropping would be great. Any down fall from doing this, ect. For rope that don't know what monster cropping is. The tech where y…

First time poster here, just a quick question on pot size. A few years ago i was growing afghani and hindu kush, i was growing them in 140mm pots, good quality potting mix in good lighting in my orchid house. I'm assuming due to the pot size the plants would only get 15-20cm tall at max. I'm now getting back into cultivation, unfortunately i no longer have the pure strains any more so will just be growing bag seed. Again i will be growing outdoors. I plan to germinate indoors in jiffy pots then transplant outside into larger pots. Dont want anything too big just to make hiding a little easier if need be. What pot size would be recommended?

So another quick question - am growing outdoors, if that makes much difference, but if I wanted to add another 3 or 4 plants to my grow is it going to be a better idea to order some more seeds and grow from seed or just start to trying to take clones of what I already have? Not that concerned about having all different varieties this grow so that isn't a factor in choosing seeds over clones. Will it make much difference either way? Is it maybe getting slightly late to be growing from seed now anyway, assuming ordering today and 10 days delivery it could be early December before they start to germinate.

I read that spraying 100ppm of gibberellic acid on a female branch once a day for 10 days will turn it male but because the plant is female it will have female chromosomes. Crossing the pollen with another female from a different mother will then create all female seed without risk of inbreeding. Does this work? Would save a lot of water carting if I could make my own all female seed.

Hey folks. Been having heat and grasshopper issues here so I built some little shadehouse's using shadecloth, some random wire I had lying around and nylon. The idea of the smaller shade hats is to be able to plant really young seedlings straight into the ground and just keep the heat off them a bit while they get established. Its also protects from any plant eating pests that like to knock them off. Tools I used Wire (from anywhere) Shadecloth 15% (the lightest gauge available) Long lasting string (hutchie chord) Multitool covered most things Needle i made from the wire . Used sandpaper and a file to refine it. The HD wire needed HD pliers and a hacksaw to c…

Hi all, Got my feminized Barneys farm seeds last night. Are in water now. My drobe is about 1.8m high, and I'm looking at growing two. I'm going to tip them a couple times each, what height do you think I should grow them to in veg? Going to end up in square 20L pots
