Okay, bit of a discussion going on here as to optimum drying temp. I say 18° Celsius, max of 22°. Couldn't be bothered scouring topics for an answer, but if I am wrong, please correct me. Kinda cold down here, so I hooked up a 1500w heater to a thermal controller to maintain constant room temp. Set the controller to 18°, kicks in and goes off 2° either side of the mark, but just curious as to what others consider an optimum temp.

Hey All, I have my first female flowering, an Auto Amnesia. She popped up 11 weeks ago tomorrow, she has been going alright despite losing the main stem to my clumsiness. A couple of pics of one of the most mature buds attached. Any opinions on how long they need for a nice 50/50 head/couchlock stone? I have the 420 scope, but I just can't tell.

I have found that if I strip a handful of buds in a jar by scraping the buds deeply with scissors and shake the hell out of the jar the seeds come flying out by the hundred. They tend to glue back to the bud but if you put it all on a plate and pick it up then drop it a few times the vast majority of the seeds will settle on the plate under the buds making seed collection and removal of the buds for later searching/smoking easy as. That method is great and all but there has to be a better way of doing things. I'm thinking something along the lines of hash bags for seeds would be ideal. Filtering by size like that could split up the different grades of seeds from the …

Hey Guys This is an Auto Purple on Day 84. I've been feeding it plain pH'd water for the past 3 weeks or so, and I think its ready to harvest. However some of the lower buds aren't as developed yet. Shall I harvest the whole plant, or just cut the more developed buds off and dry them? I've already the best way to dry is actually in the pot, just stop watering and it will die and dry itself. Thoughts on this? Pics: Also this is a northern lights "auto". I say "auto" as it didn't really bud properly until 12/12. Anyway, I was away for 5 days, came back and it was all wilted and dead like this. The pot was light, but there was still some moisture in the…

Harvest Timing 1 2 3

Marijuana Botany by Robert Connell Clarke Quote: Harvest Timing The logic behind harvesting at a specific time is easier to understand. The usual aim of timing the moment of harvest is to ensure high THC levels modified by just the proper amounts of CBC, CBD and CBN, along with their propyl homologs, to approximate the desired psychoactive effect. Since THC acids are being broken down into CBN acid at the same time they are being made from CBD acid, it is important to harvest at a time when the production of THC acids is higher than the degradation of THC acids. Every experienced cultivator inspects a number of indicating factors and knows when to harvest the desire…

Hi all First time grower here seeking knowledge, my weed is dry and been put into Mason jars for about two weeks now, I've been vaping it and found it mild in strength and frankly a little disappointing then yesterday I thought I'd try smoking it and only got half way thru the joint because it was so strong! My Vape is a good quality one so why the huge difference? And do you think that after a decent cure the potency will increase? I know some people just prefer smoking over vaping but I'm not one of them, do you think the difference is down to the newness of the weed e.g. Hasn't cured properly yet?

Hey Guys, I've been doing a lot of research on storing weed long term (over 12 months). I've decided on vacuum sealed mason jars buried in the ground to keep cool. This seems like the way to go but I've read from people that don't believe they're fully airtight. So this thought crossed me, what if I vacuum sealed the jars, then vacuum sealed a bag around the jars?! This would surly make it twice as airtight hey? Also would love to hear from anyone who's stored weed long term, would be sweet to hear some success stories! Cheers

G'day stoners, I'm after a bit of help from the more experienced growers in here regarding when I should be pulling my plant. She's Pure Kush, at day 55 from switching to 12/12, it has a recommended flowering time of 9 weeks going by the website I purchased the seed from. I'd say 70% of pistils are orange, I don't really know how to tell if the calaxys are swollen and as for the trichomes, I bought a loupe magnified glass from office works today, from what I can tell all trichomes are still clear but I'm not sure the magnifying glass is strong enough to make a proper judgment. Physically the buds look a little light/not compact/leafy at the tops of the main cola's, and …

Hey, I was wondering if anyone has heard of or tried preserving seeds in honey? I know ancient societies used it as a food preservative and I knew a guy that use to keep shrooms in a honey jar. Haven't come across any talk about. Interested in hearing your feedback.

Hey guys, just got this weed last week and I noticed today that there is white stuff amongst the bud that I personally have never noticed before and Im now worried its mould. It doesn't smell bad, although the weed itself doesn't smell much at all and I can't say Ive noticed any weird taste although I haven't tucked into the suspect bud yet.. What you guys reckon? Cheers Evenflow

Hydro guy handed me a bottle of Cellobind to try out for him. Said it would add close to 50% to my final yield. I was almost out the door when he gave it to me so I just said thanks and put it in my pocket. I'm going to try it because I said I would but only on a few buds in case its terrible stuff. Personally I think commercial growers are going to love it and it'll just be a waste of money for personal growers. Sorry about the huge pics, didn't think the text would be viewable if the pics were left small and I'm too stoned to type all that out What do you guys think of the product?

I've a Skunk #1 plant and am trying to determine when to harvest. It is currently at Day 50 of 12/12 after a 30 day vegetive period. Strain guide states flowering time of 45-50 days [is this from the time they start showing flowers or from changing light schedule to 12/12??]. I've invested in a 40x loupe, a 60x - 100x pocket microscope and a digital microscope and I still can't bloody decide whether these plants are ready or not. Problem being it's really hard to keep them still enough to inspect the plants, so I've now chopped one of the bud leaves and stuck it under the microscope. There appears to be minimal browning of pistils, maybe 10% but most trichomes appe…

Hi Guys I know the purists will gasp, but has anyone had any experience, or got any instructions on how to use a food dehydrator (eg. Sunbeam DT5600) to dry a harvest? Any particular brands/models? Thanks

hey guys can someone please make sense to me why its recommended to cure over 3 weeks say as apposed to a faster snap dry? i keep reading different information. as i understand it, a long slow cure make the buds taste better right? but at the same time i read that curing over this time and exposing to air only speeds up the rapid conversion of thc into something else ( not psychoactive ). what gives? and a snap dry might mean that although the bud tastes not as nice it would be potentially stronger? confused

Well I just heard something interesting. Apical Dominance and friut readyness in regards to harvest times Apical dominance is a term used to discribe how the plant uses its hormones. An climbing vine for instance uses its geotropic and kinseotropic hormones to ancore the apical node to the highest point possible. In cannabis and most other trees the apical node denotes the top of the plant and hence the fruitting body know as the "crown", in the case of cannabis, is the plants MAIN proirity. Hence the Apical hormones put this fruit in the optimum light/food regime to produce a muture fruit. As a result the LACK of apical dominance means that lower buds get a different pri…
