Cannabis Harvesting

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum. This is my first serious outdoor grow and I want to get the harvesting time right. Looking at photo's online it seems like the difference between clear and cloudy trichs can be hard to tell depending on the light. Some parts of my plant have a fair few amber ones. It's a silver haze plant and has been flowering since early Feb, so just over 2 months. Sorry about the blurriness of some of the photo's, it was hard to keep the plant still while taking them. Thanks in advance for the feedback

I never thought I'd say that but I have way too much bud atm I had one plant in the back yard and it gave me approx. 21oz of weed. Now 21oz is a helluva lot of stuff to keep around and under normal conditions would last me well over a year but can I keep it that long? I've read about vaccupacking and keeping it in the freezer for up to a year without degradation but wouldn't it have to be 100% dry before it can get anywhere near a freezer? A little moisture will cause it to actually freeze and the cells of the plant material to break down and it would all get yucky mush when taken out and defrosted again. At this point I keep it all in mason jars and large ZipLock ba…

Hi everyone, I have a rather good problem - way too many buds and not enough glass to cure them all in and still 4 more plants to harvest! So, as I only need so much for smoking and giving to friends and family, I was wondering whether it's actually necessary to cure cannabis if smoking is not the desired use of the end product. I'm pretty sure that I've read that you can freeze wet buds and use to make bubble hash. But you need dry, though not necessarily cured, for tumbled hash. What about for making BHO or iso extractions? I'm contemplating having a go at some of these in the near future. Cheers for any input.

Hi Everyone, This is Serious Seeds' Bubblegum grown from regular seed in the ground. Mid-January I split the main trunk in 1/2 trying to LST her way too late. I pulled the 4 main limbs together as best I could and duct taped it up. I applied Seasol and the plant continued to grow like a monster. This is how the repair job looks now. Around the end of January she started yellowing significantly but every time I tried to feed her she curled her leaves together and didn't seem to like it. I did also do some Googling and determined that this is a very nutrient sensitive strain. So I have made no further attempts to fertilise although have given Seasol and BS…

Okay, so I have a problem. I will be going away early April for 4 weeks, this will be harvest time for my outdoor ladies. I plan to leave 2 of my plants to dry for the 4 weeks. ( I know this may be too long but I have no choice.) My question is can I just pull my other 2 give them a minimal trim & chuck in the freezer for 4 weeks without compromising them. I want to use these to for oil & hash & the other 2 for BHO.

Hey everyone I'm wondering how long I could store weed for ? My idea was mason jars in a cool dark spot and burp them every so often. I've got smoke now that's nearly a year old and is still good.

I was sitting there the other night manicuring one of my plants ready for jars, thinking, there has got to be an easier, faster or less boring way to do this. I have searched a fair bit and have found threads describing the basic techniques and some even suggesting the "use" of a weed wacker (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Lg5xbdlrJQ) but was sure that with a bit of Aussie know how and "a piece of number 8 wire" someone has come up with a revolutionary way to do this. Better still we may be able to get a whole heap of suggestions together in one thread. Here's where I thought we could start What's you best tip/do/don't for harvesting - My Answer DO NOT follow the a…

Hey Guys Didn't really update my grow diary, but my two northern lights clones are going insanely well. I trained and pruned them a fair bit, so each plant has like 7-8 main colas, with a pretty even canopy. I've been trimming most of the lower branches and buds throughout flowering, but it keeps sprouting new branches like crazy. Anyway I'm removed most of the lower flowers, so the the plant concentrates on the main colas. However, there are still a lot of lower buds that don't get as much light, but I don't want to get rid of them. I was thinking of doing a multi-stage harvest, so harvest the tops when they are ready, then the lower ones. However, the problem I…

Thankfully this was the only dodgy jar I had and I was able to save every last bud in it but if you have to store your buds outside learn from my mistake and test your jars first. Fully submerging them in water for a minute is a good start but don't fully trust anything you wouldn't happily keep at the bottom of a pool for over a month. Trust me when I say you don't want to experience the overwhelming flood of emotions when you see a sight like this so give each jar that minute of attention before using them

What are people's opinions on whether to trim/manicure wet or dry? I've tried both now and found it much easier to trim the sugar leaves after the buds have dried sufficiently to start curing. However, last time I did this in direct sunlight and I could see lots of "stuff" flying about and I'm guessing it was the precious trichomes?? The eyes aren't what they were 10 years ago and I hadn't noticed this problem until I was trimming in the bright light with some magnifying glasses on!

This little lady is the last of my crop for this season and is currently just over 8 weeks into flower. This little girl has been racing along and appears to have matured some 3 weeks earlier than the others. it seems to have taken a long time to get going but once it did it seemed to outpace my other plants. I checked trichomes today and I have definite "clusters" of amber with the majority being milky in color. When examining it for other signs of maturity it appears to me to be ready. The reason I am not sure as its Outdoor plant finished in 8 weeks? This was from a seed from an unknown mother however they were seeds that were "bred" rather than found in a bag(if tha…
