Hey everyone Just curious about the roots that hang under your pot and into the catchment container. The ends of these hang in the remaining nute solution, about 20 mm deep. Is it advisable to trim these periodicly of just leave them in there(whilst trying to keep them clear of drain hole)? I have read somewhere that the plants dont like wet feet... At this stage, there aren't large masses but I imagine it could pose a problem if left too long? I'm watering every 3 hrs for 30 min, the rest of the time the water benieth the plants(that the roots are hanging in) is still... Thanks for advice Cheers

hi all ive moved away from a sterile system (a former fan of h202 no more), and im now trying beneficial bacteria to keep a healthy root zone and deter pythium etc for the coming summer... im currently using nutrifield tri boost, which retails for about $35 for 8 x 30 gr packets (240gr). ive seen it as low as $22 though. and you add 1 packet per 100lts every 7 days. other options ive read about are piranha by advanced nutrients - about $25 for 130 grams. recommended dose is 30 grams per 100 litres every 7 days. so you will go through a fair bit of it in a big rez! bio bugs - about $35 for 50grams which apprently treats 5000lts. sounds very economical? is it a …

Hey... Not actually specifically talking about weed (not exclusively anyway) this time. I grow some other stuff on my balcony too, purple and green basil, catnip, english spinach, rosemary, purple chillis, some jade, a lemon scented plant, oregano, and thyme. Some of these plants are fine, and get left alone...but some seem to get attacked by various bugs. The basil, weed, spinach, and other thin-leafed plants seem to be the main target. These things, they just put holes in the leaves. I have seen one small green caterpiller on them at a point, fed it to my rats. And, there is some kind of little black bug that hangs out under the leaves. Not to mention these big white gr…

So thought I'd try my green thumb out and plant a few seeds... No idea what strain it is though, just had some seeds from one of the plants a friend was growing until the neighbours cut the top off it. I've got them sitting on little pots until they're out of seedling stage along with my other herbs - Funny though the only things that seem to be surviving are the chillis and these little badboys... But anyway, here's a couple of pics of them. They were taken yesterday, and they seemed to have grown that little bit more in the heat today... Tell me what you think of them...

Hello All, I just started my 1st planting & have 13 seedlings popup (they were hydro indoor seedlings i think that are 2yrs old) in an old wheelbarrow. Im planning to keep only 2 or 3 plants but when can I expect to identify between the sexes & seperate them. Or perhaps should I put a few in seperate pots in away from the others?. Im planning to feed & water the 2 or 3 I keep with a dripper from the treated septic system because the filtered water grows the best lawn I've ever seen. I dont know what the seeds were (they were given to me from a friend) but they were a mix of brown with green stripes & a few white seeds. I planted 14 seeds expecting onl…

hi all i have always placed my temperature probe directly beneath the globe on top of the plant tips (therefore it would be measuring the hottest part of the plant). i try and make sure the temperature at this point is less than 30 degrees. with the 1000w hps, this means i need to keep the lilghts 60cm from the tips of the plants. generally the room ambient temp would be alot lower (24 degrees) however ive read that you should measure the temperature away from the direct heat of the globe, eg against the wall or some other part of the room, at canopy level? and that provided that the ambient temperature at this point is below 27 degrees then it doesnt matter if the t…

hi guys, i've just joined this website (jumped ship from planet skunk) have a look at my plant... what do you think M/F? the white hairs should mean a beautiful girl right? she's about three months old, it's an outdoor plant but i move it into the shed everynight for 12/12... been doing that for 2 weeks now. i feed her a miracle grow formula on alternating weeks. havent had any pest problems but the spiders would take care of them anyway, is anybody's plants covered in spiders like mine? couldn't hurt yeah?

Hi all, I'm a new hydro grower and am currently tending my 2 Celtic Stone seedlings in my grow cupboard (1m x 0.5m x 2.1m). Read lots of good things about this strain, so I thought I'd give it a go! Oh yeah, thanks to everyone here whose posts I've read (and keep reading) - you've done alot to give me a solid grounding in my new venture. Anyway, my good mate has given me one of his mothers, which he grew from a clone, and recently harvested. He doesn't know the genetics, but he's been cloning it for a few years, and it's a great smoke. Being a beginner, I didn't expect to have a mother so soon! , so I'm interested in how to care for her. I'd like to flower her a se…
