Bugz....

Hey...

Not actually specifically talking about weed (not exclusively anyway) this time.

I grow some other stuff on my balcony too, purple and green basil, catnip, english spinach, rosemary, purple chillis, some jade, a lemon scented plant, oregano, and thyme.

Some of these plants are fine, and get left alone...but some seem to get attacked by various bugs.

The basil, weed, spinach, and other thin-leafed plants seem to be the main target.

These things, they just put holes in the leaves.

I have seen one small green caterpiller on them at a point, fed it to my rats. And, there is some kind of little black bug that hangs out under the leaves. Not to mention these big white grub things in the soil here and there...

So, I bought some pyrethrum spray...is that all that good? I sprayed some on at night, to see how it would play out, but yknow, it didn't stop things from happening...

I mean, I guess I didn't put a shitload onto the plants or anything.

Also, if I put it on in the daytime, the leaves (especially weed) seem to wilt and/or burn...is this a normal problem?

Is there any suggestions of what I should do?

The wilting could be due to it needing water. I can't help with your other questions.

best beat would be to go to your local nursurie and look for an older person that works there and explain or take samples of the damage too.

 

They Should be able to help you better with the broad range of bugs out there.
