What Cameras ?

Recommended Posts

I know I'm just being picky, but, a "true" macro, is where the image of the thing your taking a photo of is shown at 1:1 or greater on the film or image sensor, compact cameras like all those mentioned above really have only "close up" mode, not macro. The best images will come from a D-SLR, with a macro lens, entry level Digital-Single lens reflex cameras now start around $700-800 for the Pentax with a I think a 18-50mm lens, I would recommend the Nikon D50 (about a $1000) or the new D80 ($1800) the image quality from these cameras surpass the compact ones like you wouldn't believe (the D-SLR sensors are from 4 to 8 times larger than the compacts so record so much more detail), yes they are bigger and more expensive, but for photo quality you won't regret it.
