My brother, Nick who lives in Wollongong, visited the other day and among the gems he brought with him was a digi copy of a Australian Marijuana Party pamphlet from Kiama by-election circa 1985. Maybe some of the old-timers might remember how strong pot was in those days? 30 times stronger today? Ha ha ha what a joke, I remember some mind boggling herb from that era.

One of the main reasons for the prohibition of marijuana, given that it seems these days that people can do it a good deal of the time in the privacy of their own home, is to make it socially unacceptable in the general community. The present level of the law enforcement on this matter results in it's relative acceptance for home use: mainly because the prisons aren't big enough to imprison all of the users, but it is not acceptable for public use or even intoxication (even if the drug was consumed at home). The design of all this is to make being under it's influence in public socially unacceptable. Hence: it is "bad" to drive while stoned on cannabis. This is rega…

If everyone on this site was interviewed as representatives of the stoner community, what impression would we give? Would getting to know the people behind the screen names encourage an argument for law reform or would it only confirm that marijuana destroys lives and stoners are a waste of space. If you don't think your life is a positive example for cannabis law reform then maybe you should do something about it. For yourself if nothing else. If your life isn't a good example to others, how happy can you be with it yourself?

I just read a member here (postman) tried it on in Qld, man I'd love to have been in court that day to see the magistate's red neck light up... But has anyone got any reliable info on this new angle I just read about in USA? I can't find any real way of knowing if they beat their system or not. News Article re: Marijauan Religion finding a loophole The apparent site Septics have a strange view to law. if they find something in their constitution that allowed some horrid thing, something un-imaginable; they'd allow it. Equally, if they found something that was fine and upstanding, but against their consitution, they'd actively destroy it. They have an intensely …

How come the hemp industry looks for support from pot smokers but won't offer their support in return? The hemp industry in Australia not only provides no support for pot smokers, but goes out of its way to distance itself from us. Most people in the hemp industry would gladly see all stoners locked up if it meant they'd become millionaires. If you think hemp can save the planet then great but don't think by supporting the hemp indistry they will do the same for us, because they won't. BTW I notice the cops have street cams in Nimbin these days. PS - The hemp industry can go fuck itself IMO

This may well have been cited here before, and I oppologise if that's so, but I found an interesting statistic on channel 9's web site. They listed all the results of surveys over a couple years, one of which was "Should Marijuana be legalised? Here's the results- April 1, 2001: Should marijuana be legalised? Yes: 7386 No: 7175 NINE MSN SURVEY RESULTS So when should we expect the change? cheers rob

Well the site I've been harping on and on about is finally open www.MarijuanaAustraliana.net Please come on over and check it out, register an account and post to the forums. This is your site, the whole point of this project is to give us a place to discuss and plan the outright legalisation of cannabis in Australia. I'm not hosting anything to do with cultivation, the primary focus is on cannabis law reform. I'm not trying to replace OzStoners or split the community - this site is fantastic. Please get involved! We're not going to get anywhere without your support, we need as many Australians to register and contribute as possible. You don't…

The South Australian election is less than a fortnight away. A Liberal majority will see the state's cannabis expiation system overhauled - fines will be increased, or the entire system may be scrapped. This will result in more cannabis users being targeted by law enforcement, greater hardship for our community, and it will not reduce cannabis use, cultivation, availability or harm - not a single one of their aims will be achieved with Zero Tolerance laws. If you're in SA, please vote 1 for the Greens. Do not vote Labor or an Independent, VOTE GREEN! You may think that this is a two party system, and either Labor or Liberal will get in anyway so you may as well vote…

I just think she would turn Australia around and lead it back towards a New Zealand type mentality and not towards this tragic hard line economical vision that the liberals are hell bent on. I think this is far more pressing than simply trying to get the greens in. I think Labour under Gillard will head greener anyways. And green pressure can still be applied while they are in.... the hand brake needs to be applied to Howards Way. Just my two sense. I'm getting organised to move to NZ in the next four years cause thise place is getting led so so far to the dogs... Its less about a single (selfish) 'hemp' policy, and more about getting Liberal 'out'

Hi all, HEMP are running in the upperhouse in the SA election and the candidate is Lisa Crago. The updated site is http://hemp.on.net HEMP HELP LINE 0439 800 891 Lisa is a 30ish with a degree in political science from Flinders Uni, a parent, not your average 'stoner' and currently completin a Law Degree. With a very short lead in time the campaign has had a jump start thanks to the hard line policiy of Liberal, Family First, No Drugs plus the Greens in SA dumping its legalisation policy. As a past Federal campaign manager for the Greens Lisa is no stranger to politics. She is also aware of the 'greenwash' of the SA Greens still pretending to advocate for r…

I am considering starting a couple of plants in my girlfriends house. In the shed to be precise. My girlfriend owns the house however we both will be living there. the shed will be my domain to which i hold the only key and i will be paying her rent. She is currently studying to be a high school teacher and hence will be employed by the state. Q- if we gut busted, can i claim full responsibility and can she stick to "i know nothing" will this ride? or are they going to do the owner of the property despite a signed confession from me. There would be money to get a solicitor to defend her if necessary. as i am sure you are aware, with a drug record, her carrer would be …

Hey guys, Following recent announcements from the Howard government, it's become clear that a very organised anti-cannabis offensive is reaching its peak. NAPNT have dubbed this The Cannabis Wars 2006, and I agree that this year is going to be a very pivotal year for our community. If you were ever contemplating getting involved, even if only in the form of anonymous donations or support in whatever way you can contribute, then NOW is the time. This is really important guys, we have a very important battle ahead of us and if we win strategic ground in the next few months then it's going to make all of our lives much easier, and keep our families that much safer. If…

Hi everyone, i'm just new to OS, but i was recently reading the QLD 'Drugs misuse act 1986' and the 'Drugs misuse regulation 1987' and noticed a possible loophole in the legislation. www.legislation.qld.gov.au/ LEGISLTN/CURRENT/D/DrugsMisuseA86.pdf www.legislation.qld.gov.au/ LEGISLTN/CURRENT/D/DrugsMisuseR87.pdf As stated in drugs misuse A86, part 2, penalties apply for a number of offences concerning schedule 2 substances, however, in drugs misuse R87 (part 5), schedule 2 lists only Cannabis Sativa. What about Cannabis indica? Could this be classed under Cannabinoids? Does anyone think that this could be a justifiable defence if someone was to be prosecuted, …
