Cannabis can be propagated by taking cuttings, but eventually the vigour of the strain will diminish over successive generations; taking clones from clones over and over often results in weaker and lower yielding plants. The strain loses it’s full genetic expression over time when cloned repeatedly. What is the mechanism that causes this? Recently “autoflowering” strains of cannabis have been introduced that have lost their photoperiodicity, and start blooming after a short period of growth, regardless of the day length. This radical change in phenotype from the normal genetic expression for cannabis is very useful, but what is at play inside the cell that we are manipu…

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/apr/20/canada-legislation-decriminalize-recreational-cannabis-weed-marijuana Canada’s Liberal government will introduce legislation to decriminalise and regulate recreational marijuana in spring 2017, according to the health minister, Jane Philpott. The prime minister, Justin Trudeau, promised during last year’s election campaign that his government would legalise recreational marijuana, following the US states of Washington and Colorado, but the time frame has been unclear. Philpott, speaking on Wednesday at a special session of the UN general assembly in New York on drug problems around the world, said the Canadian law will en…

Hi all, I'm new to this so I'll keep things brief. I've got a shit cunt of a medical condition which I have tried to control with many different drugs prescribed by the doctor. None of them have worked and instead have made the condition worse. Weed works great but when you use the same strain over and over it begins to lose its effectiveness. Currently I'm using regular street stuff (if that's what you call it?) but it is not really doing anything anymore. So how do I go about trying other strains? Growing my own stuff isn't possible. Getting access to medical weed won't be available for another 10 months. Don't really know what to do. I live in Perth btw Post…

Did anyone else see this? Too funny LOL http://mashable.com/2017/04/20/hydroponic-weed-pop-up-420-sydney/#kyujHyx_NmqK Empty shop becomes a hydroponic weed setup on 420, but there's a big catch 602 Share Tweet BY JOHNNY LIEU 1 DAY AGO 420 day is here, and in light of the fact that it's still very illegal to smoke or possess cannabis in Australia, a pop-up protest with a difference has emerged. A retail storefront featuring hydroponic weed showed up on Thursday in Sydney's Kings Cross and rather bold protest slash installation got the internet collective tongue wagging. "Who are we hurting?" asks the signs on the storefront sign, while inside, trestle tabl…

April 18, 2017 by Deniliquin Pastoral Times http://www.riverineherald.com.au/regional/2017/04/18/84424/schmackos-cant-hide-drugs-from-alert-dogs Saw this in the local paper and had a bit of a chuckle.. Although it's a little frustrating because this article very much supports the 'dumb stoner' stereotype. Police are used to seeing unusual methods that people invent to hide prohibited drugs. But one had them more intrigued than usual during a local operation last week. An alleged offender had drugs hidden in a bag of Schmackos dog treats. The ploy came unstuck thanks to alert sniffer dogs, with police admitting the fact the person had no dog did not help their cause.…

Geocities: The Digital Genesis
In the bustling digital streets of the late '90s, Yahoo Geocities stood out as a haven for burgeoning online communities. It was here, amidst this digital renaissance, that OZ Stoners planted its foundational roots. This marked the dawn of a space that would go on to become synonymous with Australian cannabis culture.

A Hiatus and the Phoenix's Ascent
Come 2022, OZ Stoners entered a period of unplanned dormancy, lasting a challenging 12 months. But, reminiscent of the legendary phoenix, this hiatus was transformed into an opportunity for rebirth. The platform underwent comprehensive upgrades, server enhancements, and a revitalising overhaul. As it emerged, it did so with a phoenix-like rise, soaring higher and brighter, dedicated to serving the community with even more zeal and purpose.
Ode to the Trailblazers
The tapestry of OZ Stoners is woven with the dedication and vision of its founding members. Their relentless drive and contributions have been the bedrock of its success. While many of these pioneers continue to shape its direction, we pause to honor those trailblazers we've lost over time. Their indomitable spirit continues to inspire and resonate within the cannabis community. - Memorial Hall
