Source: THC Seeds VANCOUVER - The U.S. war on drugs is a miserable failure, New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson said yesterday. "Where I sit as governor of the state of New Mexico ... half of what we spend on law enforcement, half of what we spend on the courts, half of what we spend in the prisons is drug-related," Johnson told a news conference. The governor was among leaders from the business and medical communities and public policy experts at a symposium to explore the economic case for an integrated approach to Vancouver's drug problems. The United States arrests 1.6 million people a year for drug-related crimes, 90% of those for possession only......

Santa Cruz Defies U.S. On Marijuana lead excerpt By William Booth Washington Post Staff Writer Wednesday, September 18, 2002; Page A03 SANTA CRUZ, Calif., Sept 17 -- There were speeches from lawyers about freedom and pleas from doctors for compassion and some rhetoric against the Bush administration. Then the patients began to roll forward in their wheelchairs to get their prescriptions -- their marijuana buds and pot cupcakes -- on the steps of City Hall. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * THAT is progress. I'd give my left pinkie finger to have such courageous, committed political representation.

Source: Working Assets By Bill Berkowitz Every day Mary Lucey takes AIDS medications to stay alive. Without medical marijuana she gets so nauseous she can't keep the pills down. Lucey, a veteran activist and Interim AIDS Coordinator for the city of Los Angeles, serves on the board of the L.A. Cannabis Resource Center. When the LACRC was raided by the DEA in October, 2001, Lucey lost her safe, reliable source of medicine. Jim and Roni Bowers and their children, religious missionaries working in South America, were in a plane shot down over Peru on April 20, 2001. It was a U.S. government-coordinated "drug interdiction" that went bad and Roni and her one-year-old daugh…

You may of heard mention in a previous post on the forthcoming release of the Canadian Senate Special Committee on Illegal Drugs Report. Well the report has been published and if you'd like to read it, it can be found at http://www.parl.gc.ca/37/1/parlbus/commbus...e/summary-e.pdf (mods if this link should not have been put here I apologise) I've just finished reading the report and I thought it was amazing to say the least, a very liberal and dare I say it understanding approach to decriminilizing and regulating cannabis. Has anybody else read the report yet and if so what are your thoughts? And do you think we can promote this sort of approach here?

Busted!: Afghan Farmers to Harvest Marijuana =>Posted by: logos. =>Thursday, September 12 @ 16:20:00 MST Source: Herald Tribune KHANA ABAD, Afghanistan (AP) - Obeying a Taliban edict, many marijuana cultivators in Afghanistan stopped growing their crops when the hardline Islamic militia was in power. Now some of those farmers are back in business. They're so open about it that fields of sturdy marijuana plants, some nearly seven feet tall, line part of the main road leading west from Mazar-e-Sharif, the biggest city in northern Afghanistan. Resin from the plant, also known as cannabis, is concentrated to make hashish. With the main harvest expected in one t…

or in my case, start growing. better quality weed for less cost, not just for the growers but for everyone. no crime or street dealers less chance to get busted by undercovers buying weed. (if everyone grew no one would need to sell to strangers) If you do sell, put something back into the cause. Donate to this site, use SPC, donate to charity. whatever, but do something positive with your grow after you've looked after yourself.

Source: The Halifax Herald Limited By Sue Bailey / The Canadian Press Ottawa - Marijuana users who claim the drug is harmless will have their chance to sway Canada's top judges on Dec. 13 - a Friday. Geocities: The Digital Genesis
In the bustling digital streets of the late '90s, Yahoo Geocities stood out as a haven for burgeoning online communities. The platform underwent comprehensive upgrades, server enhancements, and a revitalising overhaul. As it emerged, it did so with a phoenix-like rise, soaring higher and brighter, dedicated to serving the community with even more zeal and purpose.
Ode to the Trailblazers
The tapestry of OZ Stoners is woven with the dedication and vision of its founding members. Their relentless drive and contributions have been the bedrock of its success. While many of these pioneers continue to shape its direction, we pause to honor those trailblazers we've lost over time. Their indomitable spirit continues to inspire and resonate within the cannabis community. - Memorial Hall
