Saw this in the local paper and had a bit of a chuckle..  Although it's a little frustrating because this article very much supports the 'dumb stoner' stereotype.

Police are used to seeing unusual methods that people invent to hide prohibited drugs.

But one had them more intrigued than usual during a local operation last week.

An alleged offender had drugs hidden in a bag of Schmackos dog treats. The ploy came unstuck thanks to alert sniffer dogs, with police admitting the fact the person had no dog did not help their cause. lol lol (emphasis and smiley mine)

Inspector John Aichinger, from Deniliquin Police, said 11 charges for possession of prohibited drugs were laid as part of the operation, which focused predominantly on the transport of prohibited drugs to the annual Confest Festival, on the Pretty Pine Rd at Moulamein.

He said police regularly see unique ways in which people try to conceal drugs and are aware of the lengths people go to in an effort to hide drugs on their body or in a vehicle.

“It’s why we use the special skills of drug detection dogs,” Insp Aichinger said.

On Wednesday and Thursday, four drug detection dogs and 16 police were deployed to two locations conducting random breath tests, drug dog scanning and vehicle and person searches as part of the operation.

Police conducted 689 breath tests, 45 vehicle searches and 85 person searches, which resulted in 11 charges for possession of a prohibited drug and 15 cannabis cautions.
