Best place to buy LEDs in Aus?

True Naycha, I am curious about Led's, as we know, but Diablos, when you say things like people are beyond reaching, in regards to what you are trying to convey to the rest of us, you come across as somebody who is trying to convert people to led. Relax brother, when, and if leds do appeal to the cannabis growers of this country, then it will happen. Just don't force the issue, and you will find less tension in your discussion. To any newbies searching for real information, there is no best place to buy LED's. LED's grow stretched cabbage that will get you beaten up at parties do yourself a favour, save your money and buy the proven performer, HPS lighting 

 

HPS will grow you tight nuggets, something LED cannot manage. Even a 250w HPS will outperform LED's, check Ozzy420 grow diary here at Ozstoners for what a 250wHPS can do.

 

The plants below were NOT grown under LED.

I taken a lot of shit from you Diablos, a lot of it quiet personal over the last few weeks, but I been busy GROWING buds...... so here ya go, suck on this.....   ...... All vegged under CFL, flowered under HPS. And I'm still using Caveman Magnetic Ballasts...... .... 150 bucks each......

 

 

You got 2 chances of pulling buds like that from out under an LED panel...... None, and SFA... .  You aint got the intensity......

 

..... Proof is in the Pudding.... not pretty words and off site links........ and pretty christmas tree lights......

 

HID....... kicking arse all the way to harvest  .

 

Now crawl back in ya hole, and don't come out till ya got something to flap ya lips about....

I would really like to see the peer reviewed article you were talking about that compares Cannabis grown under led and hps (if it exists) cheers.

hi shroomy, the little planter at the top is Legends Ultimate Indica, pic 3 is a Skunk cross ? made by mistake, the pointy sativa in the middle was another unknown female I transplanted and revegged after harvest from a friend from the Sunshine Coast area    the "bazooka bagseed" now the property of the Qld Police Force (2nd pic & pic 8) and the rest are bazooka crossed with a sativa-ish  Kali Mist/Black Domina which are definately bazooka dominant. The bazooka has a very earthy hashy taste, extremely tight nuggets,  rumoured to be mostly Afghani,.. not the most powerful out there but definately a top quality, quick flowering, tasty, stinky, quick hitting alrounder.

heya Shroomy =) , mine are Acapulco Gold #2 and Tangerine Dream, both Barneys Farm strains, both Sati dom plants.

The Acapulco is a real nice smoko, smells like ripe bananas in flower, Tangerine dream is live a orangy, citrus smell but with earthy undertones.

Love to get them outside where they can go right off........ like a frog in a sock.....

So LEDs are altogether rubbish and should never be purchased over CFL or HIDs?

 

That's sort of the message this thread gives, though its mostly stupid flaming and doesn't really contain much in the way useful info.

Personally I'm still interested in LEDs, they do appear to be very good for veg, or am I wrong?

Leds are ok for veg. but far too expensive when a CFL or two will do the same job.

May as well use CFLamps. Nice cool daylight ones are quite cheap and work well.

Flowering with HID lamps will give you those tight big heads, if you do everything else correctly.

Everyone wants cheaper power bills and less heat etc. But look at what a 250watt HID can do.

Even a "proper" 250watt LED wouldn't have a show at that.

And with LED folk, 250watts would most probably mean 80 watts!!!

That's another thing about LEDs. Real true wattage specs are difficult to find.
