Hey guys, Just curious - I live in SA and the air here is quite dry (not to mention very cold here) do you guys use a vaporiser or humidifier for your grow tent? I had a vaporiser sitting in my cupboard so I've been using that but it's a constant battle to get the water out of the bottom of the tent. Are humidifiers any better?

These cheaps fans that are in allot of online hydro stores are touting some seriously good specs(better than a can-fan max) for the price point. Has anyone heard these running in person to back up the stats? Grofan stats Vs Can-fan maxfan(double the price) 6inch growlush grofan: 52w, 375cfm, 37db!? $130 http://www.growlush.com/productcat/grofan/ 6inch Can-Fan Max Pro: 46w, 353cfm, cant seem to find a solid db rating for this fan but im reading different websites between 50 - 70db $242! http://www.hydroexperts.com.au/Can-Fan-Max-Pro-Fan-150MM-6-Inch-353CFM-2-Speed-Mixed-Flow Half the noise at half the price and comparible(on paper anyway) cfm, is this even possible…

Hey guys. I’ve been growing in my house under a 200w cfl. Simple set up, bulb plugs right into Australian power socket. Today I bought a ballast and a 400w hps lamp, but one of the sockets on the ballast has different plug, looks like the earth is rounded instead of a normal slit. This I assume is what plugs into the back of the light where my cfl is attached to. My question is do I have to go and buy the reflector from the hydro shop just to be able to plug this straight in? Or can I just cut out this weird ass socket and replace it with a normal one from an extension wire? Sorry I’m hopeless with this

howdy family, hope we are all going well, ill assume every one remembers how most of my past grows have gone. at best really well at worst growing for someone else but didnt know i was. so heres why im in this part of OS, ive just inherited a set up from a mate. (im taking everything ive been told with a grain of salt). main kit: jungle room tent 1x1x2 600w HPS with cool tube whisper silencer fan with carbon filter. so the main question ive got is how do you set up the cool tube? from what i can gather the carbon filter doesnt come off the fan (or its a bastard and stuck on well) and it sucks through the filter blows through the light then out through the ho…

Order arrived directly from china for a cmh 315w, all up cost were AUD$226 shipped by express shipping, shipping took 4 or 5 days by TNT full tracked and it was only scanned by customs no inspecting the item or opening the box the quality of the unit is top notched for China quality only the lamp is a bit wobbly in the screw fixture/fitting, powered it up yesterday no noise from the ballast no hums etc... i got mine with a AU round earth pin so i could use it with Aussie reflectors, my batteries were flat so the remote control didn't work but its a nice little light for what i paid customer service was the best anything i wanted to change was changed within minutes, …

Ok ive decided to go indoors or my wife has decided to let me grow indoors much to my surprise. Now i know absolutely fuck all about lightning as ive only ever grown outside. Im going to buy a 1.2 x 2.4 tent. Question is what lighting should i use. Im not really bias either way. I like HPS for the colder months but i like LED for the warmer months. Ive been doin some reading about life span of each light and some say there LEDs last for up 50k hours now that sounds like total bullshit to me but i really dont know as others say like shitty mars that their lights loose 5% a year in efficiency not that i would buy one. Ive also read some HPS only have a life span of 1000 ho…

Morning all. I thought this was a really simple thing to do, but for some reason I have managed to fuck it up. Any help or advice appreciated. So, I have this driver and two of these boards: I have wired up the source power by connecting the obvious colours together. Blue to Blue, Brown to Pinky/brown and Yellow/green to Yellow/green (surely this is correct?). The driver came from the states if that makes any difference (left of the photo). The power lead to plug to the wall was purchased in Australia. (right side of photo). I have then wired the two boards in series. The positive output from the driver to the Positive terminal on the first board. T…

LED lights for home use have become very popular and many people are considering them for growing plants, especially for starting seedlings. It sounds like a great idea. LED lights use very little electricity so they save money, and they don’t produce a lot heat so they can be placed close to your plants. Sounds perfect and many people have started to use them with success. Unfortunately, others have found that they don’t work too well and one reason is that manufacturers don’t tell you the truth about their products. I know that is hard to believe – but it’s true, they go out of their way to confuse you. In this post I will have a close look at just one aspect of LED gro…

Just curious, on the gram per watt rating, do the led growers quote the Watts as what it actually draws? As in how nearly all leds blurples, mars, etc all actually pull way less than the rated. So I'm assuming to use the gr/W comparison led growers would use actual over the rated.

Can anyone recommend a good electrical timer? Preferably digital? I’ve just gone through a HPM and Arlec digital ones over the weekend. HPM wouldn’t reliably switch on and the Arlec would just switch off by itself when it chose too. Completely useless. Checked two hydro shops and both have different brands with no reviews.. Any suggestions appreciated.

Ok so I'm told my small tent too small really for HPS, At 50cm X 90cm X 120cm high converted is 19sq ft Read that need 32w per square foot, not sure how correct that is. But brings me in at 600w Like to go full cycle programmable if possible. If not can use timer. Budget about 250 What can anyone recommend ? Can't really go bigger tent, no space, one plant suffice me. Cheers
