Source: www.news.com.au I feel so bad for that guy, he gets busted with a little over a half ounce and under 3g of hash and they are considering killing him why cant the indonesian's simply deport all the foriegners on the basis they'll be prosecuted when they get home? it would make them look a hell of alot better to the rest of the world and it will still send a strong message that drugs wont be tolerated

RISING dependence on cannabis is the driver behind a Wodonga program to help users quit the drug. The first session of Cautious with Cannabis will be run at Wodonga’s Upper Hume Community Health Service on November 12 at 6pm. Service rural outreach diversion worker, Nick Bannon, said about 300,000 Australians used cannabis each day. Mr Bannon said there is no specific usage figures available for the North East. “But the number of cannabis users is always growing. It’s growing on a daily basis,” he said. Cautious with Cannabis is aimed just as squarely at family and friends as cannabis users. “It explains exactly what cannabis is and how it is used, the effects…

Does anyone think high profile people who get busted could be recruited to campaign the cause against prohibition in general? If there were enough of them it might start to have an effect. Lot's of Michelle (what's her name?_got busted with e in Bali) might be nice. Gotta take support from the mainstream media. BTW... did anyone see that US. Presidential Candidate Ron Paul called for an end to the War on Drugs?....clever man. I wish we had someone with the balls he's got.

The destructive impact of cannabis on indigenous communities was rammed home to Coroner Alastair Hope yesterday as he was confronted with more proof of the squalor endured by Aboriginal communities in the Kimberley. A young Aboriginal man living in a remote community in the Fitzroy Valley told Mr Hope he had been admitted to Graylands Hospital twice because of heavy cannabis use. Kelvin Gordon, 26, said many young people in his community of Yiyili, 180km east of Fitzroy Crossing, smoked the drug. He said he had spent a month in Graylands psychiatric hospital but no longer used cannabis. Mr Hope spent the day visiting indigenous communities on the outskirts of Fitzroy …

In recent times stories have done the rounds of super-strength cannabis or skunk that can be up to 20 or 30 times more potent than it was a decade ago. New research released in the UK last week suggests that although there does appear to be a small rise in potency, there is little evidence that super-strength skunk is dominating the market. Two studies analysed nearly 550 samples of so-called skunk seized by the police. Both concluded that the average content of the main psychoactive agent in skunk strains of cannabis, THC, has doubled from seven percent in 1995 to 14 percent in 2005, contradicting recent claims that most of the skunk on sale in Britain now routinely ha…

Victoria Police have charged a 17-year-old boy with trafficking after finding 85 grams of heroin and 28 grams of amphetamines in Melbourne's inner north. Melbourne Regional Response Unit members yesterday executed a search warrant at a flat in Carlton, where they uncovered heroin with an approximate street value of $30,000 and 'ice' valued at around $5,000. "A small amount of cannabis was also seized along with equipment for trafficking and stolen goods including a plasma TV, projector, DVD player, mobile phones and luxury watches," a Victoria Police spokeswoman said. Police have charged the teenager with trafficking and being in possession of heroin and amphetamine…

Tuesday Sep 25 17:34 AEST Recipes for illegal drugs and the possession of equipment to make them will be banned under proposed South Australian government legislation. SA Attorney-General Michael Atkinson on Tuesday introduced legislation to parliament that banned the possession of drug-related recipes and equipment without a reasonable excuse. Mr Atkinson said under the legislation people would have to prove why they have equipment used in the hydroponic cultivation of cannabis or face a maximum two years jail or a $10,000 fine. The laws would also apply to equipment for clandestine drug laboratories and drug recipes, including those to make "hash cookies" and al…

I hate to be the bearer of more bad news. Could this sit be classed as a crime site? This government is trying to pass some very Nazi type laws lately. The election can't come soon enough. http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story...2-15306,00.html from the australian.news.com.au

Source: www.news.com.au you'd think with them knowing the 18-25's are calling bullshit about the mental issues caused by drugs, in particular cannabis, they wouldnt be trying to make the teenagers believe they will get a mental illness from using drugs sure they might scare some kids away from drugs which will be a great thing, but once they grow up and start thinking for themself they'll try other drugs, not end up in a mental ward and then re-evaluate everything they have been told about drugs in the past

Did anyone else get the 'Talking with your kids about drugs' propaganda? I do not disagree with helping out parents with dealing with drug use by the their children... but the fact that this slip by under everyone's noses is disgusting. Boasting figures over a billion dollars in fighting the drug trade and comparing figures such as the rise of cannabis convictions vs the amount of ice users (weird how as more people are charged for soft drugs the hard drug rates rise...). Reading it, it appears to be more anti-illicit drug propaganda to fuel the election (of course I knew this as soon as I say the side that said 'drugs and young people an important message from the prim…

A substance found in the cannabis plant helps the body’s natural protective system clear dry, scaly skin rashes caused by allergic dermatitis, according to researchers from the U.S., Germany, Israel, Italy and Switzerland. Allergic dermatitis commonly causes acne-like rashes on the cheeks, eyelids and neck, as well as on areas of the elbow and the back of knees. Prolonged episodes can lead to facial wrinkles, thickening of the skin and facial pigmentation. The problem begins in youth and can continue through adulthood. Allergic contact dermatitis affects about 5 percent of men and 11 percent of women in industrialized countries, according to an article published in th…
