Pair charged over drugs in car

A MAN and a woman have been charged with trafficking after police allegedly found a haul of drugs in their car in north Queensland.

 

The pair were parked at a petrol station on the Bruce Highway, Townsville, when they were approached by police yesterday afternoon following concerns from members of the public, police said.

 

The officers allegedly found cannabis, amphetamines and a sum of cash in the car.

 

A 44-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man were charged with numerous drug-related offences, including trafficking and possession of a dangerous drug and utensils.

 

They are due to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court today.
