Ben Cousins and the evil nasty drugses

Recommended Posts

OK i did a bit of research on this Benny cousins , ... as i type radio reports that 'on Monday police will drop drug charges against Cousins' .. yea ? so what's the go there ? ... rumour has it he was nabbed with a few generic valium-type pills, apparently legally prescribed for rehabilitating former drug abusers to help take the edge off 'withdrawal' ...

so maybe the pigglys arent half as smart as they thought themselves to be , though he is still on charge of refusing to take 'drug assesment' or some such test ...

Obviously the guy is getting though some personel shit over this year and is returning to complete his drug rehab course as he always planned to do ...

What is patently obvious is the pig hoWARd had to throw in his 2cents worth by telling the public 'I think one of the things we have to do is stop glamorising them by calling them recreational drugs and party drugs - all drugs are evil ! ...

thank ya lucky stars its in an election campagin otherwise hoWARd would whip up enough support to bring back hanging for drug offenders :)

anyways im in full support of benny cousins, he likes drugs ... ;) hehe .. so do I ... ;) ;) lol

Poor ben. I thought he got caught with coke or something. All that drama over diazapan (valium).

Poor bastard. I can't say i've ever liked the guy a great deal, but fuck the bloke is getting screwed over big time. All that effort into straightening himself out and he loses his contract with the eagles. It's bs i think.

I think he'll play again. If they ban him from afl altogether over some diazapan, they're nazis.

lol

As for a spokesman, personally i think you can't go past Andrew Johns. Unforetunately, you get ppl like chris mainwaring, who was found with pretty much every drug you can think of in his body. So all drug taking will be seen by the ignorant as irresponsible behaviour that leads to death. Just a fact of life. I dont' think anything will change.

p.s I just heard Ben Cousins is sueing the W.A police for ruining his career. I hope he gets a million. The fact that it was anti-bikie police with a camera crew, was way over the top and i hope they get their arse kicked.

I dont' like police very much ;) I got that many beatings from them as a teen, and they tried to breach my suspended sentence and put me in jail over less than a gram of weed in a bowl in my car. It's all bs and it's time some shit comes back their way

I personally dont like Benny boy. But i do object to the way he has been treated right throughout this ordeal.

The WA Police Service has a lot to answer for, they have destroyed his career. Im guessing if Ben took them to court he could walk away with 10+ million, he was only 29 so he still had a few years left. The officers involved should be sacked. I doubt very much that the refusing the driver drug assessment will actually stick due to the way police handled it.

It shits me to tears that the government looks over its citizens and tries to stop me from putting whatever I want into MY body. If I want to put something into my body, as long as it does not harm anyone else, then it isn't anybodies fucking problem but my own.

The Herd had the right idea in their song 77%.

Wake up - this country needs a fucking shake up

Wake up - these c*nts need a shake up

100% agreed. I think the WA cops were shadowing Cousins and invented a reason to bail him up. Once you've been busted for drugs, you're low-hanging fruit- a permanent client of the criminal justice system. I bet the coppers who arrested him thought they were going to be feted as some sort of heroes... well, that didn't work...

I'm not only not an Eagles/Cousins fan, I could not possibly care less about sport in general. However, what a person wants to do in their off-hours is less than none of the concern of their employer.

When Cousins is done suing the daylights out of the WA cops, he should be looking for a great big fat payout from the Eagles.

Police refuse to confirm or deny undercover Ben Cousins sting !

POLICE have refused to confirm or deny whether Ben Cousins and fellow former West Coast Eagle Daniel Chick were caught up in an undercover sting that included round-the-clock surveillance and mobile-phone taps.

The Sunday Times can reveal that:

Police allowed Cousins unlimited calls on his mobile phone after his arrest on Tuesday.

$2850 in cash was found in the Toyota Kluger, the sponsor's car driven by Cousins, and seized by organised-crime detectives who searched the car.

Cousins and a woman with him when the car was stopped had been visitors to Northbridge strip club The Voodoo Lounge, a popular bikie haunt, in recent weeks.

The arrest came after four days of partying, including a weekend party at Chick's home in Quinns Rocks, where Cousins had been living on-and-off since the death of his close friend, Eagles legend Chris Mainwaring.

Police have said Cousins was pulled over because of "erratic driving'', but have not said why Chick was stopped about the same time.

It has been reported that Cousins, Chick and another man were seen at Russell Square, a park in Northbridge, on Tuesday. Cousins and Chick left the park in separate cars. Minutes later, they were independently stopped by police and their cars searched before Cousins was taken to the police traffic branch and Chick to police headquarters.

On Friday, police said they would drop a drug possession charge against Cousins, which related to nine tablets of diazepam allegedly found on him.

Assistant Commissioner (specialist crime) Wayne Gregson said prosecutors would officially withdraw the charge tomorrow because, under the Misuse of Drugs Act, diazepam was a prohibited substance only in injectable liquid form.

He said police also discovered prohibited pain reliever Oxycontin, sex enhancers Viagra and Caverta, and sedative alprazolam in Cousins' car. A $20 note bearing traces of ecstasy and cocaine was allegedly found on a woman in the car.

Police will allege also that cocaine, cannabis and drug paraphernalia were found in searches of two properties.

A passenger in Chick's car, 33-year-old Northbridge man Nathan Greaves, has been charged with two counts of possessing prohibited drugs (cocaine and cannabis) and a smoking implement. He will appear in Perth Magistrates Court tomorrow. No charges have been laid against Chick.

Cousins still faces one charge of refusing the driver assessment. He will appear in court on that charge on January 21.

A drug charge that led to Ben Cousins’ sacking from the West Coast Eagles AFL Club was officially dropped in Perth Magistrate’s Court this morning.

The 29-year-old midfielder was sacked by West Coast last Wednesday, a day after being charged with possessing a prohibited drug and refusing a police driver assessment.

He was alleged to be found carrying diazepam without a prescription after being pulled over for driving erratically in Northbridge last Tuesday.

But police were later advised that the charge was only valid if the drug was in liquid form. Cousins was allegedly carrying tablets.

Cousins was not required to appear in Perth Magistrates Court today, where police prosecutors dropped the drug charge for “want of prosecution”. He was awarded $50 costs.

Outside the court, Cousins’ lawyer Shane Brennan said the second charge would be “vigorously defended” by Cousins when he next appears in court on January 21.

“Both he and I are absolutely delighted,” he said of today’s result.

Mr Brennan would not discuss when Cousins planned to go to the US for rehabilitation.

He said he would be seeking legal advice from a civil lawyer over whether Cousins could sue over the events that led to his sacking last week.

Meanwhile, a man charged with possessing cocaine and cannabis after being pulled over in a car with former West Coast AFL star Daniel Chick has been granted an adjournment to study police records.

Nathan Greaves, 33, appeared in the Perth’s Magistrates Court today charged with possession of cocaine, cannabis and a smoking implement.

He was charged last Tuesday after police raided his home after pulling over a car being driven by Chick, 31, in Northbridge.

Chick’s car was pulled over at the same time as Cousins’ car on Tuesday last week.

Police questioning of Chick and Mr Greaves led to raids on two homes, which they claim uncovered quantities of cocaine, cannabis, methylamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

In court today, Mr Greaves’ lawyer Peter Momber was granted an adjournment to December 3 so he could look at police data including running sheets, police diaries, statements and surveillance tapes.

“Until I have an opportunity to see all those I would like the matter to be adjourned,” Mr Momber said.

Chick was released without charge after being questioned. Police said inquiries were continuing.
