got my hands on a sample of dutchmaster silica. only 1lt to try it out it says its a 'flowering supplement'. its npk is 0.0.10 6% silica and 10% potassium says add every 2 weeks. question 1 - can or should it be used in veg or just flower? question 2 - can it be used in conjunctino with a pk additive (or would the K be too much in combination) question 3 - can it be used with h202 thanks guys

hi all read this comment on the old cached overgrow "superbud - all normal nutes and additives can be used with it all except peroxide-based products!" Question 1 - is this correct? (my understanding was that H202 i.e. hydrogen peroxide such as oxyplus, should not be used with any oranic supplements. I thought superbud wasn't organic) Questions 2 - if this is correct, would it equally apply to other similar flowering enhancing hormones such as sudden impact, rockjuice, quick turn etc (ie paclo based products) or is it only 'superbud' Thanks

INSECTS IN THE GARDEN APHIDS: To keep aphids and other pests off your roses: Finely chop 1 onion 2 medium cloves of garlic Put ingredients into a blender with 2 cups of water and blend on high. Strain out pulp. Pour liquid into spray bottle. Spray a fine mist on rose bushes, making sure to coat both tops and bottoms of leaves. ALUMINUM FOIL "FOILS" APHIDS Use an aluminum foil much around the base of plants such as tomatoes. The reflection confuses the insects and drives them away. SPIDER MITES: Combine 1/2 cup buttermilk, 4 cups wheat flour and 5 gallons water. Suffocates spider mites and other mites. MEALYBUGS: Apply rubbing alcohol to insect clusters with …

"If you want to get real fancy, you can tweak the pH of your solution to allow more nitrogen in the growth phases and then readjust during the bloom phase for more phosphorous uptake." anyone know what the optimum ph is in the grow and bloom phases???? ive always run 5.8 to 6.0 in rockwool. but ive heard that there is a optimum level for each stage - as per above. just cant find what it is!

Hello all First of all I have just got a '21kg master foods mayonaise' bucket today and don't know how many litres it holds yet. Anyone out there happen to know? otherwise I will measure it out myself. Anyway it looks to be around 20L, so I need to get an air pump for my experimental DWC setup after sciard fly and spidermite ruined my last plants in soil. What size pump should I get? I need it to run one ceramic airstone in the bubbler and one in the nutrient tank which im going to put 40L of nutrient in (is this right for one bubbler?) So I guess i'm asking a couple of questions but mainly how big is a 21kg master foods mayonaise bucket? what size air p…

Hi all 3 quick questions :) What are some methods that I can use to keep my nutrient tank cool? I want it to be on 21c all the time. Does the water from the nutrient tank and the water from the bubbler buckets (in my case 1 bucket) get rotated around? Or does all the water in the tank just get sucked through the connecting lines to the bubblers when the level drops? How do I get the plant growing in the clayballs and the roots established enough but without planting any rockcubes etc in the clay? treestump

Low Stress Training is the manipulation of young plants to produce early lateral growth without topping. Topping or tipping can cause stalled growth and even stunt plants too young to have their main growth tip removed. LST is recommended if you have height restrictions in your grow or plan on growing with a screen. HOW? OK. Once a seedling or clone has 2-3 sets of leaves it can begin to be manipulated. Two wires or ties are used on the main stem. One near the base to secure the plant firmly where it is as the second one near the top (under top set of leaves if purchase is available) and pulling in the opposite direction of the bottom wire/tie bringing the top of …

Backcrossing is crossing the newly grown seed with the parent plant where that seed came from, right? And not with a new strain? How will backcrossing a plant effect the next generation? for example, seeds that are backcrossed twice. why would you do this? And is backcrossing twice crossing the newly grown seed with each consecutive seeds own parent twice or with its parents parent once (two generations back) cripes, i could be so far off track, but i'l take a punt. ta

allrite.. now ive heard of growing along the ground by tying up your plants etc, which i plan to do this year because i totally farked up last years grow.. i want to grow a plant along the ground & when its around 8ft long.. i want to bend the main stem in the middle of the plant towards the ground & put a little nick in it & cover it with dirt.. as ive heard it can start to grow roots from there.. the bigger the root system, the bigger the plant can grow because it can uptake more stuff right ? stuff being nutrients & water & whatnot.. so if i was to have a plant with 2 root systems, wouldnt that be twice as good as one ? :scratchin oh, an…
