General Cultivation Q&A

I ordered 6 x 200mm black net pots from Hydro Aqua Pet. They have arrived and have "The Orchid Pot co N.S.W Australia" printed around the edges. They are 200mm wide by 130mm deep, the only problem is the spacing in between the holes seems a little small.. has anyone else tried these pots from Aqua pet before with any success or should I go to my local store and buy 150mm pots with bigger hole spacing? Here is a picture from the Aqua pet website, although it's small please have a look and give me your opinion. I think the holes are too small but you never know.. I just don't see how a large plant could grow roots through those tiny slits. And at the bottom there…

hi all just looking for your opinion as to when to switch from veg to flower nutrients? historically i have switched at the beggining of 12/12. have read that its good to stay on veg formulation for 7 to 14 days. any thoughts? ps as im in scrog, im trying to encouage as much lateral growth as possible in the first 7 days of 12/12 in order to fill out the net as much as possible before applying a PGR at day 7 into 12/12. therefore my thought would be to stay on veg formulation for first 7 days of 12/12 and then switch to bloom at the same time as using the PGR. does this sound logical

hi all ive always just used phosphoric acid as a ph down. tried the canna organic acid. yes it adjusts the ph down but it doesnt keep it down nowhere near as well as phosphoric acid. with the standard phosphoric i would adjust the ph down to 5.3 and not touch it for 3 days until it gets to 6.3. with the canna organic acid i adjust it down to 5.0 and the next day its up to 6.3 to 6.6 crap imo

Hey Guys, Well, it's that time to sex the plants, now out of 7 of the plants only 1 appears to be male. Just want to check with you experienced growers that this it what a male plant looks like, before I send it to plant heaven without a just cause... Cheers!

Well gday all Iv'e just pulled a male Celtic Berry out of my grow room Im planin on collecting the pollin from the Celtic Berry Male and seeding up a bud or 2 of my White Widow:thumbsup: Male Celtic Berry in its full glory.. Male flowers on the Celtic Berry.. And i was wondering how other ppl collect pollin...and how they store it?? Whats your proven way to collect and fert?? Cheers Dallas

sup stoners ive been germinating some seed for abou 4 days now and nowts been happening and i got 2 of em and gave em a little squeeze and all this white gunk came out can any 1 tell me why to germinate i wrapped em up in some wet toilet roll and some bin liner put them on my set top box for warmth cheers stoners

Having big problems with first grown - the girls are in flower - but the 400w hps seems to be drying out the leafs. Will they continue to flower if I pull em out of their cupboard onto the floor - they will not get any direct light but they will be only about 2ft away - is that enough light to keep em going??? Also what will happen if I give them fert with N in it - I gave them a high fert in PK but it stuffed em up .

I have put some Heavy Duty Fruity clones outside a couple of weeks ago .When I had a good look yesterday they alooked like they nwere starting to flower . Has anyone struck this problem before .? Do you think they revert back to VEG as the days warm and grow longer? I was going to use as mothers and not grow indoors at all in the hot summer mths.

orite stoners well heres my prob these plants are 2 weeks 6 days old but look at em there so stretched its unbelievble and its really pissing me off other plants ive grown never stretched like this i dont get it the light (250 watt hps) is like 10 cm away there massive why do you think there stretched so much could it be the strain (northern lights) do they stretch god dam it man when i start buddin em there gonna be massive plz any 1 tell me why they stretch ime desperate heres some pics a 2 liter bottle next to 1 all of em from far ohh yeah could it be because im using the hps 2 grow em plzz help

Hi all, New here- nice to meet you all.. I am a bi product of Seasame Street.. or so the nick suggested - i will jump str8 into the question. (or questions).. feel free to give blunt right wrong. maybe opinions.. Ok.. so lets build a scenario- a Green House in the Dessert. PVC Clear roofing.. say in a part of Rural Australia- Water Crisis regions- but water is available- upto 42-45 degree temps can happen (remmber sydney had that last N.Y's Day) Now my main questions are.. Can there be Too much sunlight that will burn the plants.. or if using moisture control and humidity and implement a form of say temp leveling.. is it possible the intensity of the sun light …
