Biting into the science behind the "marijuana munchies," American researchers have uncovered clues to pot's effect on appetite. Their insights might also lead to drugs that could help increase -- or curb -- wayward appetites. The team of researchers at Columbia University, in New York City, didn't focus on the drug itself, but rather on the body's own version of pot's principal ingredient, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Naturally produced cannabinoid molecules, called endocannabinoids, are drawn to the hypothalamus -- a region of the brain that regulates hunger and other basic functions such as memory, perception and movement. Researchers have long known that once en…

http://www.news.com.au/story/0,10117,17596296-2,00.html PM gets tough on marijuana dangers From: By Tony Vermeer December 18, 2005 THE Federal Government is planning a national anti-marijuana campaign to combat community perceptions that it is a relatively harmless drug. Prime Minister John Howard has criticised health experts for adopting what he says is a "relaxed" attitude to marijuana in comparison with the attack on tobacco. And he has called on states and territories to abandon a decade of decriminalisation and introduce tougher laws to deter marijuana users. "It amazes me that we can be so zealous in dissuading people from smoking - and I used to smoke, I…

I was clearing my chat history after seeing a few conversations that could be potentially dangerous to my liberty (i.e. jail) if discovered in my history. While there are methods to recover chat histories, regular clearing will make it harder for any LEO to get evidence in the case (god forbid) you get busted.... So, here's how to clear histories in MSN and Trillian, if you use another chat client and know how to do this, please post up the information or links to a guide... Trillian Info. NB - Ensure Trillian is not running while performing this action. In Trillian, the default log location is: C:\Program Files\Trillian\users\default\logs Browse to this folder an…

Hey guys I've been busted. I'll let you all know how it goes in this thread, but heres the down low.. Couple days ago 3 young men, one armed with a shotgun, attempted to break into my house, around 2am. I was roused by the sound of the front door window breaking and when i confronted them at the front door, they ran (I was holding a samurai sword and a filthy look). Since i wasnt dressed I didn't purse them past the front of the house, however one of them shot a small caliber shotgun shell at the house (probably a 4/10). This of course attracted the attention of the police.....called by my neighbours, naturally.. The police came, searched the house with my consent (…

Geocities: The Digital Genesis
In the bustling digital streets of the late '90s, Yahoo Geocities stood out as a haven for burgeoning online communities. A Hiatus and the Phoenix's Ascent
Come 2022, OZ Stoners entered a period of unplanned dormancy, lasting a challenging 12 months. But, reminiscent of the legendary phoenix, this hiatus was transformed into an opportunity for rebirth. The platform underwent comprehensive upgrades, server enhancements, and a revitalising overhaul. As it emerged, it did so with a phoenix-like rise, soaring higher and brighter, dedicated to serving the community with even more zeal and purpose.
Ode to the Trailblazers
The tapestry of OZ Stoners is woven with the dedication and vision of its founding members. Their relentless drive and contributions have been the bedrock of its success. While many of these pioneers continue to shape its direction, we pause to honor those trailblazers we've lost over time. Their indomitable spirit continues to inspire and resonate within the cannabis community. - Memorial Hall
