Looks like some little snot in the Federal Government has decided its time make an example of harmless potsmokers again. I realise the Government singles out minority groups to walk all over but this is going to hurt them in the next election. Over half of the population have smoked Cannabis at some point in their lives or still do and we all know the draconian prohibitionist laws originally made to destroy the hemp industry are a croc. What is the point in going after water pipes? For crying out loud I can make one out of an orchy bottle and a few inches of garden hose. Trying to prevent the sale of bongs will only leave us with more money in our pockets to buy pot. Th…

A woman was arrested after she complained to a police officer in Florida about a batch of "bad" crack cocaine she had bought. Eloise Reaves, 50, approached a police officer last Friday in the carpar of a convenience store in the town of Hawthorne. She told him she had been sold poor quality crack and wanted his help getting her money back, police said in a statement. "She then took the crack from out of her mouth and placed it on the trunk of Deputy (Jeffery) Pedrick's patrol car," the police said. The Deputy Pedrick warned Reaves that if the substance tested positive, she would be arrested. After a test came back positive, Reaves said the crack was a poor mix o…

Here's a gem from those dimwits known as the Federal coalition government : Please don't misunderstand I am not defending amphetamines just pointing out stupidity and more ominously being told what we can and can't say yet again. Mmmm, drugs are bad ,m'kay http://www.happyballs.com/Merchant4/imgs/balls/cartoons/small/southpark_antenna_toppers_Mr_Mackey_macky_mmkay_drugs_are_bad.jpg Senator Ellison I'm so sure that banning the term "party drug " will stop them being used and make them disappear ,just like magic I find it disturbing that some people think its ok to repress free speech.I additionally wonder whether he wants the term "fantasy:the date rape …

OK we have the reasons to legalise cannabis thread. Which I hope people will continue to add to. Now what reasons are there NOT to legalise cannabis? This is mainly from the point of view of the straight community, to prepare us for any arguments we may encounter, but there may even be some reasons that stoners don't want cannabis legalised either.

Was anyone able to pick up the latest Independent Weekly - it featured a large, healthy shade leaf and a headline to the effect that Adelaide is the marijuana capital of Australia or some such. I suspect it's a stupid sensationist article designed to pull in the weekend readership (ooh, vice!) but maybe I'm being too hard on the paper - it used to be a fairly bright paper. If anyone could post a scan I'd appreciate it or I'll look for it at the library and post it myself here. If Adelaide is the marijuana capital of Australia why do I never bump into other smokers - it's crazy!

Researchers say smoking pot not always path to hard drugs drug use Tuesday, December 05, 2006 By Anita Srikameswaran, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Contrary to popular belief, smoking marijuana need not be a steppingstone between using alcohol and tobacco and experimenting with illegal drugs such as cocaine and heroin. Researchers led by Ralph E. Tarter, a professor at the University of Pittsburgh's School of Pharmacy, found that nearly a quarter of the young men they studied used marijuana before they began drinking or smoking cigarettes. It's the reverse of what's known as the "gateway hypothesis," in which drug use is thought to progress from alcohol and tobacco to m…

Tough drug laws hidden away DESPITE Premier Mike Rann's tough talk to stamp out "evil" drug lords who use children as traffickers, his Government has failed to commence new laws targeting drug dealing activities. The laws were passed exactly one-year ago, creating more severe penalties for drug dealers but the Government has stopped them from becoming operational. Drug dealers who sell, supply or administer drugs to children should be facing maximum penalties of life imprisonment and, or, a $1 million fine. But the State Government, which promised to commence the law this year, has stalled its introduction while bureaucratic red-tape holds up other tough new drug la…

Geocities: The Digital Genesis
In the bustling digital streets of the late '90s, Yahoo Geocities stood out as a haven for burgeoning online communities. It was here, amidst this digital renaissance, that OZ Stoners planted its foundational roots. This marked the dawn of a space that would go on to become synonymous with Australian cannabis culture.
Navigating the Digital Tempests
On its journey, OZ Stoners faced formidable challenges. Between Yahoo's unpredictability and the unexpected anti-cannabis stance of titans like Meta, steering the ship required a blend of adaptability, tenacity, and foresight.
A Hiatus and the Phoenix's Ascent
Come 2022, OZ Stoners entered a period of unplanned dormancy, lasting a challenging 12 months. But, reminiscent of the legendary phoenix, this hiatus was transformed into an opportunity for rebirth. The platform underwent comprehensive upgrades, server enhancements, and a revitalising overhaul. As it emerged, it did so with a phoenix-like rise, soaring higher and brighter, dedicated to serving the community with even more zeal and purpose.
Ode to the Trailblazers
The tapestry of OZ Stoners is woven with the dedication and vision of its founding members. Their relentless drive and contributions have been the bedrock of its success. While many of these pioneers continue to shape its direction, we pause to honor those trailblazers we've lost over time. Their indomitable spirit continues to inspire and resonate within the cannabis community. - Memorial Hall
