HHOHHO, 30 October (IRIN) - A fundamental shift in Swaziland's attitude towards the cannabis plant, or hemp, the country's most lucrative cash crop, could be on the horizon. The government is set to allow small-scale production of hemp to see if it has the potential to become an economically viable crop. "In hemp we have an alternative to cotton, which has let us down badly over the last few years. It has been because of marijuana that we have found it difficult to talk about hemp, but that is changing, and we are beginning to shape public opinion to its benefits," said Lufto Dlamini, the Swazi Minister for Enterprise and Employment. "The government is considering a p…

Marijuana link to stabbing murders by Dr Right Monday July 10, 2006 at 09:09 AM HOMICIDE squad detectives are investigating whether a mix of marijuana and mental illness was a factor in four murders in the past month Two young men and a couple who left behind a young child were the victims of fatal stabbings in the space of nine days. It is suspected psychosis brought on by marijuana may have been a factor. Drug counsellors have warned super-potent, genetically modified dope grown in suburban houses is severely affecting some users. There are strong concerns among senior police at the links between cannabis-induced psychosis and killings and other violent c…

The Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority has fined and reprimanded two players for testing positive to cannabis during the last National Basketball League season. Melbourne Tigers forward Rashad Tucker and former Perth player David Bailey tested positive to the banned drug during in-competition testing, and were fined $5,000 each. Bailey is no longer registered in the NBL after being released from his contract with the Wildcats at the end of last season. Basketball Australia said it supported the action taken against both players. October 24, 2006 12:15pm TWO former police officers staged a fake drug bust during a $120,000 speed deal so that they could on-sell the drugs, a Sydney court was told today. A witness known only as APW2 said former NSW police officer Samuel John Foster had asked him to organise the purchase of 1kg from a dealer in Enfield in southwest Sydney in September 2002. Mr Foster, 41, and former Victorian police officer James Anthony McCabe would stage a drug bust during the deal and the men would split the drugs among themselves, APW2 told Downing Centre Local Court today. "He (Mr Foster) said he would make it look like a drugs bust and I would be arrested," he said. "He…

Quite funny I think. It's a shame one of the little 14 year old snitches decided to dob him in to the principal. Kids these days, I don't know. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Teacher dealt drugs in front of class August 10, 2006 12:00am Article from: The Daily Telegraph WHILE most teachers give out homework during class, a New South Wales casual teacher John Fitzgerald Kennedy dished out marijuana to students instead. During his Year 9 maths class at Sydney's Epping Boys High School earlier this year, he let slip to the 12 students he liked to drink and smoke marijuana on weekends. This opened the door for a 14-year-old…

Some how or other I managed to get the Telegraph to approve and publish in the readers opinion section not a blog but editorial comment and readers responses,so I assume that theres a strong possibility that a user of some kind of illicit drugs was working in editorial over the weekend and decided to publish, very much to my surprise as no other letter like this has been published out of many attempts,I have had plenty of extremely controversial blog comments published on various Oz MSM however this surprised me,it will certainly be worth a lot of hits of the next few days on DTS. link to letter Go figure ????

I just read and answered the poll on using pot and tobacco together. Now it really hits me....You guys mean together in the same joint! I mean I realise that those of us on the west coast of Canada are spoiled with our abundance of the green. But what the hell are you people thinking?I mean yuck! You go through all the effort of producing a fine fragrant tasty herb, and mix it with tobacco?Oh well maybe I'm just some kind of freakin conniseur.I don't know anyone here who does that.....to each there own.Heck we don't even mix hash with tobacco,we use weed!

180,000km..one Winnebago ..... NSW Government will try to scare drug-using drivers off the roads with the use of a single, unmarked Winnebago motor home. The State's only roadside drug-testing bus will be responsible for policing 4.5 million licence holders in NSW and its patrol area will cover 180,000km of road. As well as a drug-testing lab, the $350,000 Winnebago has CCTV, kitchen and bathroom facilities and a flat-screen TV. It is unmarked because police are hoping to blend in with van-loving "grey nomads'' to catch drivers by surprise when the bus hits the road for the Christmas holidays. Offenders will face fines of up to $2200, prison sentences of up to n…

Men and women suspected of possessing drugs were questioned and then made to stand with their hands against walls and legs apart while they were searched. In April, a similar raid on four Vall…

November 04, 2006 09:52am Article from: AAP ELECTRICAL wiring to power hydroponics for a marijuana crop is being blamed for a house fire in Melbourne. More than 100 marijuana plants were found in the roof of a rented Riddle St house at West Meadows when fire fighters attended the blaze about 2.45am (AEDT) today. Metropolitan Fire Brigade officers wearing breathing apparatus took less than an hour to put out the fire but remained at the property while police set up a crime scene. Gas and electricity suppliers were called. "The thought is that the amount of power being used and the way it was being used may have caused the fire," an MFB spokesman said. Sgt Glenn…

Geocities: The Digital Genesis
In the bustling digital streets of the late '90s, Yahoo Geocities stood out as a haven for burgeoning online communities. It was here, amidst this digital renaissance, that OZ Stoners planted its foundational roots. This marked the dawn of a space that would go on to become synonymous with Australian cannabis culture.
Navigating the Digital Tempests
On its journey, OZ Stoners faced formidable challenges. Between Yahoo's unpredictability and the unexpected anti-cannabis stance of titans like Meta, steering the ship required a blend of adaptability, tenacity, and foresight.
A Hiatus and the Phoenix's Ascent
Come 2022, OZ Stoners entered a period of unplanned dormancy, lasting a challenging 12 months. But, reminiscent of the legendary phoenix, this hiatus was transformed into an opportunity for rebirth. The platform underwent comprehensive upgrades, server enhancements, and a revitalising overhaul. As it emerged, it did so with a phoenix-like rise, soaring higher and brighter, dedicated to serving the community with even more zeal and purpose.
Ode to the Trailblazers
The tapestry of OZ Stoners is woven with the dedication and vision of its founding members. Their relentless drive and contributions have been the bedrock of its success. While many of these pioneers continue to shape its direction, we pause to honor those trailblazers we've lost over time. Their indomitable spirit continues to inspire and resonate within the cannabis community. - Memorial Hall
