2007 national labor platform and constitution http://www.alp.org.au/download/2007_national_platform.pdf Chapter 12 is the one that we would be interested in, which can be found on this page http://www.alp.org.au/platform/chapter_12.php Here are my thoughts on a few of them. <1> Labor believes that a fundamental objective of government is to work with the community to provide greater security for all Australians and their families. To achieve this, the objectives of the criminal law should be to: * prevent crime; * protect the personal safety and property of all Australians; ---------- OK, decriminalize drugs and regulate them and give proper supp…

here is what the UN has to say about marijuana: in short that reads if you want cannabis to be legally grown in your country, you have to treat it like opium unless you are growing hemp in which case you can grow as much as you want. but point number 3 blows all that out of the water because it says you have to adopt measures that will decrease the mis-use and illegal traffic in the leaves of the cannabis plant. now why leaf is so special i'll never know, but as point 1 says you have to treat cannabis exactly the same as opium so here is what the UN has to say about growing opium: so if a nation were to make it possible to legally grow your own, it would be requ…

Word of the Week We first heard about jenkem in 1999, when the BBC News reported on the growing fad amongst Zambian street children, which has quickly spread throughout Sub-Saharan Africa. Nobody cared — until some white, middle class, all-American claimed to have tried it. So what is jenkem? It’s human feces. Poop. Shit. Turds. SEWAGE! A bunch of African children have discovered they can get one helluva buzz by collecting raw sewage in plastic bottles, letting it fester in the sun, and inhaling the fumes. Jenkem (also jekem) is a narcotic recreational drug composed of noxious gas formed from fermented human sewage!!! The effects of Jenkem inhalation last for …

Friday, November 23, 2007 Harper's misguided war on pot Editorial The National Post We are glad to see the Conservative government using the excess lifespan donated by Her Majesty's Opposition to get tough on crime. But was it really necessary to include victimless acts among the list of crimes being targeted? Justice Minister Rob Nicholson's new package of mandatory sentences for marijuana dealers, announced on Tuesday, seems to involve some perverse incentives. Under the bill, a grower who is caught with between one and 200 plants and is found to have the intention of trafficking will receive a non-negotiable minimum of six months in prison, unless he can show t…

NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - A study suggests that smoking a moderate amount of cannabis (marijuana) may relieve pain but smoking high doses may increase pain. "This is the first study using a dose-response method that suggests smoked cannabis has a therapeutic window with moderate doses decreasing pain and high doses increasing pain." In a group of healthy volunteers, Wallace and colleagues studied the effect of low, medium and high doses of smoked cannabis or placebo on pain…

Geocities: The Digital Genesis
In the bustling digital streets of the late '90s, Yahoo Geocities stood out as a haven for burgeoning online communities. It was here, amidst this digital renaissance, that OZ Stoners planted its foundational roots. This marked the dawn of a space that would go on to become synonymous with Australian cannabis culture.
Navigating the Digital Tempests
On its journey, OZ Stoners faced formidable challenges. Between Yahoo's unpredictability and the unexpected anti-cannabis stance of titans like Meta, steering the ship required a blend of adaptability, tenacity, and foresight.
A Hiatus and the Phoenix's Ascent
Come 2022, OZ Stoners entered a period of unplanned dormancy, lasting a challenging 12 months. But, reminiscent of the legendary phoenix, this hiatus was transformed into an opportunity for rebirth. The platform underwent comprehensive upgrades, server enhancements, and a revitalising overhaul. As it emerged, it did so with a phoenix-like rise, soaring higher and brighter, dedicated to serving the community with even more zeal and purpose.
Ode to the Trailblazers
The tapestry of OZ Stoners is woven with the dedication and vision of its founding members. Their relentless drive and contributions have been the bedrock of its success. While many of these pioneers continue to shape its direction, we pause to honor those trailblazers we've lost over time. Their indomitable spirit continues to inspire and resonate within the cannabis community. - Memorial Hall
