I picked up this little gem by pure accident at the local library. I was wandering past the "drugs" section and noticed a bright white book with bold red lettering on the side. It grabbed my attention again when I pulled it out and a lovely little joint was the only picture on the cover. Was it just a book about pot? On Being Stoned - A Psychological Study of Marijuana Intoxication by Charles T. Tart, Ph. D. Has anyone read this book? What did you think? I'm very interested in reading it, but looks like I would have to import it from the US, and don't really have the money either way. It can be read online at The Drug Library or The Lycaeum, but it's too hard to sit and read from the monitor, and I would like this on my bookshelf. Anyone know where it can be attained in Australia, or any pre-loved copies floating around? It would seem Charles T. Tart has written many interesting works... the man according to Wikipedia and his .edu website.

Just finished reading this book. It's a view of the international cannabis scene with a bias towards Britain (author's homeland). Good introduction to the history, usage and current scene of our fave herb. No pics but an fairly easy read. Author has written about wine culture and draws many parallels - wine often comes off second best. Anyhoo, borrowed this from the Adelaide city library for any locals. Book it online at ACC library website. Also borrowed and read this Dopeland (Ozstoners review) but found it a lot of so-so gonzo claptrap save for a few good pages about weed in SA.

Hi, I'm just about to release a book on various aspects of the cannabis high, things like avoiding green outs and weed paranoia, and lowering tolerance; but it's also about things that you can do to increase the depth of the high too, and how to actually explore it. Are there any readers here (with an interest in entheogens would help) who would be interested in reviewing it? MelT

Folks the CATALYST program on ABC tomorrow night (thursday nt 30th) is doing a segment about whether or not smoking weed can cause psychosis and they say this research has/will finally put an end to the speculation... I suspect they will just tell us what they have infact said before on previous Catalyst shows when they have done a segment on Cannabis use and that is, heavy use long term isn't good. I can't get enough of science shows myself but should be interesting anyhow for those that do or do not want to know heh heh

Did anyone see the piece about the Underbelly II actor (forgot his name) about his son suiciding after smoking marijuana and it being the cause of his schizophrenia. It was typical A Current Affair; tabloid and sensationalized, but it was still an interesting piece.
