read this about 30 years ago , by Ken keseyi think . another beauty is Ringolevio by (again i'm guessing) Emmet Grogan (not as in poo type grogan) . set around haight ashsbury. supposedly the word hip came from a group calling itself the haight ashbury independant. probably not right on any count but it was a long time ago . good insights into hippy days & lsd culture way back then .bit of music history too .

Excellent hardcover book, even has joint-rolling pictures to help you out on the inside of the cover This book covers the complete story of Cannabis, everything from what it is, it's ancient history and it's different use, Legislation and control, an A-Z of medical uses, horticulture, fun cooking recipes, even how to make a bong! . It also explains the different churches and religions that use cannabis. It's really a must have, great book. Available from OzStoners I'll post some pics when I can sort my cam out!

I picked up this little gem by pure accident at the local library. I was wandering past the "drugs" section and noticed a bright white book with bold red lettering on the side. It grabbed my attention again when I pulled it out and a lovely little joint was the only picture on the cover. Was it just a book about pot? No, although the criminalisation of pot and the effects of this plays a part in the whole of his discussions, and he does it well. The basic premise of the book is the rational dismatlement of the idea that some drugs have the power to enslave you, and the notion of "hard" and "soft" drugs is given a good going over. It provides some remarkable insights i…

On Being Stoned - A Psychological Study of Marijuana Intoxication by Charles T. Tart, Ph. D. Has anyone read this book? What did you think? I'm very interested in reading it, but looks like I would have to import it from the US, and don't really have the money either way. It can be read online at The Drug Library or The Lycaeum, but it's too hard to sit and read from the monitor, and I would like this on my bookshelf. Anyone know where it can be attained in Australia, or any pre-loved copies floating around? It would seem Charles T. Tart has written many interesting works... the man according to Wikipedia and his .edu website.

Just finished reading this book. It's a view of the international cannabis scene with a bias towards Britain (author's homeland). Good introduction to the history, usage and current scene of our fave herb. No pics but an fairly easy read. Author has written about wine culture and draws many parallels - wine often comes off second best. Anyhoo, borrowed this from the Adelaide city library for any locals. Book it online at ACC library website. Also borrowed and read this Dopeland (Ozstoners review) but found it a lot of so-so gonzo claptrap save for a few good pages about weed in SA.

Hey Everyone, I bought myself a copy of this book recently and I'm curious as to what others think about it. I read a lot of comments on the net saying that it is pretty much the definitive guide to growing but I was personally a little disappointed. I would be interested to find out what others think. Thanks. Kind Regards Dal

I'm too busy preparing history of drug use in Oz ... I forget where I found it ... sorry ... It's really not a hard read ... but if its too big then I'm sure I will be told ... --- HISTORY OF DRUG USE AND DRUG USERS IN THE UNITED STATES by Elaine Casey From Facts About Drug Abuse - Participant Manual - The National Drug Abuse Center for Training Resource and Development 656 Quince Orchard Road Room 607 Gaithersburg, Maryland, 20760 Publication No. 79-FADA-041P Printed: November, 1978 American opinion h…

http://www.cheatingthehangman.com.au/home_book.html Wade starts off singing the praises of living on drugs, and then as if in an effort to prove himself wrong relays the details of his life as a heroin junkie. He claims it was the best of times and the very best of times. Good luck to him. Thats the last way I want to end up. To me it seemed more like a nightmare than a dream. And I'm not talking about the trafficking risks, I'm talking about being a slave to a drug. Its an OK read.

Hi, I'm just about to release a book on various aspects of the cannabis high, things like avoiding green outs and weed paranoia, and lowering tolerance; but it's also about things that you can do to increase the depth of the high too, and how to actually explore it. Are there any readers here (with an interest in entheogens would help) who would be interested in reviewing it? MelT
