is it correct that U only water the plants during the day? u turn the water off at night? (in a dwc setup) what about air? common sence tells me that the air pumps have to be on 24/7 and and and...one more. in my dwc setup, the water is flowing all the time. is this enough water or do i have to put drippers on the tops of the pots too? if ya reckon it's easier to icq me or msn me back, plz do so. msn instincta@hotmail.com ICQ 27474459 THX

Just wondering if anyone has had experience with these or any other NFT systems? I conducted a search here, but could find nothing about Turbotanks. The NFT 424 etc, are basically the same thing and have received great reviews on www.overgrow and similar boards. The home is www.turbotank.com.au/intro.htm I think I'll grab four 1.1m tanks with a 600w over each. (As you can see, I'm still deciding which system to use )

I've was checking out my mates's recirculating system, which uses clyballs in orchid/net pots sitting in tubs, which in turn drain back to his tank. He was talking about the airstones he's put in these tubs and how they're supposed to help more oxygen get to the roots, when it struck me : why not pump oxygen directly into the tubs? Oxygen is heavier than air (specific gravity of 1.15 or thereabouts IIRC), which means the you could work out the volume of the tubs and inject a measured dose of pure oxygen into them at fixed intervals, which would displace the air iand increase the oxygen available to the roots by a factor of 4 or so. Have I discovered the secret to a mas…

My set up is very simple, I know nothing about what I'm doing so i'm just guessing as a i go. Set up consists of, 4 letre bucket (res) i have the water pump in the bucket pushing water out the hose. then water pipe then goes into a 8" piece of PVC about 1 metre long. ( i think this is a DWC setup?) then i've put cuts in the pipe where my pots are. the problem is that there no water pumping out the output pipe back to the bucket.... Do i need another pump on the output end? Or is the pump just not powerfull enough? thanks

I recently had some clones sent to me that were rooted in Rockwool, it seemed to keep its shape better than grow wool and didnt stay water logged. I've just started to play around with growing from seed and I'm, trying to get a good foolproof method going. I like to see whats going on each day so I dont use soil and so far I'm not real impressed with the grow wool blocks that I,m using now......when I squeeze the excess water from them, they stay squashed and look like they could suffocate the newly emerged seedlings roots. Any one else use grow wool ?.....any tips ?

I have several healthy plants just placed into flowering (today) as they are quite short they contain considerable foliage: about 65 * 50 centimetres. As I have read that pruning should be done at this stage (before flowering) I was wondering which and how much leaves to prune? I have asked a friend who told me not to touch the plant, to let nature alone, but have read that pruning does improve yield. All comments and ideas ars welcome. Also I have been pulling a plant over to increase it’s exposure to the HiD which has placed a branch directly into the shade of the main stem. The branch has not shown any signs of discomfort even though it’s growth has slowed. Should I…

Hello everybody, I've just set up a recycling system using a pond pump to pump nutrients through polytubing with drippers. As this is not on a timer it will be on all the time, will this mean that the roots may get flooded or will it be alright as the water will drain through? All advice much appreciated Cheers Holyreality

Hey, i'm just wondering if airsponges will help me with and odour problem, i'll have a modular ScrOG, some clones and a seperate veg room, all maybe attached to eachother, but i'm wondering if i got a good few airsponges(put them in front of the exaust fan, right?), would it get rid of the odour? or should i just build a carbon air scrubber, or both? i'm gonna start in a few weeks and have most my supllies, but need odour deletion before i start just to not be paranoid... thanks a bunch crazychicken p.s. i know it's off topic again, but what are airstones? i looked on overgrow.com and a few other sites, but no ones fully explained it to me thanks for the help

Anyone ever seen this before? I have seen similar, but on a larger scale. This size seems more realistic. This is directly from The Pollinator Company website. I am cautious of cutting and pasting, so I have edited it a little: "The Pollinator Company is proud to be the European distributor of "THE CAGE". It is the newest and most innovative product on the market. By using the Cylindrical Growing Technique, you are maximizing your growing area. THE CAGE takes up only 120 cm squared of floor space; thus utilizing the vertical space that has previously been saved for plant height compensation. You can expect the same yields as two traditional flat 1.25 m x 2.75 m garden…

Leaves curling up?

I have six plants under a 400hps lamp.. They are growing in soil. I have just switched over to 12/12 cyle. For the past week or so the leaves have started to curl up. They are not drying out and they are still nice and green. This is happening more on some plants than others... I have been told this can be from overfertilising them so I have just been feeding them plain water ph 6.5. Just wondreing if anyone else can help with what may be causing this.. Thanx GrowMad
