Water Pump is not returning water

Recommended Posts

My set up is very simple, I know nothing about what I'm doing so i'm just guessing as a i go.

Set up consists of,

4 letre bucket (res) i have the water pump in the bucket pushing water out the hose.

then water pipe then goes into a 8" piece of PVC about 1 metre long. ( i think this is a DWC setup?) then i've put cuts in the pipe where my pots are.

the problem is that there no water pumping out the output pipe back to the bucket....

Do i need another pump on the output end?

Or is the pump just not powerfull enough?

thanks

Any chance of some pictures of this system? If the nutrients are going into the 8" pipe but not coming out of the other end then either the pipe is blocked or the media is soaking it all up.

A four litre reservoir is too small, 50 litres would be more appropriate on a recirculating system.

Yes, Tom has a point.... a four litre res? Is that a misprint? If not you should have a bigger one, at least 35 litre. THe other question - is your res below the pvc pipe? Does your drain tube go just into the top of the res or all the way to the bottom? It sould only go just into the top of the res. If it goes deeper you can in some situations get an airlock that prevents your main chamber from draining.

Happy unblocking
