I had a tripped 32 amp circuit breaker this morning and did the numbers on my draw ,,,,,, going through the Ablite figures they list Line start current and Line run current as well as Lamp start and Lamp run ,,,, are these added together ? to get your total draw , if so a 400 watt sodium would draw 7.30 amps at startup and 6.19 amps running ,,,,,, which means Im running 8 x 400 = 49 amps and 58 amps at startup ,, bit scary ! ,,, its been sailing along no problems on the 32 amp breaker untill this morning ,,,, just abit confused on how they work thier numbers concerning line and lamp . Hey people im from Australia and have been told that u dont need a ballast for a 70W hps bulb. I have got a 100W Hps bulb that has 100W 240V-250V. When i got it, it came with a bulb holder and 3 wires coming from the bulb holder (i have got a socket for it). I havent tried anything yet as i dont want to blow the bulb by just plugging it in and turning it on to find that it blows the bulb. As Australia has 240V do i need a ballast for this or not ?

I am planning to start an indoor grow the end of the month. I have been checking out LED lighting. I am hoping to use them for the mother/clones. Has anyone had any success using these kind of lights? Seems the price might have caught up with the technology.

I'm trying to decide on a new 600 watt ballast. Either a Pulsar 2.0 which is magnetic. Or an electric lumatek. Does anyone prefer the newer electric/digital ones to the magnetics? Theres about a $55 dollar difference in getting the Lumatek. Should i go electric or magnetic??

Hello. I read somewhere of someone using the same ballast to run two flowering rooms. Apparently one light is on and then it gets tripped after the 12 hours and it turns off and the other light turns on, in the other room. This would mean the ballast is always running and the lights wouldn't have to heat up and take so long to brighten up. So has anybody here done this? I would like to know how to do it, if it is easily done. Apparently you need a relay switch and a separate timer, or something along those lines. Or would it be better to get an electrician to do it? It obviously has many advantages, if it can be done easily. So if anyone has done it, can they ple…

Hey guys i am thinking about how i am going to start my first grow. At first i was going to go with outside growing but after reading these forums i have decided indoors I have this storeroom that i would like to turn into my grow room. It has no windows/ventilation. I was thinking i could cut out a hole in the bottom of the door and mount a fan for air intake I was thinking would it be ok if i put the exhaust into the roof? does it need an In and out or would just an In be fine? The storeroom has a small hole in the roof that i thought would be good for venting into the roof if an out was needed? anyone know any problems this could cause? untitled.bmp

Hi people, Can anyone tell me if it possible to be prescribed marijuana in australia? I have been in several accidents where I have recieved multiple injuries. I suffer from chronic arthritus in my hips and chest and have problems with my back too. I smoke pot to relieve pain in conjunction with pain killers, but always worry about getting caught. I no it is used for cancer and have even heard of some trial but can anyone tell me if it is possible? I live in qld.

the other night there was a pretty big storm on in my area and i turned off all my grow gear just incase there was a black out or anything. yesterday morning i went into my flowering room to reset the timer and noticed that the extension cord wasnt fitting in properly so i took it out and noticed that the timer had a burn mark and the extension cord also looked a little fried on one of the prongs. because of that damage i replaced both the timer and the extension cord, but for some reason after around 2 hours of being on my lights act like they have gone through a sudden black out, eg. they try and fire back up but sit there glowing and making a weird humming noise t…

i have 3 of these , but 1 i have just noticed the screen has gone dead , i cant seem to find the pissy little instructions that came with the unit , i have just pulled it apart to see if there was a battery inside , but it seems to be soldered to the board . Has any one else had one of these units die on them while in storage , at a guess its probably 2 years old max , but only probably used for 6 months in that time , probably been stored for the last 6 months as a back up. Has any one successfully resurrected one of these ? i have just plugged it in hoping it might trickle charge the battery , to get the screen back up

I've read all of the posts, some being a year old and some of you had just bought them. Can you report anything on them as I was thinking of going to one soon instead of big bulky cannister type. Like to hear all of your feedback aussie1
