After last years losses to heat, I splurged on an air con for the girls. I got a portable unit from Aldi for $300. It’s got a vent ducting to a window frame thingy. The light shone through but a can of black spray paint on the ducting fixed that. I only put it on for the very hottest of days and at max temp which is 31C. But there was an unexpected bonus. When on fan mode, it exhausts! The fan mode will drop the temp by 2C, but it’s the exhaust thing that’s got me excited. Now I don’t have to run a separate exhaust fan and the energy consumption for the air con is on par with the exhaust fan. I’ve only had to use it as an air con a few times, but is now running 24/7 in f…

But what about putting this lill sucker in your grow room or multiple grow rooms , all wifi'd to a phone app that you can set high temp alarms look at history over time & & & will also room measure CO2 , https://youtu.be/ACNF-J85ouU downside a lill pricey at under $300 for 2 rooms & another $150 for any additional room http://www.harveynorman.com.au/netatmo-personal-weather-station.html haven't seen how accurate or what the +/- spe…

Hi all! I'm choosing an exhaust fan for my grow space. Have decided on a fan with integrated speed controller and thermostat, as I don't like having to constantly check my grow and play with fan speeds to get the right temp. So I'm looking at Blauberg fans which seem ideal for my needs. They are not cheap, but I'm willing to spend some cash to reduce my workload in the grow. Blauberg have a "Centro G" series, which are Centrifugal fans. There is also the "Turbo G" series which are Mixed Flow fans. The Centro G series are a little cheaper than the Turbo G. I received a meizhi 600 today and while i was testing it i found that there are only 3 different colors of led's in it. All the blues are the same blue and so on with the reds and whites. I also have a viparspectra 450 but the red's and blues run in 11 different bands/NM of reds, blues and whites. Will the difference in spectrum make much of an impact? Let's say I had 600's of both brands, would I see much, if any difference? Should I be regretting getting the meizhi instead of a vipar, or am I worrying about nothing? Thanks for any help.

Hi guys I am new to indoor growing and will be kicking off when my new 1.2x1.2x2 tent arrives next week. I will be running a 600w hps(i recently bought 3 of em,600w hps lamps with reflectors and heat shield for 60 bucks off the local high school) with 8 inch extraction fan. My question is, Does anyone know anything about this Infra Red lining in grow rooms?,i am guessing its about chopper detection?, i live in a heavily worked by flying pigs, but i dont think they use IR< they more hang out of the chopper at roof level doing grid work over everyones properties out here. Sounds more like a marketing gimmick to me....?

Hi Guys and Girls, I'm new to the indoor scene and have been researching madly about how to start myself off on my first indoor grow having only a few outdoor runs under my belt. I am excited and also overwhelmed with the options out there compared to growing outdoors. Now the background info and my constraints; I intend on using a small walk in wardrobe as the space with a tent setup insideThe space available roughly 0.9m x 0.7m x 1.75m without removing shelving Ventilation may be very hard as its not near windows or roof cavity to run ducting it will pretty much flow out into a 3m x 3m roomMy consumption is quite low and its personal use id say 2-3oz should be plenty fo…

METHOD 1: THE EASY WAY Let’s use a common build for this tutorial: 4x 36 volt COBs on a Mean Well HLG-185H-C1400. This setup works out to be about 50 watts per COB, 200W total. Everything but the driver in this tutorial was provided to me by the good people at Horticulture Lighting Group so a special thanks to them for helping out the DIY community and be sure to check out their kick-ass Quantum Boards! Components My parts list for this build is as follows: 4x Citizen CLU048-1212 Gen. 6 COBs 4x IDEAL 50-2204-CT COB Holders 4x 120mm Pin-Fin Heat Sinks (these are good for up to 60 watts – if you drive your COBs harder, you’ll need bigger heat sinks) 8x M3 Screws…

Hi guys, what do you suggest for screening intake air if bringing in air from external wall type vent set up? I’m wondering if some screen mesh would be suitable, or should I be lookin at a filter type set up that’s gona reduce risk of mould and mildew? Room is insulated and inside a garage. Gets pretty cold / wet with the odd frost through winter here though. Was thinking I could make a filter box with a filter medium - maybe even something washable like this medium? https://www.airconfilters.com.au/products/bulk-purchases?variant=14488651335 Otherwise anyone using something like the EcoPlus bug screen from Hydroexperts? Horti Control dus…
