Ventilation: Air in and Air out question.

hey stoners and people alike,

 

iv recently setup a grow around 5x7x3m high and im just wondering where am i best to position my inlet and outlet fans?

I`m thinking i`m best to have a fan blowing fresh air in from 1 side of my room and extracting air from the opposite side of my room? would this be the best way to go?

yep that's the go. inlet at floor, outlet at ceiling pulling air through the cupboard

thanx, in my case its pulling air from 1 room to another a big room in fact! 5x7Metres might be bigger, haha just setting up a grow with a 4 pot wilma setup...

I use to grow in a full bedroom and i placed the fan opposite the door and noticed once i cut the hole in the wall the air was being drawn under the door strait across the floor and up the wall than thru the fan i found it to be very inefficient in summer, if your in a room try focusing on moving a lot of air at a slower speed, more volume at a lower pressure as higher pressure will travel the path with less resistance

Hey guys, have a question along the same sorta lines - for a 3x2m room with CMH lighting, with a 200mm max-fan pro exhaust - am I going to need an intake fan also, or you think passive will be sufficient?

Passive is sufficient. Though I'd probably go a 300mm for extraction with a speed controller. It seems to pay to have above average ventilation, seems to eliminate a few problems that may arise.

Also, I usually have flyscreen on my intakes for obvious reasons, and if you have dusty conditions in your area those screens can block up quite a lot and restrict the flow noticeably. Usually cleaned the screens every 10-14 days. Use to run the fan 24/7.
