This morning I threw in a bowl: black pepper , 2 kinds of hot sauce, curry powder and some biodegradable dishwashing liquid. I poured boiling water over the ingredients whisked for a while, let cool and filtered through a tea towel , I then poured the concoction into a spray bottle and added a little extra water then I sprayed all the plants in the hps closet tops and bottoms of leaves and all the thrips I could see the detergent worked well helping it stick to the leaves a little, so far 0% visible damage to plants and I havnt seen a thrip on them since the thrips I directly sprayed are dead. Ill let ya's know how it goes plant wise. Ingredients. Sprayed auto gir…

OK, so I'm doing a one plant SCROG 4 x 600w HPS So today was a growth management day, pushing all the growth under my SCROG net, ( HINT: NEVER weave the growth thru the netting, it makes it a bastard come harvest) It looks really shitty at the moment but by next week all that growth will have turned towards the light and again stretched up growing towards the light. The other day I went into the room and saw a few white fly so I put up sticky strips to catch the little bastards. I hadn't actually been in the room since. Today I again entered the room and was meet with a cloud of white flies, they had multiplied........ohhh shit bugger damn. There was at least 100 o…

Hi guys, Could anybody please shed some light on if Tomato Dust is safe for the cannabis plant? And/or if it is effective enough against pests such as white flies?

Common knowledge, I had a major gnat problem recently. Weapon of choice was Neem oil, but a recent ad in maximum yield USA, caught my attention. There's a new? product on the market for gnat control, made from recycled glass. Looks kind of like the super soil aerator I purchased about three weeks ago, which is also made from recycled glass. So I top covered all pots with the aerator, major gnat problem no more! Still a couple buzzing around, but it appears that the numbers have diminished rapidly since top coating, so I'm giving it a thumbs up on this occasion. Costs around $45 for a bag, but in comparison to the neem, and quantities required for flushing effeciently, i…

Just a thought I had today while driving down south and remembered when I was young would do the same thing with my old boy, when driving through the wineries I noticed before and after each row of grapes was a rose bush. The reason behind this is any pest or diseases will attack the rose bush first giving the grower enough time to treat his grapes accordingly. Why not apply the same principle to growing in a decent size room cause to me really no point if you have a couple plants easier to check them thoroughly yourself, but if you have a nice size grow room why not chuck couple extra roses in each corner. Maybe roses won't work but sure there is another plant that cou…

Spider Mites? 1 2

Some of the leaves on the lower half of this plant have gone pale with white spots. I took a photo of the most severe area and noticed little red things on there, are these spider mites? and would they be the cause of the pale/spotty leaves or would it be coupled with some kind of nutrient deficiency? Thanks

Been feeding the girls a diet of Alfalfa Tea (literally just water that has had alfalfa seeds soaking in it for a few weeks) and a little bit of Seasol to fix up what looked like a bit of a N deficiency, but recently just saw that the leaves seemed a bit strange, on closer inspection I think its catepillars/larvae ? Anyone recommend a good way to get rid of them? And, what to use ?!! I dont want to leave the girls soaked in chemical pesticide or something, especially this close to being done flowering Few different photos of the two plants that seem to have it the worst. And just the other day I squashed a small Caterpillar off one of my smallest/recent plants, and t…

Hey all, Anyone used these before? Looking to invest in some insect predators to clean out some aphids. Last year I tried lady bugs and predator mites which pretty much died within a few weeks.
