Anyone used Green Lacewings for bio control?

Recommended Posts

Late:

Lace wings(Chrysopidae) along with Lady Bugs(Coccinellidae), are great defense tools but very poor assault weapons, have these in you crop, as a general defense rather than expecting them to kill all bugs that may feed on your crop, don't forget have them in your grow space may well attract there predators, if you can catch them at all, it usually means they have full stomachs and are awaiting digestion ...or it's just a cold day.

Aphids(Aphidoidea)

Much new and interesting info has come to light, recently on the behavior of aphids and ants, and how ants actually "farm" aphids for there sugar sap(no shit) over 4,200 species in 8 families are known to exist, and recently was discovered that the most popular aphid in Australia, the lettuce aphid( Nasonovia ribisnigra) came from New Zealand, was blown to Tasmania, then up to Victoria and NSW. Pissing of a lot of farmers and growers

The females are viviparous, meaning they give birth like mammals do ....like no eggs, so don't look for them, the biggest are usually female about 3.5mm long at pregnant, the males 2.5mm long at maturity

By far the best control is Neem Oil, but not to close to harvest

Hey mate is this inside or out? Outside just get some predator mites and release them.

Indoors it will be hard to sustain the predator's diet and keep them alive, I say probably because i dont have personal experience. but it would probably be easier and more effective to spray indoors granted the plants aren't heading.
