Hey all, Well got a fresh batch of seeds, going for another attempt. Now others mentioned to use distilled water to soak the rockwool cubes or paper towel etc, instead of normal water. At the supermarket they gave me demineralised and said it was the same thing. Is this correct? Would I be right to use this? Also What germination technique should I go for this time? I was thinking id try soaking some rockwool cubes and placing the seed about 1cm down, placing in a dark area and make sure the cube stays moist. If that didnt work Id go for direct sow, and finally the paper towel method But yeh my real question is about the water. Cheers!

I'm afraid that I know the answer to this question but I'm not sure... Are these growing wrong?? I mean they are growing very tall, very fast, but are skinny, skimpy, and very thin and delicate. When should I start the lights on plants and how much. I'm really only wanting to do 2 or 3 plants with 2 stems per plant. I'm very new to this... I just really need to know about the light cause I think that is my problem. Do they need light through the whole germination, if so what kind of light. If not then when Is light needed? Need lots of help... thanks so much. JBlaze

Hey all how are we doin? I am thinking about buying some Mexican Sativa seeds from XPat seeds and i was just wondering if any one knew anything about Mexican Sativa. The main reason I am considering these seeds is because of their price..cheap! I was also thinking that it might be too late to plant outdoors. Any help would be much appreciated. Jim

hey every1...i got this plant off a friend of mine to look after while he is on holidays..im not sure how old it is, or what strain it is but i am pretty sure that growing it in that tiny pot and with no air getting in because of the bucket thing he has over the top isnt going to do the plant too well...can some1 tell me what is wrong with the plant? the bottom leaves are starting to turn yellow and droop down..the friend told me only to leave the lid off for 10 mins a day..to explain the "bucket thing" further.. it is a clear plactic cylinder that is sealed off at one end..he has to of them which he tapes together.. the opening is about 20cm wide and it is around 50cms t…

Hi all, I got some fantastic bud the other week, there were about 20 seeds, so I thought "why not?" I have seed from seed direct and some others ready for move to tas, not going to waste them, all I did was put them in an old cement tub full of garden soil, put 7 beans in, 5days later 7 little kids poked their head up!, glad I kept the rest! now here comes the question, the one bean I pick as best, size/colour(dark dark dark!) and shape, rounded end, I planted in centre of tub was, the first up,the most rapid opening and here is the odd one! the water leaves are in a 3leaf clover shape, and the first swords are also triple's b4 anyone asks, yes weed seed! . Ok well my first attempt failed miserably. So this time I am going along the paper towel method. Basically what I have done is get a little saucer, place 2 layers of paper towel on it, soak them both, then place 2 seeds on the towel, followed by 2 more layers of soaked towel. I then got another identical sacuer and placed it upside down on top of the other to create darkness and increase humidity. Here are a few pics. Anyone have any suggestions? Oh by the way I am trying to germinate kiwi green from mjoz.

Hey, hows it goin oz stoners? I just had a few questions about lights. I am very new to mj growing but i am very interested in it and i have been reading these forums religiously for the past few weeks. One of my questions is how do the lights actually help the plant grow? I know they are very important but i think that if i understood how they actually helped i could set up a better grow box and hence get a better grow. I have seen the compact fluros in bunnings an i was wondering if i would be able to use them for my whole grow, Instead of buying HID lights. Cheers

Hey all, just afew questios hopefully someone can help with. im just setting up a small cupboard about 1.5m wide, 1m deep an about 2.5m high. im going to be using a 600w Hps and was just wondering how much air id need to flow through there? Are the fans more to keeps the tempretures down or for circulaton? I guessing both yeah? So what size fans would you guys reckomend i use for intake/exhuast and circulation? Im just aliitle worried the rooms too small and will heat up too much.... What temps should i be aiming for? Thanks in andvance. Peace

g'day all, after tipping (cutting the tops out, to promote a more bushier plant) about 10 plants today of NL X BB - there was one plant that the sap was nearly the colour of blood, maybe slightly more purple/clear colour then red, that pooled onto the end of the stem when cutting it off. All the rest of the plants sap was a clear colour. has anyone ever seen this before? would like to know what caused it! Jack

Hey all, I have Kiwi Green seeds from MJOZ I placed 4 of them in a ceramic cup, filled with tap water. they all floated. I covered the cup so it was dark, and placed in a cool area. 24 hours later I inspected them, they were still floating and nothing had seemed to of changed. I then gave each one a slight nudge, and they all sankl to the bottum. Righto then.... 48 hours after first placing them in, I inspect again. They are still at the bottum and one seed has appeared to of split open.. First sign of germination? I am a bit worried that its been 48 hours and only one seed has split open. Greetings OzStoners, Well, I've been out of the folks place for about a month now, and now I've got my own house and all I can start of my first grow. The grow will be for personal comsuption only (well, maybe my brother can have some) so I don't need pounds and pounds of the stuff. I've gone out and picked up 4 x 20-litre pots, I plan to purchase 2 x 400hpw lights and grow 2 lots of 2 in a couple of cupboards. The reason for growing 2 sets in 2 cupboards instead of consolidating into a room is that I want to grow a male and female together and harvest alot of seeds incase I want to regrow in the future.
