General Cultivation Q&A

Hi all I have just recently (1.5 weeks ago) began the flowering phase. My question is at what point can I expect my girls to stop "stretching", as this is the term that I read on Luke's grow. It's something that I have never really paid attention to b4. What are the signs that I should be looking for as my girls are getting a wee bit too close to the lights & I'm going to have to start tieing them down, which I don't mind doing (better than having burnt bud b4 you intentionally want to burn them

The leaves I have seen on plants grown under fluro's seem to be larger then those grown under sunlight. If one was to try and get their plants to flower by taking them from 24 hour fluro light to sunlight, should one expect any sort of problems

Hello every1,Just wondering how often you feed young very small girls ive had nuteburn/lightburn,Flushed now giving 1/2 a 1/4 strenth nutrient (manutec)its like im starting over again lost 2 weeks live n learn i surpose,So do i feed every time i water then flush once aweek?Using perlite in big pots at the moment watering every 3-5 hours and leaving overnight untill morning(hand watering)Cant get anything to test the ph of the water around here ya wouldnt belive it eh but using rain water and friend used manutec without ever testing his ph and ive seen the photo they were great i think it was light burn more than anything as i had 2 600 hps 40 cm away from plants it was …

i just done the temp of my rootzone in my aero cloner and its 30 C , its under a 600 watt HPS , im a bit stumped as to how to cool it down , as the room temp is 28 C. My light is an air cooled Ablite , being vented out side the room , i also have a 120 mm fan venting heat from the top . its winter and gets cold as hell in victoria ,so im on 24 hr lighting atm , the aero cloner is 2 feet from the light . do es any one think i should lift to 3 feet the light ???? from what ive read root zone should be 22 C is that correct ? EDIT: I have put a bigass fan in there , its now 25 C is that ok ?

I'm not having a lot of luck on my first grow so far. I'm sure it'll get better as I learn, but if there are any soil growers out there that have had success with an easy to do mix I would like to copy it. By easy to do I mean all the incrediants available for purchase from hardware/nurseries. I don't compost or collect manure or anything like that. So if there is anyone out there that can share the exact ingredients and nutrients they have used for a successful soil grow this newbie soil grower would be very appreciative.

I have 6 plants unsexed! These plants are now about 2 to 2.5 feet, and have growth in the middle, meaning there getting alittle bushier... I want to sex them and loose no time veging them! I want to cut from each one and sex the cutting when rooted and ready! How do i know when to take cuttings from the orginal plants i spoke of and where would be better the new middle growth or the top? Thank you, I hope that made sense! :)

Hi all, Just wondering if it is possible to keep a strain going on & on by taking clones from clones. I've heard that after a while the clones lose their vigour. Is this true? I am currently thinking of getting a motherplant chamber and take my cuttings off her but as always $$$ is a problem for the time being.

i've heard so many different stories. from "any light at all, anytime, during 12hr lights-out and they're totally f*****d" to "no probs, an occasional flash of light is ok" and even " you can go in there with a torch in an emergency" this from a grow shop owner. so please!! what's the royal scam?

hey guys need a quick answer to a ? is it ok to have my 400 hps on a seed that has just poped up out of the grow wool. im having troubles trying to keep them warm. so i thought that the 400 hps would keep them a bit warmer . ive moved the light further away so it doesnt burn them . any help would be grateful .i have a purple fluoro but it doesnt seem to be warmer enough in there cheers .

Hay yall. I just wanted to see if anyone knew if power form hydro nutez can be kept for a while or do they go stale? I have monsta grow n bloom by grow australia and i used them a while ago on one plant, but i had no experience then and gave it up n went back to soil (i have probs with it currently n posted to pests n disease for any answers, if your interested) Now i have the know how and i will be using an autopot system with 8 plants that are feed using a unique device that fills the trays with nutes n then wont refill till the tray is dry then refills. i will use perlite, which is apparently the ideal medium with this sys. hey guys . im using a turbo tank system and just wondering if i should be setting the timer to saturate the grow wool in the dark period . does the grow wool need to be wet during this period . will this cause any problems with diseases of such.
