General Cultivation Q&A

Hey all, i took some clones off my plants that were 4 weeks into flower, 6 days ago. A couple got abit droopy and they sort of recovered but now i've got yellowing patches on the leaves and tips. Is this because they havent rooted yet? I used jiffy cubes with clonex and im sure the cubes are not under or over moist. They have been foliar fed every 2-3 days with a week nute solution. Temps have been a little high 25-30C and also using a heat mat. they arent looking well, help would be much appreciated.

I planted my seeds (after leaving in damp tissue over night) about a quarter of an inch under the soil and as the light(250watt hps) was only about 6 or 7 inches above the soil it dried out the top layer of soil after 18hours of lights on and when i watered them to make moist again the water pushes the dry soil off a bit each time so that eventually the seed was very close to the top.Well yesterday i raised the light about another 3 inches higher and went to put the seed a little deeper in the soil but it had sprouted and i had the light on and the root got about 4 seconds of intence light before i coverd it up again. Is this going to be ok?Or would i have shocked it?Al…

bought a prop dome and it has holes at the bottom, i dont need the rockwool swimming in water do I? Or can i just spray the top and bottom when they drying out?

Is it still necessary to aerate the water if using an aeroponic system..? just seems since the roots are hanging in the air it wouldent be required. any help.?

Im sure it was another site that i read about this,. but i would like to know if anyone here has heard about doing this. Some people were using grow nutes the week before final flush/rinse of the root/medium system to reduce the amount of phosphorus (i think thats the name ) being consumed by the plant. (Nasty stuff for us apparently) I think this is an effort for a better quality smoke. Normaly i would use flower nutes & flush with straight water for 10 days or so. For the 10 days prior to that should i use just grow nutes or should i use flower nutes? I have posted nearly the same question on this other site ive been lookin at but no answers yet. I read to soak rockwool cubes at ph 5, what do you do??

I have had my plant under 12/12 for 2 weeks now. I noticed yesterday that she is a female,...but she has red pistoles. It is only the lower part of the plant upper part has no pistoles yet. Is this a problem or stain related?? I can't quite get a good pic as my good Cam is getting fixed ATM. Any help very much appresiated. - BTW It is just a bagseed grow for my first go. In soil under 500watt cfl

Is it ok or can you transplant plants from small pots of coco coir to larger 30 or 50 litre pots. Or if not how can i without using soil. will need to transplant to a recirculation sattelite system.

G'day, Quick question.. when taking clones to sex, can you put the cuttings straight under 12/12 while they grow roots to sex as soon as possible? Or do they need to be under 24 hour light until they root, then 12/12 them till they show their sex? Because immediate 12/12 would have them showing sex in around 2 weeks, whereas waiting until they root and then sexing could take around a month.. but if they need 24 hour light to survive then I guess I have no choice And am I right in thinking you should wait until the plant has 5 nodes before taking cuttings? Or can you do it earlier? I want to determine sex with clones as early as possible... Cheers!

Do my fans need to be on or off while the dark period is on?I ask this as i have a growbox in my shed that is powered by a extention cord coming from the house into the shed that is connected to a powerboard on top of my growbox that has two fans and a ballast with 250watt light connected to it.I have a timer pluged into the power point in the house then the extention cord pluged into that.So obviously when the timer goes off so do the fans.I think that makes sence,sry have had a fair few bourbons.I cant have anymore than one extention cord going to the shed as this would look very suss.I have my light and fans on for 14on10off.My seeds have been in the soil for 2 days.

Do you ajust the ph of the water when u flush and what to..? 5.8, 6.0 ? Im using an aeroponic system that sprays a fine mist to the roots for 3 mins every 40 mins.. how long should i flush for..? 8, 24, 48hrs..? Do i flush during the flowering stage as well..? Are there any addatives that might help the flush process..? Thanks.

Just bought adv nutr sensi grow and superthrive, are these enough for me to use??? anything else special ill need or is this good 2 go?
