I'm new to growing and need advice. I havn't started yet but I'm thinking of it soon. I want advice on the best strain for me and whether I should go outdoor or indoor. I'm in SA and I just want to grow a personal smoke. Enough to last me till next harvest if possible without growing too much. In Adelaide at the moment should I go indoor or outdoor? And what strain should I go for, I want a big yield but good smoke. Is Nothern Lights good for that or are there any others considering I've never grown b4. I know where I vcan get good seeds and clones but I just dont know what to go for. Any advice welcome!!

How much head space do the plants need? How tall will they grow? Will they grow depending on how much space they have? Will height affect yield? At present, I have space with about 45cm vertical clearance.

Hi all. I am again pushed for grow space, a never ending problem it seems, and one we probably all share. Tigger sure seems to have this problem . So I thought about the best way to condense the plants of a new batch of seed, I want to grow to select a mother. It's White Widow x Sweetooth. I bought a slab of rockwool from the hydro shop for $11.00. I sliced some cubes off the rockwool, and made drills in them, so to germinate the seeds. At the same time as cutting out the 1 inch cubes, I also made my own larger cubes similar to the hydro shop jobies that sell for for $1.20 or more each. You get far more than eleven out of a slab of rockwool. While I was waiting …

I'm starting this thread basically just as a grow diary for my second grow. Since the first grow (ak47 & white widow), I have made quite a few changes, first time round I had big problems with heat in the box, so I decided to use a small air conditioning unit, which I soon realised was doing very little for the power/space it was using, this time round I traded the a/c unit in for an air cooled hood for which I have installed ducting that goes into my roof, much more effective and economic! (I like)... For the grow I have 3 clones all swt#3 (I origanally had 4 swt#3, and 2 headstone from SPC, but seeing as I didnt have the room the rest have gone into a mates grow …

I'm planning on setting up a small grow in my wardrobe on a shoe-string budget. I need someone to give me some advice on whether the following idea is a good one or not. - Two chambers. Bottom one used for growing, top for drying. The bottom chamber is 40cm high, 40cm wide and 45cm deep. The top is 35X40X45. - Plants will grow in rockwool, using X-Factor or similar nutrients. - CO2 provided by vinegar/bi-carb drip. - Flourescent lighting. - Holes to be cut in rear of both chambers (about the size of a 50c piece) for ventilation. I'll be growing White Widow X Sweet Tooth. It will only really be for myself and a small circle of friends, essentially because we're…

These are some pics from my first grow (400WHPS, Organic), the plants are SWT#3 ( from stonedas) thanks mate , Blueberry, and Northern Lights. The pics where taken yesterday and i think i will be harvesting the NL and SWT#3 in a couple of days, the Blueberry was slow to flower and has another week or 2 to go i reckon. Ill try and get some pics of the finished product in a few weeks. I have also put a few pics of my outdoor Very Berrys, thought you might like to see what they are like outdoors. Sorry about the crappy pics , the camera was a bit old. Also a big thanks to stonedas, rob and some other people off OG for helping me out along the way and giving me ad…

I have 5 Afghani #1 Clones in my growbox 1.7m height x700mmx700mm, 400w Son T Agro, Do you think this is enough space? Any advise on this strain would be much appreciated, I plan on veging them till about 1 foot befor flowering them, what aprox yeild do you think I will get. Should I be tipping these plants or pruning or anything?

If you have the space and can do this without raising attention of neighbours a good way of providing c02 enrichment is to shut down lights and fans and gas them with a lawnmower or rideon lawn mower as its in a confined space and omits nice amounts of co2 to plants.Turn fans on about 30 mins after carbon has settled(leave mower on near grow space for say 15mins.

I have seen & read a few threads that relate to the plant stretching but my question is is there any real problem with the plant/s stretching does it cause any problems with the plant its self? Cheers JD

Can someone please tell me how a capillary system works? I havent been able to find any info on it. The system that I am interested in using due to how cheap it is to build/setup uses this method. So any kind of information would be appreciated. Cheers joedave
