Just enquiring about water cooled hoods for 400w hps lighting.... Does anyone have any experience or know of any friends with experience using a water cooled hood? I've been thinking more and more about it as I have only a small amount of room to put a grow in, my last room being a small cupboard, 600mm x 600mm x 1800mm. I found that keeping the temps down in such a small space was extremely hard, to say the least! I recall that at one time in the last grow I had a small disaster, the extraction and intake fans failed! I didn't notice for only about an hour, and in that time, the entire canopy was burned brown down around 4 or 5 cm down from the tops in some places…

Okay people now i have some serious gear and need some help. I have got a 600W MH, 400W HPS and a 150W HPS. ( All this will goto a big cupborad. For the veg i plan on using the MH and the 150W HPS but they will be in a fixed postion (will be able to move up or down but no side to side). So some plants will get only MH, some will get both the HPS and MH and some only HPS. Is there anything i can do so the plants get best of the MH and the HPS. I know about those things that move the lights but as stated they are going in a cupborad. But the real question is do u think it would be better to have Just the MH for veg and the 2 HPS for the flowering. please help

I was chatting to few gnomes other day, they asked me "what if" ...... so I decided to post the question/s here. Lets say a gnome wanted to have a small set-up/grow box like in a wardrobe, etc... just for 4-6 plants for personal use.......since the gnome doesnt smoke much. The gnome was bit curious because during the veg stage as the gnome didnt like the idea having 430watt for 18 hours during the veggie stage specially if he was planning to grow in a wardrobe, and lives in the tropics, etc ... he asked "what if" used 250W Metal Hinde for 18 hours since it will be assumed cooler than having 430W for 18 hours... this is the dimensions of my grow center its 43inch high 42inch long 17inch wide. i am curious to kno what the growers with experience think what level of fluro's i should use. also for ventilation what do u recommend. how many plants you think i could grow in this center

Hey all Here is a pic at my first go at building an air cooled hood it is not finnished yet. i still have to get my ducting and glass, i am going to pick it up on saterday hopefully i allready have the fans, i built it suit the size of my grow area but i was thinking it mite need to be a little wider any one got any advice on this would be grate bong on aussie ozmade

Well Guys, It seems ive done the stupidest thing possible by just being a dick and not thinking.. This afternoon i was checking up on my sprouts when i remebered the guy at the hydro store saying "Run a cloth over your globe often to keep dust, finger prints and stuff of it so it doesnt ghet hot in spots" So me being the lazy shit i am not seeing any cloths in site took off my shirt and went to wipe the globe. Okay i used to use a 150W HPS setup but no i have moved home with other people and its a bit harder to use that. Now i have to use a smaller box with Cf's. I was wondering has any one ever budded with cf's and had good results. Im only growing 1 plant or 2 in scrog (buit i cant get clones now) so maybe 1 plant with 6 18W bulbs, in a box with 75cm(H) x 25cd (D) x 30cm(W) so yep its is small but i only need about an 1/2 an ounce a month. DO u think i can get this results. please help

Hi, Just wondering how much use you can get from flouro's, Cf's and tubes. I've been using 1 twin 2 footer for cloning for a while now. I have 2 mums under their now which were starting to look a bit sick, I added a cf and they looked alot healthier after a few days. So should the flouro's be changed regularly?. Thanks heaps. Paranoid.

SHould i have any reason to be worried about these HPS lights catching on fire if on too long or anytying like that? i just can;t believe how hot they get. I had the light on my carpet for 2 mins and it burnt a hole right through. and is there an easy way of mounting these heavy bloody things?

My turn to ask a question or two: I am now boldly going where I have not gone before, I have picked up a not-so-old light rail for the cost of 1/2 an ounce and I would like to hear from members that have successfully used one. Hey, I have a plant outside, but in sydney today the weather is pretty shitty, no sun showing, just overcast. I was wondering should i bring my plant inside on days like this and put him under a little fluruo desk lamp o have ? And whats the easiest way to see if a light is actually going to help the plant grow? cuz i dunno what type of fluruo this one is and i dunno the wattage of it. Thx

I am just wondering, i need some cheap lights which i will use for the whole grow, germing, vegging, and flouring. i'd go for an hps, but i heard they are hidiously expensice, so would a couple compact (or not, what's the difference and which i better?)flouros do the trick? i need them to be less then 100$ thanks, for anyones info, the grow box will be around 2' x 2' x 2' thanks a bunch crazychicken

i've been hearing quite a bit about how loads of people use compact flouros for their mother/clone setups. Why is this? wouldn't it be better to use stronger lights for growing them? and also, why should a mother clone setup be placed seperatly to a veg room? thanks for any info crazychicken p.s. i found this light around my place wchich looks exactly like a compact flouro but says on the side "Low Energy linear bulb. Not adjustable light intensity" and is A class when it comes to Energy (it says 600 lumens, 11 Watts 10000 h), would this be suitable for the mother clone setup, or would i need stronger? thanks a mill
