Doctors and the Liberal Opposition in South Australia are keen for the state to take another look at legalising medicinal use of marijuana. On Tuesday Victoria passed laws to allow children with severe epilepsy to use medicinal cannabis from next year, and New South Wales is conducting a trial for patients suffering vomiting and nausea as a result of chemotherapy. SA Opposition Leader Steven Marshall said South Australia was "well behind best practice". "South Australia has been absolutely dragging the chain on this one ... the rest of the country are looking at this opportunity to relieve people, in exceptional circumstances," he said. He urged SA Health Minister Jack Sn…

John Ehrlichman, who had advised Nixon on domestic policy, told the journalist Dan Baum that the drugs war was an excuse to target “the anti-war left and black people”, Mr Baum writes, in a new report advocating drug lega…

http://www.news.com.au/finance/business/other-industries/legalising-medical-cannabis-sounds-great-if-you-can-afford-it/news-story/60ee23bfa8ee31c7a816d598efa44328 AUSTRALIA is about to see an explosion of capital investment in a product that, up until recently, has been the domain of the criminal underworld. And with the ink still drying on the Federal Government’s laws, key players are ready to pounce on what is tipped to become a billion-dollar industry (once state laws catch up, and a national regulator is established). But fo…
