So my water feed died today for some reason and i couldn't figure out why despite many efforts and a phone call to a friend. I've decided to fill the hydro pot up to the roots and switch to a dwc setup. Only problem is I don't have an air stone and am wondering whether running the open tube from the pump will provide enough oxygen to the roots. It seems to be bubbling away quite well so i'm thinking i can get away with it for a few days at least. Has anyone successfully ran a dwc setup without the fish pump?

Hi I have recently had a go at growing some bag seeds and I thought I would post afew pics of my plants... I planted these in early April, and this is the progress so far: The plant on the left seems to be growing very strongly, but the one on the right seems to be struggling: notice that part of a leaf is missing, and also the lower leaves seem to be somewhat deformed... Does anyone have any ideas about what might be happening there? They are potted in Baileys potting mix from bunnings, and I have watered them with some seasol fertaliser about every 2 weeks since planting - not sure if this is a good thing... I decided to plant before I stumbled across the wea…

Hi all I didn't know what sub forum this undiagnosed issue would fall under so here goes. What would be the most likely cause for this to happen. It is only affecting the shade leaves of one of two plants on the same system Thanks Crystal

Rust spots forming rapidly. 2. Lower leaves yellow and dying (trimmed off now). 3. Leaves very dry and rough to touch. 4. Leaf tips curling. I have just repotted 3 one inch and 1 two inch seedlings from potting mix to coco/perlite mix 70%/30% after the seedlings were not growing and have been in for 19 days now. They have been under 250watt MH and yesterday i put in my 250watt HPS.I have good intake and outake fans. I have a cheapo PH tester that measures wetness of medium, light and the PH.After transplanting them into coco/perlite i tested the PH and it reads just past 7PH.What can i use to lower it? As i believe around 5.2 to 6.5PH is right for growing cannabis.I have read some people water in vinegar into the medium but thats usually soil not coco/perlite and other people say coffee grounds but then other pe…

I have been doing "trials" on a new growing space before i attempt the main event. In a DWC setup i have 6 plants sharing the same nutrients, all 6 plants are grown from seeds, all seeds from the same plant, 3 are healthy and growing, 3 have stalled and started to show signs of "?" PH has been 5.7-5.9 the whole time EC started at 0.2 for the first few days then 0.4 by the end of the first week. gradually bumped it up every 4 or 5 days, currently EC is at 1.2 Lots of dissolved oxygen in the water Nutrient solution has been Canna Light distance is not close enough to cause light burn its just strange to see a 50/50 of healthy and unhealthy from the same res......

Hello everyone. Really need some advice here because I can not get my plants looking healthy. I have encountered a few problems which I feel I have dealt with appropriately but still I am struggling. The plants are Greenhouse Great White Shark. 17 of the 18 seeds germinated and 15 strong seedlings survived. The seeds were germinated in 1", pH adjusted Rockwool cubes. Up until a week ago the seedlings remained in a propagation tray where I would water them by hand at 7am, 6pm and midnight but it got to the point where I could not water them enough by hand so I placed them into my hydroponics system. The system is a drip irrigation recirculating system with …

Hello OS'ers Having what may or may not be an issue with my room. The RH often drops to 30% in my room during lights on. The plants don't seem to be suffering any ill effects at all but I have been unable to find a minimum recommendation for Rh anywhere, only maximum of around 60%. Cheers

OK , the cold weather is upon us again and I am having the same problems , stunted growth due to cold perlite . The solution is usually to move my grow into the house where it is warmer and space is smaller . BUT , I want to keep my bigger space in the shed outback , so , lets hear your ideas . I am currently growing using large pots with Perlite sitting in Kitty Litter trays ,, water when they seem a bit drier . The air temp is about 25C , perlite temp about 17 C . So , what other cheap methods would be good to keep the temps up a bit ? Heat mats , Flood and Drain , DWC ????? I dont like flood and drain as it wastes so much nutes . Toss ya ideas at me plea…

Hi everyone, I have a few Critical Mass plants on the go, trouble is they just aren't growing very well. The clones are nearing 7 weeks of vege and are only 10-15cm tall, with strange leaf deformations, and dying back starting at the base. I'm really pissed cause that's a lot of juice being used for nearly no results. My mate has the same strain at the same age and they are over two feet tall. It was suggested to me that it could be root rot? The roots I can see near the top are an off white with some brown but I think that's some staining from the clay...??? They get the best of everything - new bulbs, rhizo, cannazym, nitrozym, sensi a+b, superthrive etc and…

a mate asked me to look at his potplant and it's well into flower but looks to need a little longer. Sydney's been so damp lately he's got fungus through the buds. I just looked at the BOM though and it appears we are in for a sunny week. If he leaves it alone and it remains sunny will the rot just die, or now that it's got a hold will it just worsen? Seems a shame to pull it early.

Ive decided to go automated and in the past I never mixed up more than 5ltrs at a time so only worried about PH. However, Ive bought a 100ltr resi for my new room so Im guna need to be abit more involved. Ive seen most people giving PPM values but most nutrients give EC. so what sort of meter is best for what i need to do?
