Hey guys, Just received my order of: 1x Echinopsis Pachanoi 1x Echinopsis Lageniformis Got them through SAB (removed Comment) They are both in a pretty bad way in regards to what looks like rot but i am no expert, What i didnt realise is they come un-potted in a tube... How long can they survive being un-potted? it must be an easy 4-5 days now. Also what kind of soil / perlite etc do i use? And if this is rot will it heal by itself or are they as good as gone?? Appreciate your input all. Cheers

If anybody has been thinking about growing their own Lophophora from seed here is a couple of pic's to show how it has worked for me. I have found over the years that the growing cacti from seed isn't too hard, you just have to accept the fact that you may not keep them all alive. With that in mind it is best to buy up plenty of seed and grow a few hundred or more at a time. For the price of one cacti approx 3cm in diameter you can buy 100 seeds. 90% will sprout, 50% of those will be resistant to mould and fungi and a further 75% will survive their first winter outdoors. This gives you 33.75 peyote plants that be strong enough to survive outdoors thereon provided you …

3 months ago i was given a Super Pedro cactus for my birthday. For the first month it was sitting next to my window not really doing alot. Over the last 2 months I've had it under my 400 watt HPS, over this time it almost doubled in size and its now just under 30cm. A few days ago i noticed 2 green bumps forming at the base, this picture shows you what they look like now. Any ideas on whats going wrong ?

Wouldn't mind a quick bit of info from anyone in Aus that's managed to get some. Anything in regards to growing, stability, what the experience is like, whatever really. Something I'm seriously considering grabbing.

Over a weekend last summer of temperatures of 39C and 40C, a San Pedro I had some 6 six years from a cutting, finally flowered. The flower spike took a little over a week to form but burst into flower over one very hot night. The other cacti are Peruvian Torch. I'm yet to see what they look like in flower? I've had them 6 years as well. They could do with a repot this spring. As an aside, I note the fungi forum won't allow new members to post in there? Why is that? Equador strain on millet birdseed cased in coir.

Hi there, Looking to meet up with some fellow cactus/pot/mushroom/other ethnobotanicals fiends in the Sunshine Coast area - male or female. A trip buddy I guess..... no psychopaths please - only people I can feel safe tripping with.

Hi, I've been trying to find out which cactus is the one mentioned in the 'High Times' Psychedelics Edition a while back, right near the end of the Mag, the 'Luna Cactus' used in shamanism for 'Divination', if my memory is correct. It sounds like an interesting plant to try. This article also mentions it: http://www.pgorman.com/BetweentheCanopyandtheForestFloor.htm

Hi, I have a graft growing here, can someone judge its health by picture? I was told that it would not survive. http://img182.imageshack.us/img182/5183/dsc01428ia8.jpg http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/9996/dsc01423qj0.jpg What do you think about the appearance? Any idea of how I can boost the growth? The rootstock is too long, in my opinion it affects the overall rate of growth, because the top part is pretty well bonded with the root. Can I add some more P? N? K? Thank you, nice forum
