Hey peoples, virgin poster here. I am a little ignorant with a few green things, so please be nice.. I grew 4 plants, 2 male and 2 female .. I wanted tonnes of seeds so I could grow more so I sacrificed any nice smoke I could of had and pollinated my females. Got lots of seed, and have only had about 2 of 100 or so sprout. Usually I just find them in purchased weed. Now It's never been rocket science to me to sprout seeds. The only thing different I have done this time is harvest my own seeds. My questions are - Could I have picked the seeds too early? - even though they looked like they were bursting out of their sacs. or did I plant them too early and n…

i noticed considerable stretch in a strain and was advised by a local hydro shop to chuck out the mother and to start using the very top to clone for the next generation. this dude was telling me he has brought back strains that were thought to have drifted genetically after 4 or 5 generations of top cloning. i never believed in the genetic drift theory. after reading on here i was worried the tops would be harder to clone, and most people clone from the older more woody parts. i thought i would have a crack at it i have had 100% success so far and nodes much closer in the plants. it seems to be working anyone had similar experiences ?

i found a seed in my grow, first seed it has produced for me. i did leave them longer than normal and suspect i have kicked the plant into survival mode to produce a male flower. i never saw the male flower, just found the seed later, well after the grow. the question is: if i planted this seed would it produce a female or a hermie ? does this depend on if it fertilized another plant or itself ? this has probably been answered and im sure the info is there if i read enough

Can anyone help me ? If I keep my seeds from this harvest and plant it out next season, how many times can I harvest seed from one generation and grow the next without compramising the quality? Do I at some stage introduce a different male for hibrid vigor?

G,day troops. Stay with me, it's a bit convoluted. I grew my first hermie this year, had never even seen one in over 30 years, so it was a bit of a rarity for me. It ended life at a mates house where they are doing it a bit tough at the mo. But I digress. This hermie pollinated one of my other females, also in a pot, and I have collected the seed. Now can anyone out there tell me, with some sort of surety, what will be the result of these seeds if I go ahead and grow them on? Will they grow as hermies or what will be the result? They are big, dark, fat seeds and look too good to throw away. Both plants are from the same strain, N.Q. x P.N.G. and this produces …

Hey all, just had a tray of hydrogarden fleximix plugs given to us to try today for doing clones etc. Im assured that they dont hold loads of water like the rockwool blocks do. The kit comes with stimulator plugs with micro elements and amino acids. At least thats what it says it comes with.Apparently they dont get too wet or dry out too much so we are gonna have a go with them...will let ya's know how we go... For those of you here in Perth, Issabella's nursery stocks EVERYTHING you can ever need and also will discretely discuss your requirements and any growing probs you may have...

Hey guys 'n gals Bit of back story... I was given ~200 seeds by a mate back in early 2010 i acquired another 50 or so random seeds from other mates. I've been using over the past year, i've kept them in a cupboard in zip lock back with a gel bag. So last weekend I ran the seeds over some fine sand paper to scratch the husk and dropped them into a glass of water for about ~15 hours Then planted them into some jiffy pellets, placed the pellets into a grow tray placed about 5mm high water in the tray, placed the tray on a heat mat. Now i did have the humidity cover on for a day or two, but it's been off for a good 4 days now. So it's been 7 days since I've planted …

The elusive bonzai? 1 2 3

Have I unintentionally created a bonzai-style plant here? She would be about 11 or 12 weeks from germination and just slightly taller than an average lighter... Using a diluted Seasol? solution to water and feed her. 20W Fluorescent light about 3-4 inches above the tip. Started germination outside, then after 2 weeks I brought her inside. Does anybody know why she is so short and undeveloped? Cheers, Sm0k3r

So, it's been 7 days since i took a few cuttings from a mates white widow. From what i've read on this site i got to them a little late, as they had already started to flower pretty heavily, but figured i'd have a crack, with nothing really to lose. Me and the mate tried to follow most of the instructions i'd seen here - used a nice new stanley, distilled water, some clonex, and then put them into some seed-raising potting mix (didn't get rockwool this time). Was a little concerned when the leaves started to go brown, however read somewhere here that that was a good sign. Problem is there is 3 in the pot, and if they do sprout roots i don't want them all becoming ta…

A lot of people have trouble with clones in rockwool until they have done a few batches. I sure did. My first attempts suffered from stem rot and slow rooting. Here's a photoessay on a batch of clones as they are done around here now that I've had a bit of practise getting consistent results. One of the biggest problems with rockwool cubes is that they can hold a LOT of water. If cubes are too wet, rooting will be slow or stem rot may set in. Think damp, never wet or saturated. A dry 40mm cube weighs 5g. A properly "damp" cube weighs 25-30g. Heavier than that is too wet. Remove water from overwet cubes by shaking excess out into a bucket with a snap of the wrist. A sala…

Hi all I have read near everything on these forums about cloning and it seems reasonabily easy I have a nice female I wish to clone, but it will be a outdoor clone, I intend in building a small greenhouse to do it in, but it will be comming into the winter months. Will the length of day affect the clones? and make them want to start budding? Can I just cut them dip in cutting powder and place in nice dirt then water normally? most cloning seems to be done indoors. Thanks in advance for any help
