Autism; in the states cannabis is recognised as having many medicinal benefits and surpising enough ..... my psychologist recognises it as a beneficial therapeutic therapy for those that suffer with autism .... .... cannabis is incredibly beneficial for those who suffer with autism, myself included. Normal day-to-day activities prove difficult. Cannabis provides me with the comfort i need to live. What do i mean by this ... ? ??.... In an attempt to understand my neurochemistry doctors have prescribed drugs that they themselves do not understand the mechanistic functions of and prescribed me a bunch of medications that had nothing but disastrous consequences........ some of the medications instilled a deep dark manic-depressive outlook to my daily life. For the first time ever i had been having strange wild dark thoughts of suicide. without cannabis it is very unlikely i can function "normally" and live a happy life..... it allows me to leave the house and to socialise more, happily and in comfort, it slows down my mind so that i can speak cohesively and can communicate with my peers in a more courteous nature..... I suffer with hardcore sensory overload, i can not usually stomach artificial lighting ... touch, heat, sound ....normal sensory stimuli,,,,,,,,, cannabis completely alleviates these sensitivites..... It helps me to think positively and i can safely contribute my successes at first year uni to cannabis alone. Without it i could not have focussed properly on the material i had to (a.d.d related problems) and would not have succeeded.... as one of the last great leaders of the united states would say ....when a law is unjust the people should not just have the right to disobey it they should be obligated to do so. It is unfair to disallow therapies to individuals that work, especially when other therapies do not and when it appears to not harm the individual's wellbeing or other's wellbeing..... as i utilise it as a medicine i do not often feel the "high" effects .... i think this is the key difference to recreational usage....

I thank you for your time and hope that your motives are as pure as they appear to be,

Mahalo'

(May you be within the divine blessings of the gods) :)

*EDIT* - i forgot to mention other aspects it helps aspergers with ... such as ... intense nausea because of the adrenal glands in my stomach ....

Also not sure why the major ailments cannabis assists is not mentioned ..... Hepatitis ..... HIV .... CANCER..... these are infact the most widely recognised therapeutic applications of cannabis .......

thanks again to everyone who's commented here - we've drawn up a longer, more inclusive list of ailments. I'll add it into the live survey today.

Unfortunately everyone who has participated so far won't have answered these questions but everyone completing it in future will - we figure better to get most of the final sample than none at all.

I will print off the link, photo copy it and cutr it into business card size and ask me local hydro shop if he can let his customers know and take one. Other than that I cant really get the info out as I dont know many who grow or have. As ya know its not something we talk about.

After seeing El Gato's comment (a while back now I know) we decided to make up a sheet for people to print and cut into small cards.

You can download it at http://worldwideweed.nl/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/growerflyers.pdf

I know people aren't so keen on using email or social media to tell friends about this study... so if you do want to give the link to someone in your network who you think might like to contribute, print this pdf, cut into cards and you have an easy way to distribute without compromising anyone's privacy.

Thanks for completing it :)

We are going to do a media release on Thursday. Hopefully we can drum up some more support and increasing participants numbers... we are currently on a little over 150 respondents who have completed the whole questionnaire... but we are hoping to triple that and access around 500 Australian growers.
