I`m lost... no shit, I`m lost. They wanna filter the internut for everyone? Whatta fucken joke. I`ve been watching porn from the net for years, never in my time have I come across Child pornography...never... I know of others that have, these ppl were done for sex offences too ( One person was my mate`s Husband). These ppl could`nt even use a computer, then they could get online and find Kiddie porn...? I don`t think so somehow, these type of sick fuckers are well hooked up among themselves.

 

I`m currently trying to stop my young bloke from accessing porn on the computer, it aint the porn that bothers me so much as the other crap that happens, browser hijacks, etc...

 

His laptop runs Vista, I`ve set up an Admin account and locked him to standard user, if he wants something installed, he`s gotta ask me, if he wants to see certain sites, he`s gotta ask me... It works.

 

It seems safe as houses really, especially when he knows nothing about the user log which shows his activities... like 143 failed logins to the Admin account... He`s tried, to no avail yet though. His last 10 IE searches involved something to do with lifting/ removing/ getting past parental control...

 

Point is: When do we look after our own and when does the government let us...?

XP & Vista have DEFAULT Admin Backdoor Passwords... Not very secure.

"windows2003" (without quotes) for most versions of XP (I have a password cracker which is how I found out )

You may need to boot into safe mode to use it as some XP setups will only do it from there unless you tweak them.

 

You'll have to have a look for the vista pass because I HATE VISTA & won't use it.

 

For real security use full (including boot) drive encryption.

That's a good point dude. And i suspect that the reason the press isn't giving this too much coverage is that their corporate media owners will do anything to stop people downloading TV shows without the BS ads and go back to the TV set. I'd bet real money that also on das-list are all the P2P and bittorrent sites. I'm still amazed at the number of punters who dont know about this.

If Conroy thinks his filters are so s**t hot effective then let him prove it for everyone to see.

 

Filter just one port in the tcp/ip protocol stack, that being the smtp port for mail and filter the bastard for viagra spam of all sorts.

 

If ya can't accomplish that I will NEVER believe ya can filter kiddyporn of all sorts etc. on the http port.

 

Until that is accomplished, leave the net alone as you obviously do not know what you are doing!!!!

And opening your mouth to prove your level of ignorance has NEVER been a good look.
