Australian Taxation Office's viewpoint on HRP's business

'Hutt River Province' and international business companies

Warning to potential investors

The Australian Government does not legally or otherwise recognise the so-called ‘Hutt River Province’.

The Tax Office has identified a situation where non-residents of Australia have been offered the chance to purchase international business companies and other entities purportedly incorporated or registered in the ‘Hutt River Province’.

We are concerned that the companies and other entities may be sold as part of a tax avoidance or evasion arrangement.

People should avoid any arrangements involving ‘Hutt River Province’ international business companies and any other entities as well as any associated international dealings because they have no legal basis and could be illegal.

Thanks Kali,

I distinctly recall this property owner declaring war against the commonwealth; this appears to be a different but nonetheless interesting case. I'm almost certain the one I was thinking of was in QLD.

Not that you'd do it anyway nowadays; it would probably result in an F18 or two visiting.

Looks like the nations largest ISP is telling the federal gubberment what to do with their censorship rules.

I can understand censoring access to Kiddie Porn; most other things should be open to willing adult participants from the comfort of their homes.

HI Joe,

Dont miss the pint of what this filter is about, it wont stop or even slow porn of any kind and is merely there for the govt. to put their blacklist of 'illegal' sites into action. The porn filter is optional anyway, the blacklist isn't. What's on the blacklist? They aint saying but you can bet this site and other like it will be. That way us wayward sheep wont be able to cause big brother any problems as the only source of information we'll have is from the ministry of propaganda, oh, umm I mean the mainstream media.

Fight this one with everything you've got m8's cos I imagine they'll also be blocking those yummy seed selling sites as well.

I have read a lot about Hutt River and like communities [as Hutt is not the only one, it's the only one that received a whole lot of publicity way back when].

I have a similar ideal in mind . . . within the next 12 months I fully intend to buy a small tract of land somewhere out in the Never-Never and secede . . . I've been toying with the idea for years . .

Subject: proposed internet filter

Hello, i wish to inform you of my earnest objections to your propossed internet filter.

This is a foolhardy attempt at censorship in the extreme, apparently you refuse to listen to experienced folk who actually operate Australian internet access or to the majority of internet savvy people who use the internet for many varied reasons in work and pleasure and do not wish this proposed internet filter to be enacted.

Whilst i deplore the very small majority who abuse their access to the internet, i beleive your standing as Minister responsible for these proposed laws will find great disfavour with the Australian public, so much so you will be viewed as pig-headed, inflexible and ignorant to the wishes of the majority.

Should you go ahead and implement such measures i will do my level best to unseat yourself, as this is not what i expect or want from any Australian Government.

Thank You for reading this, if you do

Your humble elector,

Fred Nurk .

Update:

Despite my several emails to this crowd explaining the facts of they matter they are persisting with their campaign of BS and misinformation, here are some highlights for your amusement.

"The internet has become a cesspool of child and adult porn.

Kids and women are degraded, violence is glorified and no one is safe from having this rot thrust in their face, even by accident.

The Australian Christian Lobby is glad the Government is moving to protect kids and women through mandatory filtering...

Sections of the internet industry and the porn lobby are opposed because ISP filtering threatens the money they can make through the trade in exploiting women and the lucrative download of pornography, including child porn.

Claims that Australia is becoming like China and that the net will be censored for political and religious comment are ridiculous given our robust democracy.

It is appropriate at times for Governments to limit freedoms.........

Sure, trials so far have shown a slight reduction in internet speed as a result of the filters, but technology is rapidly developing. Even if there was a small drop in speed it is a small price to pay to protect kids and to thwart feeding the perverse appetites of paedophiles."

From: http://www.makeastand.org.au/campaign/inde...?campaign_id=21

Fortunately though on the same page they made it really easy to contact your local pollies about this, just put in your post code, select a pollie, send, rinse and repeat for each pollie on the list, you only have to type your message once! How cool is that?

The really cool part though is you can check the box that says 'CC a copy to ACL' mwahahahaahaaaa.

So now we can kill 2 birds with one stone. If you care about this issue, follow the link and shoot off some emails cos these dangerous nubs are continuing to spread this BS to thousands of gullible Christians all over the web.

Beware of fascism with Jesus' clothes on.
